A story about a pathetic man's downfall [34 Felony Convictions]

I don’t think an indictment is “imminent,” at least not as in it happening soon. I’m not sure how long before an indictment the DOJ would notify POTUS of its imminence. But in no way should the timing of an arrest be affected by political concerns. Whenever they’re ready to move they should move and not be concerned about how it plays in the media.

Yeah but I think there are daily natsec briefings and there's no way the people who monitor the domestic terror groups don't have a plan for the retaliation efforts, which means they probably will get a courtesy heads-up from the DOJ about big Trump news about to drop. Biden's team probably wants to be able to plan around that both for national security purposes and for political (midterms) reasons

I agree with this. I think MANY of those folks who have been mobilized to vote for him won't be quite as excited by anybody that isn't Trump or from his immediate universe like Junior or Eric or Ivanka, etc. They'll just go back to not voting.

We’re living in some bizarro Marvel simulation. FFS.

Elevating Trump could also help draw attention to his divisive predecessor ahead of the election homestretch, as Trump continues dominating the news in a way that few former president can, most recently after an FBI raid found classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago resort home in Florida.

Could Dark Brandon be prepping the country for an imminent indictment and arrest? I have a feeling that if the arrest happens, it will be on a Friday. Probably early morning, in time to dominate (pre-empt) the morning shows and drive-time radio.

Interesting. The first part of the quote from your article below had me doubtful until they linked the speech to the second paragraph.

Quote

Biden will speak about “how the core values of this nation — our standing in the world, our democracy — are at stake,” according to the White House. He will talk about “the progress we have made as a nation to protect our democracy, but how our rights and freedoms are still under attack. And he will make clear who is fighting for those rights, fighting for those freedoms, and fighting for our democracy.”

The address comes a week after Biden sharply rebuked MAGA-aligned Republicans, calling the movement “semi-fascism” and out of touch with most Americans’ political beliefs.

If he does speak plainly about who is attacking the republic and the real danger to the republic, it's a key moment in the life of the USA.

GOPS will go nuts as will Trump. Will Dems and others pro-republic be similarly energized? It's a risk, but the longer we put this reckoning off, the stronger the wrong side gets.

The article states Biden is doing this as part of a campaign swing. If he goes honest about the danger, I think it would be an error to hold up the Democratic Party as the savior. I would suggest the language of anti-republic versus pro-republic and state that those groups are not strictly defined by party affiliation.

I don't expect those who take up this battle to become Democrats. For the moment we are a coalition formed to protect this country. We should join together in this moment for the sake of our country. Donald Trump and those he encourages to destroy our institutions for the sake of putting power into his hands or those of some other degenerate must be stopped. By us. Citizens of the republic of the United States of America.

Who knows what would happen next? Trump's arrest would be the appropriate action. What follows.........

I want to agree with this but Trump’s movement is much bigger than he is. This is a fundamentalist movement that will never ever vote for democrats.

What I’m trying to say is this movement is more anti-Democratic than it is in love with Trump.

Something to watch for in the upcoming GOP primary is the stupid notion of “electability” and how it’s deployed by the media against Trump.

This is true -- and I'm seeing it on the ground floor with contentious school board elections. Book banning and other "CRT is the debbil" bullshit is running rampant in the "white" suburban/wealthy enclaves of DFW and it ain't slowing down soon. I just feel the Republican margin for winning in the grand scale is so razor-thin that if they lose any of the support they've had in the last six years, it's over for them. I'm not going to fool myself into thinking local government in Texas and other Confederate states won't be heavily Republican-skewed in the near term but I do have faith in the younger generation as it replaces the Boomers. There are far more Greta Thunbergs than Ben Shapiros, I think.

He is destinctive in ways that other megalomaniacs can surely improve on. His main trait was that he was a celebrity outsider who said the quiet parts out loud and doesn't give a rat fuck that we're a (declining republic).

If the Pillow Guy were mildly intelligent, he might be a possibility, but it's hard to say who the next would-be tyrant will be in the same way it was unimaginable that Trump would get a major party nomination and then actually be elected despite constantly emerging stories proving his unfitness.

Well said. They're energized and will likely turn to another pretender if Trump is taken out.

