A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]

The news this morning said Trump is pissed to learn that pardoning himself may be an admission for civil liability purposes, and Trump said if he can’t pardon himself he’s not going to pardon anybody.

Pardoning yourself is not a thing, and is ridiculous no matter how many times it’s repeated.

My thinking is more in lines with the President has pardon power unless you can prove he was part of the crime.

Many people don't know that right across from the Alamo is a Ripley's and they attacked the Alamo but they didn't attack the Ripley's and I said I think that's great because I love Ripley's.  There's a John Wayne made of wax in the Ripley's.  Maybe there'll be a wax Trump but I don't know.  Outside of the Ripley's there was a Mexican, a little Mexican and I looked at the Mexican and he had a cart.  The little Mexican was pushing a cart and he sold food out of it.  The little Mexican looked at me and said 'Sir, would you like a churro?'  It's like a donut but it's not round it's long but like a donut.  They call it a churro.  But we did really well with the Mexicans but you wouldn't know that if you watch the news.

You’ve really perfected the voice.  Just as infuriating as the real thing.

I dont know who 'you guys' is? I just worry about unchecked technocratic power regardless of what reactionary hypocrites think. And yeah Trumpers calling Biden (the architect of the patriot act, 94 crime bill, anti-universal healthcare, never met a war or bank bailout he didn't like) a communist is hilarious. Shows you how far right the overton windows is in this country.

No it just shows you how illiterate the right is in this country that they don’t know what socialism or communism are, when they use them as the reason they are against all democrats.

The border wall has made us less secure by creating new, bulldozed and smooth points of entry for Mexicans because of the roads built to put it up:

God I hope that’s true. That would be absolutely glorious.

That seems flimsy as hell.  He's going to get his ass sued off civilly no matter what.  I guess an argument exists that there's some form of claim/issue preclusion that arises from it, but that seems like a tough row to hoe.  And it sure as shit doesn't "open a door."  The door to civil suits is already wide open.

As we've discussed, I think self-pardoning really does invite a criminal prosecution that he might not otherwise see.

I talked to my cousin down there (McAllen).  He says police presence is markedly beefed up all around.  He's a very prominent Republican down there (is an Electoral College voter for Texas) and the party could't find enough people to scratch together the usual high-dollar private event during the President's stay (yes, the President still asked for a fundraiser down there even though he's out of office in 8 days).

The Valley Democrats, of which there are many, are obviously opposed to the visit but not planning any mass protest...just the usual lines of protestors among major routes to the wall with signage that says stuff like, 'Hey Trump, it's been 2 years since I've seen my kids asshole!'

But the general vibe is the security risk with him visiting is not worth the visit itself.  Last time he at least pandered a bit and talked to them about transportation issues around the Valley and what the Feds could do to help, and most local leaders being Democrats down there at least felt heard.   This time, he has nothing to offer them except the high probability of a MAGA riot.

thanks for the report.

I lived in the valley for nearly four years, not too far from Alamo. A trump train (since they can't fly- hey oh) along Veteran's Memorial Highway seems to be appropriately despicable.

Oh I agree with you on that one.

I was referring to the potential notion in trumps mind “well if I can’t pardon myself then nobody gets one.” Which is definitely a thought  I can see rattling around in his pea brain.

No pardons for losers Kenny!

That what’s he heard because he’s an idiot. What they said was “it used to take 10 years to develop a vaccine, but due to recent scientific advancements, it can be done much faster”

And what they DID was go make a vaccine, without any contribution by Donald Trump. He’s not a scientist, doesn’t know the difference between a vaccine and an aspirin, and made absolutely no scientific contribution to the vaccine development effort. But of course he’s implying to his stupid nitwit cultists that HE developed the vaccine, and that he did it 10X faster than even the scientists could.

What a fucking con artist.

If Joe Biden is considered liberal the overton window in this country is pretty far right.

*I can't think of any democracy where he would be considered liberal or even center left.

Luxembourg getting it right just in time for page 45

Luxembourg calls Trump a 'criminal' and 'political pyromaniac who should be sent to criminal court'

Quote

"Trump is a criminal, a political pyromaniac who should be sent to criminal court. He's a person who was elected democratically but who isn't interested in democracy in the slightest," Asselborn said in the interview with RTL Radio, per France 24 reporter Philip Crowther. "The 6th of January 2021 was a 9/11 attack on democracy itself, and Trump was the one who egged it on."

Guess that's why the trip was cancelled

There is seriously like a 50/50 chance he wants to go to the Alamo and told his people to book a trip to Alamo TX. Something about making his last stand there.

Oh shit he wants to barricade himself in the Alamo doesn't he.

Somewhere in there is joke about being overrun by the Mexican army, but i'm not enough of a wag to pull if off.

I think I find the fear and uncertainty of Trumpkins regarding prosecution and civil suits to be as gruntling as any suits or cases that actually come.
