Lulz. If you want to beat most teams with a winning percentage under .500, Rhule's your guy. If you want to beat good teams, you're proper fucked. we're coming up on 10 seasons since a Rhule coached team beat a ranked opponent (Temple 2015). Dude is a fraud/chode (take your pick, or take both).

I don't. Rhule is a fraud. He stole money from Carolina and is stealing money from Nebraska.

What happened at Baylor was a fluke.

Major loss for Nebraska.

(Sean Callahan) Report: Nebraska's Tony White expected to be next defensive coordinator at Florida State

Quote

Earlier this season, Nebraska head coach Matt Rhule made a change at offensive coordinator. It appears he will be looking for a new defensive coordinator. According to Warchant.com of the On3 Network, NU’s Tony White is expected to be the next defensive coordinator at Florida State. White leaves NU after just two seasons. In 2023, the Huskers were ranked 11th in total defense (303.5 yards per game) and 19th in 2024 (315.4 yards per game).

He’ll take over an FSU defense that ranked 87th nationally (385.9 yards per game) in 2024. The Noles finished 2-10 after going 13-1 in 2023. Mike Norvell fired both offensive coordinator Alex Atkins and defensive coordinator Adam Fuller after FSU’s 1-9 start. UCF head coach Gus Malzahn has already been named Florida State’s offensive coordinator.

Questions now remain at both coordinator spots for Nebraska

Earlier this season, Rhule made a change at offensive coordinator. Rhule brought in former Houston head coach Dana Holgorsen to call plays and demoted Marcus Satterfield to strictly tight ends coach. There are still questions about Holgorsen’s future and whether he plans to be at NU for the bowl game and beyond. With White’s departure, Rhule has another coordinator question. Former Penn State defensive coordinator John Butler is a possible internal candidate.

He could also potentially go back to his former coordinator Phil Snow, who worked with him at multiple stops before Nebraska. Snow was a consultant for the Huskers this season and came to Lincoln during NU’s bye week in November to work with White and the defense. Rhule is not scheduled to speak to reporters this week until signing day on Wednesday.

Oh please let this happen. Probably bullshit

It’s BS, Raiola has confirmed he will remain at NU next season. Another 6-6 season and he certainly won’t be doing a 3rd year there.

White was gonna be gone almost 100%, although many assumed as a head coach.  Butler was hired in the summer and my guess is that he was promised a shot at DC, which he now has.  Raiola will definitely leave once his parents move, his sister quits her job at NU and his uncle takes another coaching job somewhere else other than Nebraska, you can take that to the bank.  Oh and his younger brother commits to another school too, forgot about that.

Mitch Sherman: Nebraska, Matt Rhule plan to scratch Huskers’ spring game amid poaching concerns

Quote

LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska coach Matt Rhule plans to cancel the Huskers’ spring game in part because of concerns that other programs would use the event to poach his roster. “The word ‘tampering’ doesn’t exist anymore,” Rhule said Saturday. “It’s just absolute free, open, common market. And so I don’t necessarily want to open up to the outside world. I don’t want these (other coaches) all being able to watch our guys and say, ‘Wow, he looks like a pretty good player. Let’s go get him.’”

Thirty-one players from the Nebraska roster left to enter the transfer portal after the 2024 season, including 12 who have landed at other Power 4 programs. The Huskers have added 15 players from the portal, all of whom are set to participate in spring practice. Thirteen of the 20 incoming freshmen who signed in December are also on campus in Lincoln for the spring. “To go out and bring in a bunch of new players and then showcase them for all the other schools to watch,” Rhule said, “that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.”

The Big Ten Network televised the Nebraska spring game last year. The event attracted a crowd at Memorial Stadium of 60,452. Nebraska has annually drawn one of the largest crowds in college football to its spring game. Rhule, the third-year Nebraska coach, said he “dealt with a lot of people offering our players a lot of opportunities” after the spring last season. Two scholarship players — reserve defenders Ru’Quan Buckley and Chief Borders — left Nebraska after the spring to enter the portal in April and early May. Buckley landed at Michigan State and Borders at Pitt.

Nebraska athletic director Troy Dannen said on Wednesday that the school would likely still stage something for fans on April 26 at the end of spring practice. It could feature other fall sports teams at the school in something of a preview event, Dannen said. A shrinking roster as a result of the 105-player limit connected to the NCAA v. House settlement also factors into the likely cancellation. In addition, injury concerns exist. Five Nebraska offensive linemen underwent surgeries after the 2024 season. A year ago, two players suffered knee injuries in the spring game that impacted their readiness to play in the fall.

The elimination of spring games appears on track to become a trend amid the high stakes of revenue sharing and soaring NIL earnings in the portal era. UCF also won’t hold a traditional spring game this year, citing reasons similar to the concerns aired Saturday by Rhule. Scott Frost, formerly of Nebraska, coaches the Knights. “It’s like the Home Shopping Network of the spring,” UCF AD Terry Mahajir told the Orlando Sentinel of televised spring games.

Been drinking but IMO a good CSB. Early 2000s and my McNeese squad was scheduled to play Nebraska. As a “small”donor, my football buddy and I bought a ticket to fly with the Cowboys, maybe four months prior.

Living out of Lake Charles and a pharmaceutical rep, I’m in Lafayette and my buddy calls me saying we were not only leaving early, but TODAY at 5:00! There was a hurricane in the Gulf and the school wanted to be ahead of any possible delays.

Frank Solich was the HC of Nebby back then and he couldn’t have been more hospitable to an arriving opponent. He/himself gave us a tour of the locker/weight room and opened the gate to walk on the field.

We flew to NE a day ahead of schedule so with the team hotel/bus etc we went to see “Red Dragon” the Hannibal Lector movie and had a great time. Went to a Lincoln steakhouse afterwards and lo and behold comes some Nebraska Band members and cheer leaders to welcome us to town with their fight song and cheers.

Great game that Saturday, as it was probably Solich’s worst Nebby team. Pokes were really in it to the end, as the sea of red helped keep us out of the EZ towards the end. Our SS “ear holed” their RB in the 1st Qtr and he never came back. That SS was Hadley Prince, the brother of Dooley Prince, Catcher for the ‘05 NC Baseball Team.

I was on the field post-game and Coach Solich walked up to Hadley and said “Son you could play for me any day!”

Hook’em!!!
