I don't think that they would be talking about a coup like this of they didn't think that they have a faction in the military willing to A) neutralize a reaction from the rest of the military, and B) assault the White House and Capitol to arrest or, more likely, kill their opposition.  I hope that I'm wrong, and that they are just squawking out of their asses for the grift.

Meh.  Flynn might actually believe it because he seems totally deluded.

Those actually close to power, or possessing power don't have any belief in this notion, they're just using it to grift the gullible.

1. hold rallies and tell your people that it's happening.
2. when it doesn't happen, tell your people that it is in the process of happening, but it's a unique and expensive legal procedure.
3. do i really need to type out #3?

3. Sitting for hours on shitter after four Big Mac feast while texting out a litany of grievances, all not realizing his pudgy fingers are jabbing the cable remote.

It was shut down because it required more than 140 characters to fill up a screen.  You realize how hard that is for a man on many, many calls and in many, many meetings?  Ain't nobody got time for that blog!

What the Empowered Stupidity movement doesn't yet understand is he's switching to the Freemium model.  You'll still get the broadcast messages from Dear Leader on a wider scale.  But to expand the grift, you'll be asked to pay for a premium model inside of that which gives more exclusive insight, VIP access, deeper thoughts from the President, special guests, and much, much more!  I don't know if it'll be a straight for-profit expense or if you're $10/month will count as a donation to whichever of this three non-profit/501c4/legal/election integrity funds he's raising money for this week.  The best part will be watching two mullet dipshits high fiving one another when they "unlock" some cool feature inside that lets you see Trump's latest golf score or some shit.

tell me again how this guy is gonna win in 2024? pretty sure this site gets more daily traffic than that.

He's not gonna *win*.  He's gonna get anointed when the GOP House and Senate (and whatever GOP led states) just decides he's the President, and that's that.

The Constitution no longer matters.

Another reason the state of New York needs to get off its ass and put this fat fuck in jail.

I think it's quite respectful of her actually to be reporting from outside the Jefferson Moundsumount.

I mean, she's gonna bust this story wide open.

I don’t think we take the undeniable fact that Donald Trump is mentally unwell seriously enough. Something is terribly wrong with him, and it’s not just his penchant for being evil.

He is who we thought he was since 1983.

wait, wait, wait, this blog was his "social media platform"? I didn't realize they were the same thing. Ell-oh-fucking-ell

As somebody who does web development on the side (and did it full time here and there over the last 15 years), this whole thing just shocks the hell out of me.

You have a guy, Trump, who had millions of followers on social media platforms (even discounting the bot followers).  He loses those platforms, and needs somewhere for his Creedesque thoughts to reside.

That's automatic traffic. It's not hypothetical traffic, it's traffic from day one, especially since you won't even have to advertise it - it'll be all over Fox News, OAN, CNN, etc..  It's not hard to build a very profitable platform around a guaranteed/built-in audience that has nowhere else to get that content, especially when people like the MyPillow guy would have thrown money at you for advertising on it.

Any half-decent developer could have come up with something better than thoughts from Trump's desk or whatever it was that just shut down, and it would have had plenty of social media engagement as well.

Just shocking, but not surprising.  Maybe Barron created the site.

There is a distinct possibility that Trump really has lost a lot/most of his audience (and maybe there were far more bots than anybody realized) and the noise we hear is from an extremely small percentage.  Maybe only the true diehards are still with him in the fuhrerbunker, but they are drowning out the moderates and those that don't really care as long as there is an (R) next to the name.

I'm still leaning towards a crappy platform/site being the problem, and for all we know Lorena Bobbit and MGT are the outliers, but something has definitely happened.  If 73 million people voted for you, a few million of those people should have the time and energy to cheer on your thoughts from your desk website.

If we learned shortly after an election that a newly elected democratic president had paid off a porn star he was banging just prior to the election... how many Benghazi style hearings would we get from the pubs over the next four years? And of course he would be impeached immediately, if they were able to do so.

(that Trump was impeached twice and neither had anything to do with this will always amaze me)

The John Edwards. It should have gotten him impeached. He’d also get in trouble for laundering inauguration funds. McConnell and Fox could have feigned outrage and put Pence in charge within 3 months.

not exactly the point, but I agree

I felt like there was a “Trump change” joke to be made there but I didn’t think I could make it work. So I settled. But minor fines for all sorts of nefarious political activity is a problem. See the minor penalties for any violations of the restrictions placed on politicians and their Super PACs imposed by Citizens United. It’s all a big joke. Not a funny one, but a joke nonetheless.

Sen. Todd Young is young enough, he'll have higher aspirations one day.  Mike Braun could either die or not run again two cycles from now.  Maybe he could come back to Indiana and be governor again.  I'm guessing in 2028 or so, if a post-Trump Republican were to win, they'd throw him a bone and let him ride it out on the Northern District of Indiana as a Federal Magistrate.  Maybe even 7th Circuit.  It's a pretty moderate circuit, not much damage he could do there either way.  Nice place for him to pasture.
