You thought that was satire?

I always knew Eric would play a prominent role in the eventual downfall of the Trump Organization's financial house of cards.

Whenever you can fool him into thinking he's helping, that's when he'll deliver the best stuff.

It's amazing we're all still alive. And that dude has a great shot of becoming President again.

i mean we barely survived bc his degeneracy and corruption was exceeded only by his stupidity. we were actually saved by idiocy.

i do not think we will be as lucky the second time.

That raises a good point. How does he really expect to run if he keeps running on the Big Lie? I mean logistically. The media angle. How will the media treat him?

Will Twitter reinstate him?

Will news stations broadcast him? Interview? Allow him to keep saying that shit when it’s a lie that is clearly dangerous to our democracy?

That's a good point.  He can't keep that going for four years without proof.  Even the most credulous of his cunt followers won't be able to swallow that.

Unless he's dead, he's running.  What would a psychotic narcissist cult leader -- whose cult is currently setting the stage for him to win even if he doesn't get the votes -- do?  That's what he'll do.  He's running.

You have learned NOTHING from the past 13 years, have you?  For fuck's sake, he BUILT his cult on lies that he never delivered on.  How would doing more of the same COST him supporters?

These two lines are the absolute truth:

Yeah, but his opponents and the press will be questioning him on it non-stop.

A big part of the ability of Trump to lie his ass off and spout utter bullshit is that he gets a pass on it after a few days or weeks and is usually smart enough not to repeat it.

Again.....you don't get it.  He can say whatever he wants.  A member of the "lying lamestream media" will call it out....and he'll call the person fake news, his cult will cheer, and he wins more support.

We are completely and 100% post-"objective truth and facts."  It's over.  It's done.  Insane lies don't cost him support -- they GAIN it.  Outrageous lies means he's fighting for them, he's owning the libs!  Look at all those lib tears!

That's it.  That's what matters.  Stop pretending the old rules even still exist.  They don't.

Put aside the lack of proof.  He's telling his people that everything is rigged against him and that Republican legislators/politicians and the judges he appointed wouldn't help him out.

Why would his followers be enthusiastic to vote for him, when it's all rigged?

Basically, this:

Those of you who have plenty of Trumper relatives/friends/what have you, go look up their records.  You may not be able to see exactly who they voted for, but you can see if they voted in primaries, general elections, etc.  A lot of the most passionate Trumpers in my family/friends/former co-workers were simply not voting in past elections (prior to 2020), and I think the records show that.  I've even had a few openly admit it, while a few others pretended like they had in the past, and then fessed up when confronted with their record.

In 2004, W got 62 million votes.

In 2008, John McCain got 60 million votes.

In 2012, Romney got 61 million votes.

In 2016, Trump got 63 million votes (Hillary got 65 million votes, a little less than Obama).

In 2020, Trump got 74 million votes.

There are 60 - 62 million reliable Republicans who have showed up in every election for the last 5 elections (there was a jump of 10 million or so from 2000 - 2004 for both parties, for various reasons).

Trump drew 11 - 13 million or so additional voters in 2020 that the GOP had not been able to get to the polls in the past.

Trump has pissed off a shitload of them with his support for (and taking credit for) vaccines, and he's been telling them the elections are rigged.

Even if he was cognizant of the fact that a lot of them are pissed at him over the vaccine thing (and he's heard the booing, which angered him), I don't think he's cognizant of the fact that he's telling a lot of them to basically stay home in 2022 and 2024.  He and the GOP need those 11-13 million votes that he got in 2020 to show up in 2022, but Trump isn't on the ballot, and they need them to show up in 2024.

Lot harder than people think.

For fuck's sake, those 11-13 million couldn't be bothered to show up for a Vietnam War hero or Romney against a Black, Muslim, Atheist, Marxist, Socialist, Communist Homosexual community organizer born in Kenya, raised in Indonesia, and who lived in Chicago.

Are you new here? You’ve got a veteran poster’s name and avatar but you seem to have been in a coma for the last 6 years or so.

Go back and check the things his Republican opponents for the nomination were saying back in 2016. Jeb Bush, Lindsey Graham, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz...they were all correct but all of them other than Bush ultimately turned around, knelt, and kissed the ring. Jeb was the only on who didn’t have a political career to protect or he probably would’ve capitulated too.

Look at how Lindsey changed his tune so quickly after the insurrection. The night of the certification he said, “count me out, enough is enough” and voted to certify. He said, “Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are lawfully elected and will become the President and Vice President of the United States on January the twentieth.

Then he was confronted by hostile Trump supporters in an airport where they called him a traitor.

Then he went golfing with Trump again.

41564390-9455487-image-a-15_161800594756

Then he went on Hannity and admitted, “Can we move forward without President Trump? The answer is no.”

It’s the party of Trump. If Trump wants to run, and I believe he will, all the rest of the Republicans will fall in line and support him or risk political annihilation.

Well, I think you've hit on why his followers might continue to "believe" him.  But it's going to be a sore spot for him all through his campaign if he persists.

Trump is such a whiny fucking bitch. It's so pathetic. I simply can't believe so many Americans think he's some kind of alpha male.

Cliff’s notes?  I try to avoid hearing his voice so I don’t jam a fork into my eardrum.

TL,DR: He couldn't stand being called out on his bullshit so he hung up.

There was so much mush in that interview that it could have fed the Russian Army for a week.

Remember when he stormed off on Granny Stahl during their interview?  A complete pussy.

Also, to win the nomination or the election, Trump needs more than his "base."  He needs a goodly portion of more standard Republican types and independents.

If he keeps sounding like a lunatic on this one issue, it's going to hurt him.  And he can't hang up on a debate like he can Steve Inskeep.
