trump: "look over there!"

Quote

“We will fight the subpoenas on executive privilege and other grounds for the good of our country, while we wait to find out whether or not subpoenas will be sent out to Antifa and BLM for the death and destruction they have caused,” Trump said.

of course, because our court system is slower than frozen dogshit, this won't be resolved until after the republicans take their majority in january, 2023, at which point the whole thing will be mooted.

Looked up Stephanie Grisham.  Another college dropout.

I have nothing against college dropouts, hell I went through a few phases/detours before settling down and finishing a degree.

But damn does Trump and the GOP seem to attract them these days.  Or even the GED crowd (again, respect if you actually go back and get it, but no respect if you open your mouth and let everybody know that you got one, without explicitly saying you got one).

According to her wiki bio, she's a real winner.  Twice divorced, probably fucking a sportscaster at her husband's anchor job during a two-year marriage.  Two DWI. Child out of wedlock.  Fired from every non-political job she's ever had.

He's so smart, he keeps his money hidden off-shore so Forbes wouldn't even know about it, bro.

Meantime the list is populated almost entirely by people who professionally hide wealth off-shore and still stumble into the Top 400 just by the rounding errors.

As a reminder of how utterly contemptible he is, last year that Trump administration established rules that will let hunters kill bear cubs in their dens:

"Peter Christian, a spokesman with the park service in Alaska, told the Anchorage Daily News that the changes will allow hunters to draw black bears, including cubs and females with cubs, out of their dens with artificial light; to use bait to attract black and brown bears; to hunt wolves and coyotes during the denning season and to shoot caribou while they are swimming or from motorboats."

This.  Why was he even on there to begin with?  I remember Wilbur Ross somehow got on there by declaring the money he managed in his fund as his personal money.

When you elect a twice divorced, multiple failed business line, reality TV show host who has NDAs with porn stars for their silence, you get what you pay for.

It was just as bad as we all thought. No surprises.

Just read CNN.com's version. Jesus. That orange fucker belongs in an orange jumpsuit. Instead, as it stands now he's the likely GQP candidate for 2024. Fuck Mitch McConnell for not ending that cocksucker's political career back in January.

There may have been a little transactional dealing that prevented that, although I can't say if it's just smoke.

Chao (Mrs. McConnell) had some dubious conflicts of interest while Secretary of Transportation. Specifically some things that happened with respect to her father's company and also some projects for Kentucky (re-election year for Mitch). The IG for the dept (who was nonpartisan) requested the DOJ to look into it, but they refused. They also refused to look into other ethics violations such as her promoting her father's book, using dept resources for personal use, and having her aide be the liaison between her office, the funding arm, local officials with the state of Kentucky, and her spouse. When the nonpartisan acting IG began his investigation, Trump had him removed and replaced with an interim who directly reported to Chao, with the interim thus being responsible for investigating his department, himself, and his boss.

IOW, lot of the usual mafia dealings.

I don’t know a thing about inside politics, but why would all those cowards resigning do anything to stop dotard’s bullshit?  If anything it seems it would give him the opportunity to install more lackeys and make his path to totalitarianism easier.

Yea, not a good strategy. Just ask the Mensheviks.

Why are we not making sweeping changes to limit the executive branch.

They did after Watergate and Dick Cheney spent his whole career undoing them. Ken Starr helped.

You'd think Republicans would because Joe Biden is going to make everybody get a shot.

But they don't want that, because they anticipate getting back into power at some point.

We don't have a chance.
