Thrown out of the house in case of frost
Youtuber lets woman die in livestream

The Russian Youtuber Reeflay repeatedly abuses his girlfriend in front of the camera. The argument escalates in his latest video. The 30-year-old puts the woman in front of the door when the temperature is below zero. Hours later, she’s dead. And the stream continues.
In Russia, a woman died during a live stream from a Youtuber. Instead of turning off the camera, the man, who was apparently in a toxic relationship with the 26-year-old, continued to film himself until the paramedics arrived. The 30-year-old was arrested. As the news portal Meduza reports, citing the investigative committee of the Moscow region, there is no evidence of an act of violence. However, it seems that the Youtuber of all people caused the death of the 26-year-old.

In his streams, Stas Reshetnikov – better known on the Internet as Reeflay – filmed himself while playing in online casinos. In addition, most of his transmissions have been accompanied by disputes and conflicts with the 26-year-old Valentina. He was violent several times: in one of the videos he sprayed Valentina pepper spray on the face, in other clips he hit the woman and verbally humiliated her.

This time the young man went way too far: During the broadcast from a single-family house in the village of Ivanovka near Moscow, Reshetnikov threw the 26-year-old out into the street half-naked in sub-zero temperatures. Valentina begged him to let her in again, but the blogger streamed on unwaveringly.

“Shit I think she’s dead”

When the 30-year-old opened the door several hours later, Valentina was already unconscious. While the camera continued to run, Reshetnikov tried to revive it – in vain. “Shit, I think she’s dead,” the blogger commented on what happened to his viewers. Then he put the body on a couch and called the rescue workers.

While he was waiting for the helpers to arrive, the man sat down again in front of the camera – to see the corpse in the background – and said to his followers: “She was my best friend.” Apparently a spectator then asked whether the woman was really dead or whether it was just a production. Reshetnikov replied: “She is really dead”. It was only when the rescue workers entered the house and asked the 30-year-old to turn off the camera that the transmission stopped.

According to a report by the news site Baza, the 30-year-old is said to have said during the interrogation that he had thrown the woman out “so she doesn’t stink.” The 26-year-old had a bowel disease and the blogger is said to have decided to “punish” her in this way.

It has been reported that Valentina Grigoryeva who may have been pregnant, was outside for a number of hours in sub-zero temperatures wearing little clothing at his apartment in Ivanovka village, near Moscow. Some say that Reshetnikov was paid $1,000 by a viewer to throw her out during his live stream, while others said he kicked her out to the balcony after they had a fight. According to a report by the news site Baza, the 30-year-old is said to have said during the interrogation that he had thrown the woman out “so she doesn’t stink.” The 26-year-old had a bowel disease and the blogger is said to have decided to “punish” her in this way. However, according to neighbors, she was only outside for a short period of time, and the cause of her death is still undetermined.

Stanislav Reshetnikov, the host of YouTube channel ReeFlay, filmed himself dragging his girlfriend, Valentina, down the hall and on to a sofa in his home. Then, speaking to the camera, at his desk in front of the body, he wept as he blamed himself for what had happened. “I tell you,” he added, “she seems to be dead.” He refused to end the live stream, despite requests from authorities, who had arrived at his home in the Russian capital in response to an emergency call.

Valentina, who the blogger said he thought was “about 26,” was a regular feature on the ReeFlay channel, and was often the butt of the YouTuber’s jokes and pranks. In one video, he poured pepper sauce on her face, while in another she threatened him with a knife during a heated argument.

In the footage, he can be seen carrying her back inside and attempting to revive her.

He is heard saying: “Valya, are you alive? My bunny, what’s up with you? Valya, Valya, damn, you look like you are dead. Bunny, come on… tell me something. I'm worrying. Damn... I'm not feel her heartbeat. Guys... No pulse... She’s pale. She is not breathing. Wake up, Valya, I love you, wake up.”

The broadcast continued to his tens of thousands of followers for two hours after she had died, even after he called an ambulance. He continued filming as the paramedics pronounced her dead.

“What is there to regret? I didn’t really do anything,” the blogger said, claiming that he had called the ambulance himself.

Baza reports that Reshetnikov was taken to hospital by authorities, who could be heard on the live-stream telling him that they “would work out” who was responsible. According to Olga Vradiy, an official at the Moscow region Investigative Committee, inquiries have now begun to determine how the girl died and whether anyone is criminally liable.

Reshetnikov faces up to 15 years in prison. He has been charged with intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm, which resulted in death. Valentina was found to have a head injury and other signs of a beating.

You think domestic violence didn't exist before streaming? Social Media has helped bring abuse to light and helped make people safer.
