Alright let’s get the process started on getting them admitted. Start the public campaign in the media ASAP and resist the urge to respond to the toxic floor speeches and committee hearings, unless of course the response is you F’d around and now you are once again finding out to those who are against this.

You know those people who walk around with the flag the represented Confederate Forces even though the forces were defeated? And many in that group that are also fond of carrying around older versions of the American flag? Those groups are going to object to admitting DC because "you can't change the flag". Count on it.

DC and PR have more residents than Wyoming and Vermont.

DC and PR are promoted.  Wyoming and Vermont are relegated to territory.  There - 50.

Work with me here cause I like your idea. If Vermont being relegated affects Ben & Jerry's ice cream, then deal is off. However, would you consider combining the Dakotas into one state for a Wyoming relegated Dakota merger deal? I don't know the combined population of North and South Dakota, but Kristi Noem seems to be eliminating as many residents as she can.

Well, you see, the president is no longer a threat to our country and the world. The Right still is.

To repeat Greg Sargent's quote from his op-ed:

"If these folks recognize no obligation of any kind to remain tethered to reality in depicting the leftist menace however they see fit, then it's a short leap to justifying anything in response to it. Which is the whole point."

I did not worry about Trump a whole bunch, but his presidency was a toxic mix of ugliness towards fellow citizens combined with racist beliefs put in the storefront window for all to see. That toxicity will weigh on a person’s mind and it caused this general cloud of unhappiness to form over the country as a whole.

Now I look around and see that hazardous toxicity gone for the most part thanks to Trump having no social media outlet. Biden, in comparison, is boring. Boring is an amazing trait for the leader of the free world to have. I’ll gladly enjoy more boring and I suspect most of the country does as well and that includes a lot of people who voted against Biden because they will vote team R no matter what.

Clown.  Show.  All of them.

ETA: you know what's so stupid and fucked up about this?  These braindead morons will forget about this in less than 48 hours, but in the moment, it's just one more thing to add to the pile of bullshit that their brains used to be to continue the boogeyman fantasy they have built up.  They don't even know why anymore, they just know they are supposed to hate the Libs.

Consistently boring.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/04/25/politics/joe-biden-approval-rating/index.html

Quote

The verdict so far has been historically consistent. Biden sports the steadiest approval rating on record for a president through nearly 100 days in office.

Looking at the average poll, his approval rating sits at right around 54%. You see this in data released on Sunday from ABC News/Washington Post (52% approve), CBS News/YouGov (58% approve), Fox News (54% approve) and NBC News (53% approve).

Quote

What makes Biden unique is that his approval rating at the beginning of his presidency was a very similar 53%. In fact, if you were to average the polls on any given day, you'll see that Biden's approval rating has never gone higher than 55% or even reached as low as 52% during the more than three months he's been in office. It's averaged a little less than 54%.

The range of results has traded within a band of less than 3 points. To put it mildly, this is an extremely narrow range. The median difference between the highest average approval rating a president had and lowest during their first 100 days in office has been 9.5 points.

both

Biden’s team seem to have continued the same strategy as what won the election. He’s keeping a low profile. And this board is excessively obsessed with the loonies on the right too.

Hopefully Biden stays healthy because Kamala ain’t it. Listen to her answer on immigration here. Totally incoherent.

What is incoherent about it? Her position is that we need to improve the conditions in the migrants' home countries so that they don't feel the need to leave. While not expressed cleanly and while it isn't obvious that she has a very good command of the specifics, the overall policy approach is at least coherent and reasonable.

It's not excessively obsessed. We're just overwhelmed by the amount of dumb shit coming from that side of the aisle that there is a lot to cover. The far right loonies are the aggy of the political world; it's fascinating to watch and observe.

And there is a reason why places like TexAgs are far right and bought into the qanon shit for so long.

Apparently competently doing your job everyday and not calling into Fox News to screech about witch hunts and holding rallies = keeping a low profile

It really chaps their ass Biden just does his job without fanfare. POTUS doesn’t need to be in the news 24/7 or something is wrong.

And according to the polls, Americans are responding to his competency and leadership.

The main story is still going to be how in 2016 Republicans elected a retarded failed-businessman President of the United States, and they still think he’s a rock star.

I’ve seen multiple comments from our resident aggy coming at Biden for not being progressive enough. This while of course decrying Democrats as a socialist, cancel culture cabal. It would be sad if it wasn’t funny.

Yeah I don’t believe they’ll get 9x the money back from catching people loose with their taxes. Wealthy people that pay less taxes do so through legal means. Inevitably these resources being provided to the IRS will have to be used somewhere and they’ll likely hassle more regular people than anybody else. But yeah let’s give the IRS more money to go after people.

It's not really "giving the IRS more money to go after people", it's undoing the systemic defunding that the GOP subjected the IRS to since the tea party took control back in 2012.

IRS Enforcement Severely Depleted
