Aggy being emasculated by OSU.

"Just shows Clemson shouldn't have been in the playoff, either." - aggy

Can’t believe we’re arguing about this. Head down contact with anything is a ticket to paralysis. All through HSFB in the 1990s we were taught never to come with our heads down and to look at what we were tackling.

Hell, in swimming my coach would explode with rage if he caught an athlete goofing around and doing shallow block dives with heads down and arms at the side, not breaking the water. If you glance off the water wrong like that, you’ll float face down like a starfish unless someone pulls you out on a backboard. You’ll never walk again.

I don't understand how OSU keeps trotting Sermon out there, and he's still fresh. Tom Mensa Herman told me that RBs have to be substituted every other series.

Sermon is just a piece of meat to OSU coaches.

Ohio State started doing it in 2014, and got a LOT better for it.  Seems we've fallen back from that more recently though.

yeah it was talked about a bunch 4-5 years ago when the movie came out.  the funny thing is half the plays on the clip have the tacklers head across the bow and ducked down which is exactly what the LBer was trying to do until Fields spun into his helmet

Rugby is more of a drag/wrestle to the ground style of tackling. In football, where yards & inches are paramount, you need to tackle in a way stops the runner dead cold in his tracks.

We still have lines to defend.

the crown starts from right above the facemask.
the drill that was done years ago you actually hit with the portion of the helmet from the facemask to the "top" of the helmet.

You watched that play and that's where you think the Clemson guy's helmet made contact?

You had your eyes checked lately?

When a swimmer takes off from a starting block, arms and hands are out front and break the water. Every one who tries the sport thinks one day it’s funny to do the same dive but with hands and arms at the side so you sort of faceplant. It’s a shallow dive and so you aren’t hitting the bottom,  but even just hitting the water with the crown of your head at the wrong angle can cause traumatic spinal injury.

With Fields hurt this game isn’t over by a damn sight.  The Sooner will have to win it for tOSU

couch burner OL is mauling legally and holding illegally.  good coaching by Day.  he knows the Big 12 refs won't call holding.  keep doing it and its over.

Hit him with crown of helmet. Used to be called spearing. It’s been illegal for 40+ years

Didn't used to get tossed for it.  15 yd penalty yes.  Ejection - nope.
