I can't wait to hear the talking points from the resident water heads on this board. I think they were prepared for acquittal and now don't know what the fuck to do, but I bet it will be fascinating to see what they come up with.

Ana calling out Rubio and Co., probably some hate there because she’s a libtard Republican on CNN and ABC and from Nicaragua.

Kimmel tonight:  Hunter was convicted on 3 felony charges, which means now he's only 31 away from being the Republican nominee for President

That's ridiculous. Hunter Biden needs at least five bankruptcies first.

I just read about this on Law360 and it said the prosecution used some evidence off of the laptop? What else was supposed to be on that thing that the wingnuts keep crowing about? If it was that bad wouldn't there be charges way more serious than this bullshit?

Apparently, FBI agent Erika Jensen confirmed that the laptop itself was authentic in the sense that it belonged to Hunter Biden and was left by him with that weird fuck in the tam o'shanter.

The data actually testified to by Jensen was mostly Whatsapp, iMessage, and texts, all of which I believe could have been obtained from other devices and the cloud.

It was far from an endorsement that everything on the laptop was authentic or incriminating.

It's this article (sub needed but nothing new really). This is the line I'm referring to:

"Much of the evidence that prosecutors presented during the five-day trial in Wilmington was retrieved in part from Biden's own laptop, which federal authorities obtained after Biden left it at a repair shop in Wilmington in April 2019."

https://www.law360.com/articles/1846444

It's kind of vague (i.e., "much" of the evidence obtained "in part" from the laptop, but the clear implication is that at least some of the direct evidence used at trial was taken from the laptop.

And my main question is, the wingnuts made such a huge deal about the laptop, as if there was super serious crimes involved, but this is all they charged him with after obtaining posession of the laptop? Just shows their characterizations of it were absolute and complete bullshit.

I think substantial questions remain as to whether a good deal of the information contained on the laptop is authentic, or at least usable in court authentic because of the number of unauthorized "hands" through which the laptop passed.

I think the "in part" is key there, because they seemed mostly to use "text messages" in his trial to show what he was saying and doing in the relevant time period, ie seeking out crack in October 2018 when he bought the gun.  Those "texts" would seem likely to have come from iCloud or other sources (his phone) at least as much as the laptop itself.

And Gymmy Jordan and Jimmy Comer, the "Jimmy hats," as well as that Zeigler turd have been all through the laptop and can't even come up with an impeachable offense, much less a crime.  And that's before you get to any questions about whether the evidence from the laptop is actually authentic.

But yeah, FBI has been all through it and hasn't seen fit to charge Hunter with anything beyond this and tax evasion.

If we're all (both sides!) so concerned about drug users and guns, maybe we should require drug tests prior to buying a gun.  Right?

No, because that would infringe on Republicans' individual liberties.  It's everybody else's individual liberties that don't count.

Good points. Maybe it wasn’t a shitty thing to do at all.

This is one of those weird things where you think women don't have their own agency, isn't it? And, again, what is the moral issue here? Why can't two people who experienced loss find comfort in each other?

I don't think that's fair.  It is initially a little cringey, but yeah when you think it through as consenting, unrelated adults, it's maybe not that big a deal assuming no one is taking advantage.

There is a non-negligible chance that Hunter was taking advantage.  That's what addicts do.

Yeah, she really shouldn't be taking advantage of an addict like that.

You are right. I don’t know why I thought this was a shitty thing to do.  It just seems to me that even if a sibling/family member were dead, there are still things that are sacred. Maybe I’m just old school like that.

For real though, the D's should propose a bill to require drug tests for gun purchases. If it passes ... good. If the R's block it, it just exposes them, again, as the hypocrites they are.

They're exposed everyday and no one cares or pays attention.

so let me get this straight...

a) 2022: 25% of Americans (70 million people) admitted they use illicit drugs, according to the most recent National Survey on Drug Use.

b) 2020: Pew and Harvard and Northeastern surveys found that 22% of individuals, or about 72 million people, reported owning a gun.

The DOJ has a lot of work ahead of them.

either you misread what he wrote or completely misunderstood it. either way, it was not a racist statement

Who do you think the prohibition on drug addicts owning firearms is designed to prevent from owning firearms? Adding extra constitutional violations to it just makes it extra hard for those people to exercise their rights.

Trump’s DOJ is totally out of control here! Going after the President’s son is 100% political, and shouldn’t ever be tolerated in this country.

Wait, what? This is the second time “Biden’s DOJ” has gotten a felony conviction against Hunter? Obviously just a deep state thing to make it look like they aren’t totally corrupt. I’ve had enough of these socialist fascists that love their communism so much. Free Trump! Also, lock her up.

^^ Some variance of that has been said somewhere in all seriousness.
