What is crazy about my sister, is she has had bad asthma since birth.
She and her husband were stationed in Spain about 1985 and she had bad attack and was hospitalized.  Me and my other sis went to Houston to get passports cause she might not make cause she was intubated.

You would think somebody who has been there would do anything not to be there again.
We need to absolutely kill this right wing bullshit that this is leftist or against freedumbs.

Saw this yesterday on a thread i think, then later last night after my Mond let go of hail merry it occurred to me that the mayor seems to believe that access and knowledge are the problem for the docs, that he can fix by showing up with some ivermectin and some truth. As if the hospital doesn’t have and can’t get ivermectin.  I’m sure parasitic infections are quite common around lake of the ozarks.

This is my brother. Bad ashtma still as an adult and has to use his inhaler almost daily. Lungs are all sorts of fucked up and he is still saying he won't get it. He isn't very political but his in laws are but I am not sure what his reasoning is. He is literally only alive because of fucking medicine. He was at Childrens Dallas pretty much monthly with asthma issues when we were growing up. I don't understand it and I keep fucking trying but he won't get the damn vaccine.

Quick edit: My mom in a group text asked him why? He responded "I don't get flu shots and I am still here"

I guess that is his reasoning what a fucking moron

Hope he sees the light before it is too late. Don’t know y’all’s situation but maybe send him some pics of people in ICU. Say “dude I don’t give a fuck what you believe but I love you and want you around so I can give you shit at family picnic.”

Hope all works out.

So is incest but we don't see anybody recommending it.

Missouri is such a weird state.  Some really awesome areas and cities/towns, but also still got some Arkansas in them.

If my brother said something that stupid I’d start hoping he catches a bad case.  Dumb should hurt.

My aunt is in the hospital.  Unvaxxed senior citizen.  That entire branch of the family tree was poisoned by her now dead evangelical husband.  None are vaxxed.  I’ve run out of fucks to give.  Whatever happens happens.

Nice. Think I will go this weekend and get my 1st Pfizer. Wink wink.
Seriously though do pharmacies have both and they ask you or do you have to research where your previous is being administered?

When I signed up on CVS, I selected pfizer (because that's what I'd had before) and it only showed options that had pfizer.

Important to know that he keeps his boat at the marina. Makes the case for Ivermectin all that more compelling. I will be praying that Dennis Newberry and Dennis Meiser's family both STFU about Ivermectin and let the doctors and nurses who trained for a combined bajillion hours do their jobs with their own expertise.

JNJ start to release some of their two shot regimen data.  No efficacy data I see.

https://www.jnj.com/johnson-johnson-announces-data-to-support-boosting-its-single-shot-covid-19-vaccine

In July, the Company reported interim Phase 1/2a data published in the New England Journal of Medicine that demonstrated neutralizing antibody responses generated by the Johnson & Johnson single-shot COVID-19 vaccine were strong and stable through eight months after immunization.

In anticipation of the potential need for boosters, the Company conducted two Phase 1/2a studies in individuals previously vaccinated with its single-shot vaccine. New interim data from these studies demonstrate that a booster dose of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine generated a rapid and robust increase in spike-binding antibodies, nine-fold higher than 28 days after the primary single-dose vaccination. Significant increases in binding antibody responses were observed in participants between ages 18 and 55, and in those 65 years and older who received a lower booster dose. The study summaries were submitted to medRxiv on August 24.

Just got my Moderna booster in cedar park.  No questions asked, second initial dose was first week of March but being married to an educator + unvaccinated young kiddos = wanted to get it done now.

Link for anyone interested…never got a confirmation email or anything, but I was in the system:  https://portal.gorev.com/preregister.aspx?s=JoVdzXWbZQ2gQxn7b2zAUg%3d%3d&f=9LZqFYfNjGnUWxG4cOtfXw%3d%3d&l=NNwEBfPJTAkRyf2X4Dd38Q%3d%3d

Ninefold increase sure does sound good, though.

Oh, and if you thought that, for most anti-vaxxers, FDA approval wouldn't move the needle at all, because their decisionmaking is fundamentally irrational and not tethered to any reality, you'd be right:

Quote

We wanted to see if the FDA's approval had changed the minds of those who don't want to get the shot.

