Stories like the 20 year old do nothing for me. What's the difference between that and someone winning the lottery?

No kidding. You seldom here the millions of stories about people who have lost everything in the market. Except in the Stonk thread.

Raises hand in IBRX….

Bed Bath and beyond now looking at restructuring so I think the people who got out are the only ones who will “win”.  Hiring a restructuring law firm is usually step one.

There's some nutso loss porn on wallstreetbets from BBBY bagholders who missed the pump and got dumped

Some market gurus are starting to worry that the summer rally on Wall Street may be starting to fizzle, after stocks lurched from oversold to overbought.

Gene Goldman, chief investment officer of Cetera Financial Group, explained that stocks are likely headed for a pullback, even though the economy is in better shape than many Americans might recognize.

“There’s been plenty of great news, but the market needs a little bit of a pause. We’ve moved a little too fast, too quickly, right now,” Goldman said in a phone interview with MarketWatch.

To support this view, he pointed to a handful of reasons that Friday’s slump in stocks might continue into next week, and possibly longer — even though he remains bullish on stocks over a longer time horizon.

Yeah of you're ever feeling bad, just peruse wallstreetbets. You'll find some poor fuck with tens of thousands in debt that's lost hundreds of thousands in the market and now has $500 to win it all back with.

Ouch

(but I do own more BRK.B calls - so I got that going for me; and I'll pick more up if it continues to fall.....waiting a couple of days to verify)

Put an order in at 20% lower, you may just get your wish.

I still have some open orders for calls, if the hit great....if not then the ones I have are going up in price (at least that is how it is supposed to work)

Lol. What did the market expect to hear? "Eh, inflation is still 9%, but it went down slightly this past month. I think we're done here."

Still a lot of money on the sidelines that got suckered into the rally by some positive earnings reports and a “peaking” of inflation so the Feds gotta let up soon right? Oh and Cramer said the bottom of the bear market was set by June lows. Ha!

The beatings will continue until morale improves..

Even my “safe” account which is mostly cds, conservative bonds and cash has taken an ass kicking this week.  Down about one percent over the past month.

And my 401k is approaching pre COVId levels.  Good thing I was only thinking of retiring soon.

An improveder meme would be a printer that prints money with my face sniffing it like fresh baked cinnamon rolls before it slides directly to the furnace

Even betterer: A printer that prints money with your face sniffing it like fresh baked cinnamon rolls before Jeff Bezos consumes it and shits it into the furnace.
