Since you insist on belaboring everything, here is what you posted, complete with your lie. Your lie is in bold.

“Russian regime has been cultivating, supporting and assisting TRUMP for at least 5 years. Aim, endorsed by PUTIN, has been to encourage splits and divisions in western alliance.”

— Steele memo 80, dated June 20, 2016

WaPo Article- The Mueller report documents extensive Russian efforts to ensure Trump’s victory, through hacking operations and social media efforts. Mueller also details Trump’s business interests in Russia, especially pursuit of a Trump Tower project in Moscow.

Anastasis being intellectually dishonest-  Nothing in this memo details hacking or social media operations by Russia.  What this memo does discuss is "the Kremlin had been feeding Trump and his team valuable intelligence on his opponents, including clinton, for several years." It discusses a "dossier of compromising material on Clinton" comprising "bugged conversations she had on various visits to Russia and intercepted phone calls"..."and focused on things that she had said which contradicted her current position on various issues". None of these aspects are supported by Mueller's findings. Memo 80 fails on virtually every single claim in the "Detail" section when examined specifically.

There is no incongruity between the following two statements. You lie when you say there is. The dossier says Russia is cultivating, supporting and assisting Trump for at least 5 years. The Mueller report shows some of the mechanisms for this.

Statement 1- Russian regime has been cultivating, supporting and assisting TRUMP for at least 5 years. Aim, endorsed by PUTIN, has been to encourage splits and divisions in western alliance.”

Statement 2- The Mueller report documents extensive Russian efforts to ensure Trump’s victory, through hacking operations and social media efforts. Mueller also details Trump’s business interests in Russia, especially pursuit of a Trump Tower project in Moscow.

Do your parents make you wear a helmet when you go outside?  There is nothing in my assessment that is a lie. Memo 80 doesn't say anything about hacking and social media interference. It makes some very specific claims regarding intelligence activities conducted against Clinton, which I provide some examples of.  None of these claims regarding the nature of the intelligence operation by Russia in memo 80 are supported by the Mueller report.  In fact, the vast majority of the specific details in memo 80 are not supported by the Mueller report. Resorting to call others liars, but not being able to actually point out the lie is not a good look, but common and unsurprising here. And very Trumpian.

"Sourced from Russia?" Not from the Putin's government. It was a former allied intelligence officer, employed by a private agency contracted to do oppo research, getting info from sources within Russia. You should know better than to say "Russia" as if it means the Russian government. It wasn't from Russia, it was from Russians. It's a significant difference. (And do we know that all of those sources are still alive and well?)

Oh, and coming back to this point.  I think that it is great that we are now drawing distinction between individuals of Russian ethnicity and individuals associated directly with the Russian government.  The board didn't apply that distinction to veselnitskaya, deripaska, or blavatnik, but it's good that we are coming around now.  Oh, and for the record, a number of Steele's sources were, at least according to Steele's descriptions, directly associated with the Russian government. Senior foreign ministry official, former high ranking intelligence official still active in the Kremlin, and senior Kremlin official, etc. Now do these people represent "Putin's government"? I don't think that I would use that formulation.

Anastasis: Courts for warrant purposes shouldn't rely on information being fed to us by Russian government officials because it is likely just a disinformation campaign.

Anastasis if facts were different: Courts for warrant purposes shouldn't rely soley on information from people in Russia about Russian government activities. It would be better if the information came from sources within the Russian government, that way we have some indication that it is something more than rumors and gossip.

I'm 100% confident this is what you'd say. Hell, I'm betting if I looked hard enough, I'd find that you've already said it.

Sigh, propornot has never claimed to be a minister of truth or a 100% reliable source of information.  They aren’t even a news organization.  They are a collection of international political scientists trying to combat Russian influence operations in the United States by flagging sites that reliably echo Kremlin propaganda, you know, like Wikileaks and Zerohedge.

Other than the random tweet, I haven’t cited them in a long time.

Keep in mind Don Jr is one of those in the redacted Mueller report being shielded from transparency under a "personal privacy" rationale.  Sure would be helpful for Congress to know what Mueller included about Jr in his report before he appears.

Nothing good can come from interviewing Don Jr.

Mueller didn’t even want to interview him enough to subpoena him, he’s that worthless.

(My theory on why Mueller didn’t interview JR is his lawyer told Mueller if you subpoena him, he’s going to pled the 5th across the board so don’t even bother)

Has Anastasis bitched at all about Rudy's trip to the Ukraine to try and bribe them to manufacture dirt on Biden? That seems much more in line with what he's constantly implying that Obama's administration did than anything the Obama administration actually, you know, did.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/watchdog-probes-fbi-reliance-on-dossier-in-surveillance-of-trump-aide-11557275757

The Justice Department’s internal watchdog, close to concluding its inquiry into steps the FBI took in its probe of Trump campaign associates and Russia beginning in 2016, is homing in on whether the agency continued surveillance of one associate despite questions about a key source’s credibility, according to people familiar with the matter.

...

