Do they still hit the drum as the snap count?

My first game as a freshman at Westlake was against them. Different experience for sure. Congratulations.

I believe so. How does it work with the whistles on plays?

Saw this the other day on local DFW tv. Had to drop down to 6 man due to enrollment. Cool story for them.

Thats good news,  glad we're finally getting out in front of this.

Well, coaches love kids who play through the whistle.

Used to play them in bball when I was at a private middle school in Austin. Super physical athletes with at least a couple guys that were held back a year on their teams. They would play through the whistle every play. They only stopped when they see a flashing light on their scoreboards where the buzzer was always way too loud or if our team just stood still after a ref stopped play.

Coach never had to worry about the other team hearing plays during timeouts which were always oddly quiet.

We were instructed to stop moving and stand still. They also have a strobe light on their scoreboards that turns on when a whistle is blown.
