He's gotta be the highest net worth person ever to use the site.

Does crypto really count towards net worth, or is it just the modern equivalent of inflating the value of real estate so you can borrow more money?   How fungible is Bitcoin, really?  I'm genuinely asking as I know absolutely nothing about it and have operated under the assumption it's just part of the Web 3.0 scam that those grifting tech assholes have been running for a few years, along with NFTs and most of the current AI bullshit.

I'd say it's one of the few cryptocurrencies that is taken seriously in the business and lending world. I'm not a finance guy though so maybe someone more knowledgeable can chime in on that.

he should have focused  silk road on crypto buying and trading. he'd be very rich and wouldn't have been in jail for 10 years

Technically he did focus on crypto trading, except the "trading" was for goods and services.

zero idea how bitcoin was bought and sold back then ....

https://www.coinbase.com/converter/btc/usd

BTC/USD: 600000 Bitcoin equals $62,708,283,000.00 USD

Dude, that's $62.7 billion.  But the original post said 600,000 bitcoins at 21,000 each.  That's 1.26 X 10^10 (or 12.6 X 10^9).  10^9 is a billion, not a trillion.

Bitcoin isn't useful for anything except hoping it goes up in value to sell to a greater fool. If you want to spend it, it's a huge hassle and all but requires you to use a 3rd party for trust in the transaction. And at that point, you're just using a slower and shittier and more expensive debit card

Thanks.  That's sounds about like what I thought.
