Roma gets it. Trumpism is running literally every play in that playbook. You have to be willfully blind not to see it.

The good news:  we are answering in real time the questions asked of the Germans after WWII about how could you not know, how could you not do anything?  Between the people making it happen and the people that can’t accept that it’s happening, it doesn’t get stopped

the bad news:  this time around it might not end as well as last time

Bannon, Stone, et al have been reading it for him.

Maybe, but I am thinking back to those reports of him having the highlighted and dog eared copy of Mein Kampf on his bedside table.  That was Ivana who mentioned this, right?   Probably mandatory reading by Fred.

We'll all get a copy of Mein Trumpf for our nighttime reading pleasure if he gets back in the white house.

Hey Huckabee!  Now do a video of all the time Trump ended a speech, especially in our darkest hours of Covid, with "May God Bless You!  And May God Bless the United States of America!"  The most frequently said phrase by U.S. Presidents since the dawn of radio, and he could only be bothered to say it less than two handfuls of times in 5 years.

Here's about as close as he ever got to saying it correctly:

Covered all the bases there.

This was the fully statement

FG6RctxXMA0VZhY?format=jpg&name=large

"The Jan. 6 Unselect Committee is a coverup for what took place on November 3rd, and the people of our Country won't stand for it."

Actually, almost everybody is standing for it, so either the Trumper's don't actually believe it was stolen, or they believe it was stolen, but it's not worth risking their free time over it.

MTG's response, probably:

"Bi isn't really a thing, though, so it's a full blown gay-pass."

Full blown gay pass?  Is that the thing you can buy heading out of the park for the next day during pride week?

The ugly enduring legacy of Trump’s presidency includes this kind of stuff that will go largely unnoticed by most Americans

TRUMP GOES FULL ANTI-SEMITE, UNLOADS ON AMERICAN JEWS IN WILDLY BIGOTED RANT
In clips aired on the Unholy podcast, the former president—who may or may not make another run for office in 2024—went on a lengthy rant about how American Jews supposedly aren’t loyal enough to Israel, invoking a longtime anti-Semitic trope about Jewish people and allegiances to another countries. Speaking to journalist Barak Ravid, who appeared on the podcast, Trump said: “There’s people in this country that are Jewish that no longer love Israel. I’ll tell you the Evangelical Christians love Israel more than the Jews in this country. It used to be that Israel had absolute power over Congress and today I think it’s the exact opposite, and I think [Barack] Obama and [Joe] Biden did that. And yet in the election, they still get a lot of votes from Jewish people…which tells you that the Jewish people, and I’ve said this for a long time. The Jewish people in the United States either don’t like Israel or don’t care about Israel. I mean, you look at The New York Times, The New York Times hates Israel, hates them, and they’re Jewish people that run The New York Times, I mean the Sulzberger family

Obviously his trade-off is $25mm in political advocacy to make back 5x that amount in pillow/towels sales to his constituents.  My wife's parents and my cousin have fallen for it thusfar.  Each time he releases a new product, they buy it in bulk because they think it's ostensibly support the cause.

Serious question for you tax experts---is what he's doing a business expense since he went from slinging shitty pillows late at night to the person we all think of when we hear the word "pillow".  I mean, from a branding perspective...he's done a damn good job.  The publicity he's received in the last two years is worth far more than the $25mm he's spent.

losing $25M of your assets to own the libs

I think like Lobo said, he's probably made it back and then some.

But if he got down to his last million or so, and was given the choice of eating ramen noodles and driving a 20 year-old Honda for the rest of his life, or hanging on to his last million and not putting it towards Trump, I'd be willing to bet that he'd keep the $1 million.

Quote

Author David Cay Johnston says former President Donald Trump's businesses made $1.7 billion in revenue while he was in office.

I am sure reported revenues are just a fraction of what he earned as Pres grifter.

I'm not sure if I buy that. it's one thing for his company to be doing well, but it sounds like the money he has spent is out of his personal assets. either way, he's a fucking moron peddling crappy bedding.
