I saw this for the first time a few months ago. Tom Hanks is probably my favorite actor of all time. This movie is not good.

It’s meh, but has some scenes and lines that crack me up just thinking about them.

The bathtub scene kills me.

The pizza driver and accompanying song is used plenty when I make our kids pizza at the house.

1. It's not obscure

2. It's not an Oscar worthy movie, but comedies never are. It stands up pretty well.

When I was at UT they used to show this movie on late night tv called How I Spent My Summer Vacation with Peter Lawford and Robert Wagner.  For some reason every time it came on my roommate and I would get high and watch it.  I still have no idea what it’s about.

Was your senior thesis, "The Lawford-Wagner Theory" by chance?  (pcu)

I was a kid, shit crumbling and crashing down was entertaining to me, lol.

Agreed, but many listed above are in no way obscure.

True, my One on One reference really isn't that obscure either, but you never see it screened much anymore.  Deadshank said it was ripe for a remake, and I'd agree.

Krull was my first exposure to the phenomenon of a movie not holding up over time. I first watched it on HBO when I was 7 or so, and then I saw it again only a couple of years later, and 9 or 10-year-old me was disgusted with how terrible it was. I was embarrassed to think about how much I had liked it the first time around.

I really is terrible, but didn’t realize at the time.

Videodrome, on the other hand, is still bizarrely awesome

But most would have heard of it.  Therefore, not obscure.

I disagree — it’s really a cult thing.  But in the spirit of Thanksgiving, I will not argue further, and just stick with my first 2 submissions.

I don't wanna live in a country where you can't argue about obscure movies on Thanksgiving...

Quaid, Cassevetes, Sheen, Ozzy Osbourne and cool 80s cars. Love it!

The great Dabney Coleman and one of the best and most unappreciated car chases in movie history imo. Great flick

Loaded. Goldie Hawn, Woody Harrelson, Wesley Snipes, Mykelti Williamson, Nipsy Russell, Bruce McGill, Swoozy Kurtz, and M Emmet Walsh. Hilarious and great football flick.

Loved Kidco. Haven’t thought about that movie in 100 years. Not sure how obscure this one is but:

I do know this movie was hard AF to find on VHS in the 80’s.

This movie was terrible but I loved it. Farmer kid goes to Dallas to buy an exotic car  that ends to bring a POS. Hot car salesgirl tried to get him to cancel his wedding.

Man, Gotcha...saw that when it came out. With her movie accent and “yes, I am spy” attitude, I thought she was the sexiest woman I’d ever seen. And in her prime...I think I win that argument.