“Absolutely not,” former Houston Methodist nurse Jennifer Bridges said. “And for a lot of reasons.”

Bridges is among the former Houston Methodist employees who filed state and federal lawsuits against the hospital system after they were told to pick between a vaccine and their jobs.

RELATED: 153 Houston Methodist employees who refused to get the COVID-19 vaccine have resigned or been fired

“What I question is if this is so safe and effective, everybody and their mother would be rushing to it,” Bridges said. “You would not have to pay people, bribe them, coerce them, threaten them to do it.”

The nurse said full FDA approval isn’t enough to convince the employees who were let go from the hospital to get a shot.

Because reasons.  If it's so safe and effective, everybody and their mother would be rushing to it!  Ummmm.....

Quote

The biggest vaccination campaign in history is underway. More than 5.02 billion doses have been administered across 183 countries, according to data collected by Bloomberg. The latest rate was roughly 36.4 million doses a day.

In the U.S., 364 million doses have been given so far. In the last week, an average of 860,114 doses per day were administered.

Over 5 billion doses of ANYTHING definitely falls into the "everybody and their mother" category.

Nothing will convince the insane morons.  Nothing.

It's confusing because in a related NPR written article discussing the interview, they seem to imply that he was specifically referring to full approval - not to emergency use authorization.

Parents and caregivers may have to wait until the end of 2021 before a COVID-19 vaccine is fully approved for young children ages 5 to 11. The news comes from Dr. Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, in an interview with NPR's Morning Edition.

Collins said both Pfizer and Moderna are still collecting trial data, trying to understand — among other things — whether young children should receive a smaller vaccine dose than what has already been approved for adults.

Pfizer could submit its data to the Food and Drug Administration for review by the end of September, Collins said. But he added, "I've got to be honest, I don't see the approval for kids — 5 to 11 — coming much before the end of 2021."

While full FDA approval is likely several months away, Pfizer's vaccine could be cleared for emergency use earlier, possibly in October, after the submission of its trial data.

. I'm still holding out hope for October.

Aunt is now on a vent.  Her kids are still not vaccinated, nor are her eligible grandchildren.  And they’re very proud of the fact that they’re not vaccinated.  These were completely normal people 10-15 years ago.

I'm sorry.  And I'm furious on your behalf.

Assuming you are Christian, God gave Mankind numerous gifts, among them the top intellect among all creatures.  Man has used that intellect to create many things that improved our health and survival: we can build shelters from the elements, we developed tools to help us grow crops to feed billions, we have developed tools to fight fires, to fight bacterial infections, to perform "miraculous" surgeries to cure complex conditions, to create immunotherapies that knock back cancer......all of those things flow from the singular gift that God gave Mankind.  Yet this ONE thing -- this particular vaccine -- well, that doesn't fit with all of the other things man has developed to make his life better.  Because.....reasons.

Delta doesn't want to run afoul of Kemp and the GA legislature by "mandating" vaccines, so are having to be clever on how to force the issue.

Basically, this.  Thankfully most of the Georgia government is so fucking stupid and morally corrupt that they'll just see this as free market solutions over a socialistic mandate regarding vaccines.  Then about 48 hours from now, they'll wake up in a cold sweat and posit the argument, "Charging more for personal choices and freedoms is UnAmerican!!!!!"  And they'll attempt to make it illegal for health/life insurance companies to charge more for smokers and chronic heroin users.

It's impossible we're this fucking stupid.  But here we are.  Every insane fucking idea we can think of that these people will say and do to justify their moronic belief system, is constantly usurped by what they actually come up with in real life.  Every fucking time.

Just found out that my immunocompromised mom who can't get vaccinated (Dr's orders) was exposed on Monday by a coworker that decided to come in sick to work.  Worked the full day, felt worse yesterday and got tests.  Yes, coworker is a relatively healthy young person who didn't get vaccinated.  Fuck

It is what it is.  My uncle died a few years ago.  A very rare form of cancer.  They tried every experimental treatment known to mankind, even had an apartment in Houston (they live in DFW) so he could be at M.D. Anderson as often as was required.  They threw the kitchen sink at his cancer, but rolling up your sleeve and getting a shot during the middle of a pandemic is apparently a bridge too far.  You don’t need to be furious on my behalf, I’ve more than got that covered.