I think this is an intelligent take, but you can see how I disagree with it by what I wrote above.

I think it's more likely that the deplorables embrace someone more cunning and dangerous. That I can't name that person doesn't mean that person (likely persons) isn't out there. Again, who thought we'd ever have something so absurd as a President Trump?

It's still weird to write and say President Trump. It's a shame he couldn't have been a laughable failure instead of what we have all witnessed.

Sorry to keep using this gif, but it's so apt.

Perhaps. But I really think it's Trump or nothing for millions upon millions of these sad folks. What do I know though? I never thought he could win in the first place. Then I figured if he won, I thought he'd do more sitting around doing nothing for four years just enjoying being president. This was before I considered the thought he was a controlled foreign asset, likely by the Russians and was effectively commanded to do Putin's bidding lest he meet the same fate as other Putin rivals. I was way wrong.

Could be. Perhaps my hopes are affecting my vision, but it feels different to me.

Using the Q quotes to encourage clicks on Truth Social hadn't occured to me. Interesting, but it still seems shrill to me.

We'll see.

I'm at the tail end of the boomers, so you've got at least 10-20 years of that influence. That's a lot of time to fuck things up to whatever degree boomers are responsible for this.

I'm not kidding myself. Trump isn't going to jail even though he should. I'll settle for arrest/indictment/conviction/disqualification for public office at this point. Followed soon after by a painful, fatal heart attack, of course.

They weren't this far out there IMO. Again, Trump made it "OK" for these people to say the quiet parts out loud. We're now seeing the fundagelical approach of taking over local school boards -- these used to be lightly-contested elections where people were for the most part rational and did what was best for the districts, usually falling in line with the administration's wishes. Now they've become win-at-all-costs bloodbaths on par with presidential elections. One candidate for HPISD last year spent nearly $50K on her campaign (and lost, BTW). She had money come in from OTHER STATES.

And once the national guard/military start taking down their fellow Gravy Seals, they'll very quickly put down their AR-15's and slink back to their mobile homes in Missouri, Alabama, etc. They will fuck around a little. They will find out a lot.

Oh, I think the shitheels will be surprised at the numbers (and armed numbers) on our side.  That doesn't change the fact that there will be bullets and blood.

In the wake of the Trump regime, the calls to stochastic terrorists have yielded:

- mass shooting of jews in a synagogue

- mass shooting of hispanics in an Wal-mart

- mass shooting of black people in a grocery store.

"Libtards" are the missing group on that list.  There will be a similar attack on a "liberal" target within the next 12 months - maybe it's a drive-by of a "liberal" protest or rally.  Maybe it will be a bomb set up in a central Austin grocery store or someplace similar.  But it's going to happen.

DC will damn sure be considered a state afterward, and maybe even Puerto Rico--it'd be on the table.

Yeah that's inevitable, but we can try to mitigate it and make examples of these domestic terrorists.

Oh, they need to fucking hang.  All of them.  Ruin them.  Ruin their families.  Drive everyone associated with them to shame and suicide.  I agree with all of that.

We are in a semi-hot civil war.  It's time we started treating treasonous terrorists like the treasonous terrorist pieces of shit that they are.  Whatever you wanted done to Al Qaeda terrorists?  You should want it done to Y'all Qaeda terrorists.  If you are an actual patriotic American, of course, and not a treasonous piece of dick yourself.

I'm not sure of the properness of it, but when Coulter, KellyAnne, and Laura Ingraham started appearing regularly on news shows in the 90s, I referred to them as the right wing shiksas. They all had their appeal.

I was a teenager when I first saw the poster for Ilsa She-Wolf of the SS. Maybe that impacted me more greatly than I imagined.

Kristjen Nielson (you can almost hear the boot heels clicking together at the sound of the name!) did the same thing to me when she ran DHS. I don't think this bears much more exploring, but the GOP does love their Aryans.

Someone should go all in on a coordinated campaign to have Trump announce before the midterms. Accuse him of being scared of the GOP, and not in charge. Point out he can't pay his legal bills. Call him childish names so his ego kicks in and he can't help himself.

I think he likes not paying more than holding onto the money. It supports the feeling of being powerful by having people waiting on your largesse of which he has none whatsoever.