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s team has been asking why the FBI continued to cite Mr. Steele as a credible source in the renewal applications, the people said. In particular, they asked about a news report cited extensively in the applications that appeared to bolster Mr. Steele’s credibility. The report said U.S. intelligence officials were investigating allegations similar to those Mr. Steele had raised.

In the last application, the FBI said it didn’t believe that Mr. Steele directly provided the information in the Yahoo News article, even though Mr. Steele had admitted in U.K. proceedings in spring 2017 that he had briefed the reporter.

Investigators have also asked about an internal FBI evaluation of Mr. Steele’s credibility that found his reporting had been “minimally corroborated,” even as it also said he had provided information “of value” to the U.S. intelligence community. The evaluation was reflected in a “human source validation report” written by a unit of the FBI after the bureau cut off its relationship with Mr. Steele in October 2016. It did so because of his disclosures to the media about his work for the FBI.

In the last renewal application, dated June 2017, the FBI continued to state that it believed Mr. Steele’s information “credible,” given that his “previous reporting” had been “corroborated and used in criminal proceedings.”

Haven't seen an article describing this.  Only thing I recall is the series of hit pieces on Biden related to his pressuring the firing of a Ukrainian prosecutor and the associated conflicts of interest with a firm the employed his son. If you want me to comment on it, would be happy to do so with a link.  Maybe in the Biden thread?

History?  Holder was held in contempt also.

I’m not sure if I remember correctly, was Holder held in contempt over stonewalling, misleading the American people and congress regarding the concealment of the president’s crimes related to an attack on American democracy by a hostile foreign power?

Or was it over some bullshit that ended up amounting to nothing?

Seems like these cases might be different or perhaps even a false equivalency.

Barr being held in contempt of Congress is uniquely different than the Holder deal in that, for one, it stands to place in stark contrast the motives and credibility of the Attorney General against the anticipated public testimony of the Special Counsel.

so nadler says that barr was acting like trump's personal attorney, not like the attorney general for the people of the united states.

we already heard from trump's personal attorney, and he sang like a canary.

wonder what barr will be thinking in a couple years when he looks back at this whole chapter of his life.

I like Gil and wished this would have happened to almost any other libtard here, but the demonstration of desperation for confirmation bias here rises to the level of performance art.

At least Gil got Tripplehorn worked up for a bit.

let me say this again

EVERY LIBTARD HERE LOVED THAT HOLDER FLIPPED OFF CONGRESS AND IGNORED CONGRESSIONAL SUBPOENA.

unlike Barr, whose only transgression is to tell you what is contained in an investigative report that is now publically available....Holder allowed for evidence to disappear and kept any "investigation" from moving forward whatsoever.

take the loss, pussies.

and prepare for Bill Barr to piss you off MUCH more in the coming months while Joe Biden kills your chances in 2020.

Yeah, it's everyone on this board, except you and the other Trumpkins that has the honesty problem. You keep arguing those alternative facts, I bet Onboard and Chrispy think you're fighting the good fight.

Hi, not a libtard, was actually very unhappy with Holder during fast and furious. I'm even more pissed with the Barr situation. Also, the two aren't comparable and were very different situations.

Holder produced thousands of documents at the committee's request, and started resisting when he decided it was a fishing expedition. It's not acceptable, but it was predicated with complying and making an effort to work with the committee.

Barr hasn't produced any documents for any house committees, and begged the president to assert privilege to buy some more time. Barr's DOJ has not worked in good faith with the committees, and is stonewalling constitutionally required oversight from a co-equal branch

You should just concede and admit that you cannot point out the lie in my assessment.  The WaPo piece you posted is superficial rubbish and the author should be embarrassed. You should be embarrassed for posting it here without even attempting to engage your brain in evaluating the content before hand. You either can't or don't want to address the points I made, so you just call me a liar.  Easier that way. And now you attempt to align me with others rather than address my own words. I thought maybe you were SPII reincarnated from the scat site, but I have to rethink that assessment.  He didn't have the shit for brains that you demonstrate.

Quote

Those two statements are perfectly consistent with one another and you're lying out both sides of your face when you claim they aren't

You are the one making the claim that Memo 80 and the Mueller report contradict each other. You've shown no credible evidence to that effect. You then followed that lie up with more of your bullshit claims that Steele got disinformation from Russia and that is somehow a problem for the guy who ran the MI6 moscow desk. You are lying and trying to troll. I'll stick with the Washington Post, which has been winning Pulitzers while you've been embarrassing yourself.

I think that's its hilarious that you keep quoting yourself as proof that I lied. Quote my lie, in my own words, from my post.

You can't. What I did do was list a number of very specific claims made in that particular memo, and determine whether they were supported by findings in the Mueller report. I did, you know, the thing that the author of the piece purported as their intent with the title "What the Steele dossier said vs. what the Mueller report said". The very specific claims that I highlighted from memo 80 were, of course, not supported, but conveniently omitted from the comparison. Pointing this out triggered your reflexive need to dismiss my assessment as a lie rather than engage in some critical thinking. It's ok. I don't expect you to be an honest person at this point and admit that there was no lie other than the strawman of your own making.
