It's just insane what people choose to get riled up about. They're not cutting away from the fucking game. She's the most famous person in America, of course they're going to show her instead of some random fat fuck in the stands with his face painted, which is what they'd normally be showing during those few seconds.

Hell, I'm in the camp that she's pretty dang good looking. Show literally nothing but the game and her for all I fucking care.

Unlike some of you crazy Democrats, I don't subscribe to political absolutes.

But she has a huge break in her tour between late-August (the UK) and mid-November (Canada).  She does a few shows this Autumn, without any overt political stumping, in Milwaukee, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and if she has time-pepper in Charlotte, Atlanta, and Phoenix.  And it's 100% completely, game over for MAGA.  End of story.  Dead and buried.  Trump dies as a result of the humiliation.  It's done.

I speak about politics and governance quite a bit in my household, not at all in public.  My 8.5 year old asked me the other day why Taylor Swift can't be President.  I said because she's not 35 years old yet.  My daughter looked up the constitution and read the parts about qualifications and now has it lock-sealed in her brain, which I am proud of.  She then figured out which election cycle she, herself, will be eligible to be elected as a female President.  Taylor Swift's music makes my teeth fucking itch, not for me.  But she's got my daughter, and millions more like her, empowered and engaged and enlightened.  Bonus points for dad-she pisses the fuck outta stupid people and is easy on the eyes.

Yep

I thought this would happen once he started getting more coverage.  The media (for some reason) hasn't been reporting on the insane things he says.  Now that they kind of have to, people are either remembering or realizing how insane he is:

I don't think I believe the people who say they would vote for Trump tomorrow, but not if he is convicted in one of his various trials.

Me neither.

People are so entrenched in their tribe that the best we can hope for us for a fraction of centrist republicans to just not show up.

The vast majority will contort their morals and logic to delude themselves into picking the lesser of two evils... and that is going to be Trump somehow.

Getting them to stay home is the play. Not vote for Biden, because they won’t. Just don’t vote

does abbott have the balls to throw out harris county votes and hopes the supreme court backs him ?

The fact that the Republican politicians are doing everything they can to control how Harris County votes show there is a real fear among Republican leaders that something could happen (even if it was down-ballot).  May not be this year, but Abbott, Paxton, Patrick, etc. are terrified.

Michigan and Arizona have their own problem of a nearly broke state GOP.

Oh Georgia too?

Delicious.

In Arizona, the state GOP chairman has been begging the Republican National Committee for a financial bailout. Michigan party officials have gotten into physical fights as their finances have dipped into the red. And in Georgia, the state party is in a standoff with the Republican governor and saddled with legal fees for alternate electors put forward in 2020.

And all of those state parties are finally learning Trump/the RNC is not going to bail them out, either.

A) He can't afford to.  Legal bills
B) The RNC is fucking broke
C) He is vacuuming up all the donor money  and not sharing it (because of point A)

Oh yeah, and most of the downballot Republicans, especially in the House, cannot rely on their backbencher Speaker to fill their coffers.  And McCarthy is out for revenge.

The sad thing is, the locals keep voting in candidates that are wholly unqualified and batshit crazy in their state legislatures. It's like back when Cawthorne won in NC over Morris Davis. Davis had real qualifications and no Nazi background so of course Cawthorne gets elected.

In Michigan, Arizona, et al, it's too much of the above combined with no $$ but they'll still pull it off because....stupid.

The purity tests require candidates who are progressively more batshit, then more batshit, then even MORE batshit.  I have my doubts for whether the law of FAFO will actually end up working, but the Republicans sure seem intent on testing its limits.  When all of their state-level and local candidates end up running on a platform of "shoot all Democrats with ray guns because they are secretly Yelnakians who want to subjugate the freedom-loving people of Glarpok-9!", then we'll know.  And I figure we're maybe two election cycles away from the Yelnakian thing.

I know from local reporting that while the local GOP in Georgia is struggling with fundraising, much of it has been to diverted to efforts lead by Kemp and his folks.  Good news, they aren't Trumpers, bad news, they are by all accounts doing well in their efforts.

They're Trump adjacent and that makes them as bad.

Pittsburgh instead of Philly and Triad or even Charlotte instead of Triangle and that's a pretty stout trip.

Remember the red marks on Trump's hands a week or two ago. Not syphilis. Not paper cuts.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13030043/trump-red-marks-AI-fingers-hand.html

Quote

Donald Trump said mysterious red marks recently spotted on his hand could have been the result of 'AI'.

DailyMail.com captured the former president leaving Trump Tower with the marks visible on his hand two weeks ago.

At an event in Washington on Wednesday, Trump was asked if he had seen the photographs, but said he had not.

He was then asked what had been wrong with his hand.  Trump raised one hand, before a reporter clarified that they were referring to his other one.

Asked what had happened to the hand the former president said: 'Nothing. Maybe it was AI.'

At the time the red marks appeared Trump was on his way to court to watch E. Jean Carroll testify in a defamation case in New York.

That resulted in an $83 million judgment against him.

Representatives later said the red marks had resulted from paper cuts, and Trump had subsequently smeared blood across his hand.

The marks led to a flurry of speculation on social media.

Theories included that it was red ink from top secret documents.

Others speculated that, owing to the ex-president's love of fast food, it was ketchup.

Hours after the pictures were taken Trump reappeared showing no signs of the mysterious red marks, and there were further no signs of an injury.

Some of y’all are setting yourselves up to be majorly disappointed by Taylor. She may end up saying something kinda vague and safe so that young progressive fans can make inferences about her, but I get very strong “Republicans buy concert tickets too” vibes from her.

I'm not a Swiftie...hell, I don't own a single record and would only recognize a few of her songs.

But, she gives me a very strong Larry David "I've got so much money I don't give a fuck what anybody thinks" vibe.

Yeah...."young latinas" still has 100X more relevance as a porn search term than it does as a voting bloc.  Sorry, non-voting Texans just aren't becoming voting Texans.  It isn't happening.

I think her best move is to NOT publicly back Biden and continue with the "Register to vote"  and speaking about what her issues are.   Say something like "Get out and vote for your candidate, not who others want you to vote for."   Her fan base is more than likely going to vote for Biden if they like her issues so why make it about her by backing him instead of playing it close to vest while letting her actions speak for her?

Not any more, he's not.
