So we traded Infrastructure Week for Beautification Week?

We're in a computer simulation-the guy with the worst taste in aesthetics since Liberace accidentally dropped acid in Le Corbusier's design studio, he's know going to restore and revitalize American cities with a massive demo' contract?

"We had the most beautiful cities, architecture & street names when I was president. Now because of the communist radicals who illegally stole the election you can't even go to a beautiful McDonald's restaurant at the corner of Fuck Your Feelings St and Grab Em By the Pussy Ave."

There is nothing that socially anxious, predominantly rural MAGA nuts want more than to move to a nice crowded city so they can appreciate the beautiful architecture.  Trump has it all figured out.

Do these cities have to be in America?

Put them in Russia.

Trump finally gets his Moscow hotel.

Maga moves in.

This fucker is losing it. No energy. Nothing fresh. No fresh outrage. Whines about his persecution.

He expects America's deplorables to rise up for new street names and buildings?

It's not even an original idea.  Prince Charles tried it in the '90s.

Nah, I think it was waterworld when they decided, "If we can't bring water to the cities...we'll bring the cities to the water" like in "Chinatown"  But shit gets outta hand and they flood everything.  I mean, I'm not shocked that Trump thinks this is a good idea.  I'm just wondering at what point his base realizes, "Living in Central Nevada with a bunch of geriatrics with no job prospects and schools brought to you by the U.S. Dept. of Education" doesn't sound that fun.  Even after you pick out your appliance package at the model home.

I get that some focus group told Kushner and Bannon that "housing affordability" is a Top 5/10 issue for even MAGA (obviously after CRT and 2A).  This is a bizarre fucking suggestion even for these lunactics.  Just stick with talking points like "Overhaul the Fed to lower mortgage rates" or "incentive business to build more housing lower costs" or "Cut regulations that keep houses from being developed-nobody knows more about real estate development than me"   That kinda shit.  It plays well, it makes some modicum of sense.  But erecting 10 cities in Alaska and Montana near no major employers or transportation hubs, that's just fucking weird even for people desperate for home ownership.

I honestly sounds like a Squid Game meets Hunger Games kinda shit.  They lure you out with 50,000 other morons to the fucking desert to live in anonymous mass housing and feed you government protein bars.  With no job prospects and mostly older people who are bleeding Social Security and Medicare, they announce some sort of "contest" where the last 5,000 can stay and enjoy the excesses of the now underpopulated Federal City.

Apparently they siezed the memo reminding him that he's leading the party of small government. You know no socialism, not renaming things based on woke awareness, not regulating how things are built...

Somebody mentioned it earlier, but really surprised he hasn't opened up some kind of Villages knock-off.  When you think about it, it's perfect - captive audience, he can be skimming off of everything from the construction to the country clubs/golf courses/restaurants to the various fees, maintenance, etc.

Then again, he'd have to come up with a shitload of money up front to get it going.   While The Villages started out as a small trailer park (mobile home), you can't get that much these days without some serious capital, and given that he could fuck up casinos and steaks, yeah....not going to happen.

Now Jared could probably get the Saudis on board...

That would never work.  Their motto (on road signs) used to be “You do the crime, you do the time, in Grimes County”.

Aren’t most of the buildings just licensing deals? Like he’s paid just for use of his name but he doesn’t have any actual ownership.

Definitely spot on as to the country club/golf course scams

I recently noticed a property in my lil' corner MAGA-stan that has a blank 18 ft space on their fence that had previously been covered since (I believe) 2015 with a Trump banner. It wasn't removed due to being some sun-bleached, wind-tattered eye sore. I couldn't help but note how it matched the well-maintained property over the years and monotonous amazement that there were still passengers on the Trump Train post-Jan 6. I could be totally off, but it feels like the Fox News texts from the Dominion suit- that their trusted guides were privately laughing at the ludicrous horseshit that they could con their viewers into believing- might be taking their toll.

I stayed out near Wimberley this past weekend and turned down a random side road and came upon a falling down shack with no less than 4 of these flags, tattered, and proudly flying.  In the driveway, a jacked up truck and a 20+ foot boat, both from probably the late 90s.  Great life choices these people made.

The ultimate example of this is on 290W a couple miles outside of Fredericksburg. Between a peach stand and some self storage units, there's a mocha shit brown, rusted POS panel van with "Trump Promises Kept" scrawled on it with a turd pencil. It's been there at least 3 years, yet every time we head to Kerrville to visit the MIL the gods of photography thwart us and prevent Mrs GOTJ from getting a pic of the carnage.

Yep.  I've laughed at that for every one of those 3 years.  I'm pretty convinced it's actually a joke.  But nothing would surprise me.

It's got to be a joke, or somebody was very bitter/felt betrayed..  When we first saw it, it had been there only a few weeks at the most, and it looked like shit then.

Best case scenarios:

1.  Campaigning that hard for two full years causes him to pass away.

2.  Runs third party, implodes the MAGA movement.

3.  Doesn't win GOP nomination after fair-n-square primary season.  Recluses to finish out his years in shame.

4.  Wins GOP nomination, loses in General Election.

5.  ???

6.  Profit

I swear CPAC happens like 3-4 times every year, right?

Look just because it's a semi-annual quarterly bi-monthly event, doesn't mean it's not super serious!

It's starting to look like one of those super-exclusive, double-secret SXSW pop-up parties that they host like 5 nights in a row and by the end of it, they're just like, 'Fuck it, anybody can come and bring 3 dates for my friends.'  CPAC was years and years ago a big deal.  But now, it's the same 9 people speaking in front of a portable backdrop they just move around the country to different airport Hiltons.  I love that this quarter, as the GOP nomination race is officially getting going, Grover and the Club for Growth held the real vetting conference down in Florida with no media allowed as if to say, "Have your fucking clown show, me and these 7 people and 3 computers will decide to the fate of the party, thank you very much."

Pass away? To me passing away implies peacefully crossing over from living to no longer living without the perishing even knowing.  This motherfucker needs to DIE. Slowly, painfully and violently.

I have a nearly overwhelming urge to put a zero under that every time I'm out that way.
