Jashaun Corbin, Sophomore

OR Can't be criticized for running the ball a zillion times for 2 yards a carry if you just kneel it every first and second down to wind some clock.

OR Vernon Jackson, Sophomore

OR Can we put a tight end at Running Back?

OR Cordarrian Richardson, Sophomore

OR Jacob Kibodi, Sophomore

OR Brewster promised me he was recruiting us a running back this year. Fuck you, Mack Brown.

OR Deneric Prince, RS Freshman

OR Maybe see if that bucket over there can be a running back?  Just put the ball in it and let's hope it doesn't fumble.

OR Maybe if I grab a guy by the facemask and scream at him the right mystical combination of Appalachian toadman phrases, he will magically turn into Dalvin Cook

OR Can't wait until I get paid this entire $75 million so I can finally launch my Muskrat Jerky empire.

I mean, assuming you're Jimbo "I'm the Smartest Corch Alive" Fisher and had his untempered optimism you were going to turn aTm into a legitimate contender, would YOU want any of those slapdicks on your roster any longer than necessary? That goes double for Jackson unless he's going to suddenly have an epiphany and switch back to the defensive side of the ball.

Loochi is on tilt badly enough that I wonder if his readers actually don’t buy it this time around. Lauding a RB coach for landing a legacy and a defensive lineman? Talking up Sam Adams, who isn’t picking A&M? Talking about still communicating with Zach as if that will help the football team when he’s at Bama?

He should be talking up all the defensive line prospects they’re having on campus this week, not their pyrite running back room and running back recruiting board column

Long story short, there's no way I can guarantee you anything at this point but what I can say is I'm not worried about the Aggies finding a quality tailback in this class.

Expand

Of course they'll get a quality tailback because, for Liucci, if a player chooses A&M he is by definition a quality, SEC material, extremely heterosexual football player.  Just check out Chin Pubes' Top 20. They'll all be right there.

Also Derrick Tucker just got himself arrested

  Quote

The fight began after the two started arguing over tacos. The victim claims he and Tucker got into a mutual physical altercation, which was broken up. The victim then says Tucker fled the scene only to return a few minutes later and strike him in the back of the head.

How Bama, who gets to cherry pick 3*s and who uses an NFL style culling evaluation method, has done with 3*s (stealing this from elsewhere)

Let's start with 2016 247 composite and work our way back since they have at least been 3 seasons in at this point. We'll look at non specialists 3 star players or below that went to Bama, ALL of them for the last several years.

2016
WR T.J. Simmons - Transferred out
TE Miller Forristall - 6 catches in 3 seasons
RB Josh Jacobs - Big hit, drafted 1st round
DE Jamar King - 6 tackles in 3 seasons
TE Irv Smith Jr - big hit, drafted 2nd round
CB Aaron Robinson - Transferred out
LB Shawn Jennings - Transferred out
LB Joe Donald - No stats in 3 seasons
- 2 out of 8 players turned into anything -

2015
DE Christian Bell - Transferred out
DT Jonathan Taylor - Transferred out
S Keaton Anderson - 21 tackles in 4 years (assuming special teamer)
OT Matt Womack - Starter 1 season in 4 years
- 1 out 4 players turned into anything -

2014
DE O.J. Smith - Transferred out
TE Ty Flournoy-Smith - 5 catches in 2 seasons
- 0 out of 2 players turned into anything -

2013
WR Raheem Falkins - Transferred out
CB/S Eddie Jackson - Good player, 4th round pick
OC Bradley Bozeman - 2 year starter, 6th round pick
CB Jonathan Cook - Transferred out
OT Brandon Hill - Transferred out
ILB Walker Jones - 1 tackle in career
QB Parker McLeod - Transferred out
- 2 out of 7 players turned into anything -

2012
DE Dakota Ball - 13 tackles in 4 seasons
CB Deion Belue - 2 year starter at CB, undrafted though
TE Kurt Freitag - Kicked off/transferred
QB Alec Morris - Transferred out
DT Darren Lake - career backup
OT Caleb Gulledge - Transferred out
- 1 out of 6 players turned into anything -

So over that most recent 5 year span, 6 out of 27 3 stars or below, who WEREN'T specialists, turned into anything at Bama. So again, my point stands, Saban isn't some kind of 3-star recruiting savant. Roughly 20% of the 3 stars really do anything at Bama most recently. It's not really different at a lot of other big power 5 recruiting prowess schools either.

The point here is some ridiculous notion Saban has a great eye for the "lesser" (3-star) players than others, it's false. He very very much gets by on all the highly talented guys, not hitting on any sort of high rate on 3-stars.

This is great. I remember looking up a few classes to see Bama’s 3 stars during one of the many Oscar Giles arguments I’ve gotten sucked into and thinking the hit rate was around that but I wasn’t gonna take the time to list them all out to show everyone.

"They (OU) couldn't even beat Georgia - who had something to play for - ..."

They're actually never gonna stop thinking that Georgia just didn't feel like playing football against us. They feel the need to emphasize when they did or didn't have "something to play for" smh

Durrr OU couldn't beat UGA! BDF is not on the same playing field!

LSU going to run right through them!

It's like they willingly block out Texas mauling UGA and Mizzou in back-to-back years.

Until we beat Bama (and it "means" something) they are never going to shut up.   Because that one year, they beat bama so they are a better program, in a better conference.  Any other longhorn win can be excused in their minds.

This is so fun.

All of their RBs would start at 90% of the other college programs.

King is easily the best QB in Texas, but he won't be as good as whoever finally signs with A&M.

Mizzou Georgia LSU will unleash SEC (our!) fury on tu. Just you wait! LSU, we'll hold your coat.

Ever present Aggie circular reasoning about Jimbo. Jimbo is a brilliant recruiter, therefore all of his recruits are great because he recruited them thus Jimbo is a brilliant recruiter. It's part of the canon just like:

  • Close losses to good teams are better than wins against other teams;
  • Even though tu beat us, we beat Baylor by a bigger margin than they did, so we're actually the better team;
  • We don't care about tu, but, goddamn it, we hate it when they say we're not their chief rival; and
  • We're not afraid to play tu.

That was genuinely sad. It's like a bad dream where you have missed all the classes but show up for the final totally fucked.

It looks like if he loses bad weight, he'll be a small, slow OL with no motor. Humiliation is in his future.

If you can’t get up for a NY6 bowl (they did) then you are still the shittier team, just mentally. Their argument is invalid no matter how you spin it.
