Reminds me that I need to get a Bijan jersey tshirt for my eldest. She was crestfallen when I explained that Bijan wouldn’t be on UTs roster this season, but she could still support him in the NFL.

He's making NFL defenders look stupid.  What a special talent and what an absolute moron Tom Herman was for having this dude ride the bench as a freshman.

I bet he would have had more playing time if it weren’t for the unfortunate scorpion vs tech.

Falcons are stupid if they use Bijan as a kickoff returner...

Didn’t Wane McGarity bang up a knee returning kicks in 1998? He was a can’t lose guy that year. Or perhaps I’m losing my mind.

Kickoffs are not returned as much. I think it's maybe 40% were not ruled touchbacks last year.

There's also the new inside the 25 fair catch rule just this year, so that number will likely decrease.

But, they're still idiots to use him as a returner.

He got booted for weed didn’t he?

You may be thinking of the lead up to the Cotton Bowl. Kwame, Humphrey and Jj Kelly were suspended.

As for McGarity, he got injured in 1997 returning kickoffs. Terrible decision on Mackovics part.

Rookie spotlight for the ATL fans.

That was awesome.

Thanks for posting it.

What a special kid and great player he is. One of the greatest athletes to ever represent the University Of Texas.

He will start against the Bengals on Friday.

From the AJC:

Quote

Robinson is set to start when the Falcons (1-0) host the Bengals (0-1) in the exhibition home opener at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

He has had a strong training camp while learning the intricacies of several positions in the Falcons’ offense. Robinson, along with 35 other players, were held out of the exhibition opener at Miami.

“They all need to play at some point,” Falcons coach Arthur Smith said. “You’re trying to play the long game, too. He’s going to play. We’re not going to go crazy. We just need the reps.”

Don’t expect a full load for Robinson or the rest of the starters.

“We need to get out our bread and butter and concepts in there and see his tracks,” Smith said. “We are not going to sit there and show everything, but we need to execute well.”

Just the basics for Robinson.

“So, he can feel the speed, there’s a little bit more speed than he’s felt out there in practice,” Smith said. “He’ll get tackled, and we’ll get ready to go for Sept. 10 (the regular-season opener against Carolina).”

The funny part of above quote is that NFL defenses will have a much more difficult time adjusting to Bijan... 😋

55 needs to go back and pick up his jock.

Lol. It’s a 1 on 1 drill with a LB and he’s running juke routes. He’s supposed to win easily.

If those idiots break Bijan using him as a KR..

No words

Pretty sure after watching that flip scorpion he had he's nearly unbreakable. I guess the arm thing was pretty bad but kind of a freak accident.

I agree though he should be used as a running back and wide out.

Thank fuck for that. Very soon we will have a few glorious weeks with nothing but football.

Also, Bijan may singlehandedly bring the run game back to the NFL...we shall see.

He’s going to take the RB position into the future. He’s going to build off of what backs like Roger Craig and LT started and what McCaffery is currently doing. He’s going to create mismatches all over the field and will lead to kids wanting to play the position like that.

The problem is that 99.99% of running backs can't do what Bijan does.  The ones who are big enough to run between the tackles and also catch passes like a receiver are very rare.
