Watching those three videos.  I try and I try and I try, but I'm still not a fan of Obama nor Biden.  But they are Men.  They conduct themselves as men with honor, dignity, and respect for others.  Absolutely and without fail.  And then there's Trump, just an out and out piece of human shit.  Just a fucking small, miserable Cunt of Carbon with no redeeming qualities of any kind.  A fucking zero.  A shell of a soul.

Trump is the rounding error of humanity.

Trump is the rounding error of humanity.

Obama genuinely enjoyed that moment with that lady, and it wasn’t a transactional thing for him, whereas Trump seems like he has to benefit in some way to be happy or spend some of his time with somebody.

Obama is a reminder we should go with younger Presidents as well.  Trump is not even close to being that sharp.

“Only the king touches that sword.” So does that mean there are at least two kings: Trump and the guy who passed the sword to him?

Three Kings, actually.  Don't forget about Sean Connery.  Oh wait, that's not Swords, it's "Words that start with 'S'."  What is a saber?

I didn't write that I didn't like them, I wrote that I'm still not a fan.  There's a difference, at least to me, between liking someone and being a fan of someone.  I like the Rolling Stones, but I am a huge fan of Led Zeppelin.

Just say you like them as people. That would be the easiest way to confer your thoughts about both of them. How you wrote it came across as confusing.

Okay.   I like them as people as stated twice, just not a huge fan.  You’re young, you’ll bounce back from this horrific confusion.

Apropos of nothing, it occurs to me that the pitch meeting for Highlander must have been pretty strange:

”So, the movie is about feuding immortal swordsmen from the Scottish highlands who battle for centuries until they find themselves in present day New York.”

“Ok, intriguing. Who is going to star?”

“Sean Connery.”

“Oh well of course!  Scotland’s favorite son!  Great idea.”

“Yep, he’s going to play an Egyptian / Spaniard.  And then for the Scotsman, we’re thinking about casting an unknown Swiss actor with a super weird accent.”

You forgot the most important part of the pitch.

"So, how does this movie begin?"

"Well, we definitely need the Fabulous Freebirds wrestling at MSG to really set the mood".

Perfectly normal, healthy, functioning business that Mr. Trump has aligned himself with:

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/09/26/trump-linked-spac-changes-address-to-ups-store-as-investments-pulled.html

Quote

Digital World Acquisition Corp., the blank-check company looking to take Trump Media and Technology Group public, has changed its listed address to a UPS Store in Miami.

The change from a Miami office building to a UPS address came with DWAC’s regulatory filing on Friday disclosing that some investors pulled out tens of millions of dollars.

Quote

The company said it had lost $138.5 million of the $1 billion in financing from private investors in public equity, also known as PIPE, to fund Trump Media after the merger. The contractual obligation for those investors to contribute to former President Donald Trump’s media company after the deal had expired last Tuesday, allowing them to pull their funding.

One of the former private investors told CNBC that it pulled financing from DWAC because of the many legal obstacles facing the company. The investor, who declined to be named due to the sensitive nature of the matter, was also underwhelmed by the popularity of Trump Media’s Truth Social app as measured by Donald Trump’s follower counts.

Quote

DWAC’s address change was first reported by the Financial Times.

Shares of DWAC were trading around $17 after hours Monday, down significantly from their $97 peak in March of this year.

We have to stop calling this guy rich. He is not and has never been wealthy. My dog’s excrement has more value than his net worth.

Poorest multimillionaire ever?

He’s definitely rich. He’s not as rich as he says he is. But he’s definitely rich. He was born rich. And he’s a very successful grifter.

Meh.  I'm not a fan of Haberman.

But that quote says Presidential Records that belonged at the archives.  That is not "classified documents."

If all we were looking at was Presidential Reords, this wouldn't be as big a deal as it is.

Another bad twitter take.

forest for the trees.

this represents a much bigger and seemingly reoccurring issue - journalists/govt officials/staffers holding back the good (read felony) shit for their books.

MAGA Haberman is the type of journalist that would hide or delay anything in order to keep her access to Trump World. Her career aspirations and book deals >> her journalistic integrity

CNN obtained some footage from documentary makers of stone straight up laying out the jan6 playbook, and cheerfully talking about how they can use their judges in the courts to get favorable judgements to keep pushing their narrative.

Also was a bucket of cold water to see Kyle fucking rittenhouse merch on the MAGA fascists talking with stone. Fuck me we have a fascist problem that our courts will never get around to dealing with

Edit: whoops thought this was the Jan6 thread

Trump told Woodward how bad Covid would be in February 2020 when he was still pretending to the world it wouldn’t be a problem and Woodward sat on it for a book.

The story there is Trump's denial and when he knew he was lying. There was plenty of coverage about Covid already breaking in Feb.

Trump's denial was screamingly public amid the medical world's concerns. Trump thought we'd be fine as long as we didn't let that passenger boat land on the West Coast. He was already under intense criticism that didn't do any good.

I don't follow Haberman or often read the NY Times (I subscribe to the Washington Post service), if she is called a reporter, she should be fired at once. I don't get the impression that actual reporters whom I often see on TV are holding back. There is still great pride in breaking a story. Being the one to break a story is usually the path to a book deal anyway. All the President's Men comes immediately to mind.

Trump told Woodward that he knew a year earlier, in 2019, how serious the danger of the virus was but he wanted to play it down. It’s not like Woodward could have made a difference if he had published the recording of that interview as soon as it happened. That was information we could’ve used in February 2019. If Trump had told Woodward back then that he secretly knew what a grave threat the virus was but was intentionally deceiving the American people about it, I’m sure Bob would’ve gone public with that info immediately.

Also, we have to consider the possibility that Trump was lying to Woodward and that he really didn’t understand the threat of the virus in early 2019 but was changing his story after the fact.

Rage is a good book, btw. Woodward got lots of recorded interviews from Trump and the book is filled with transcriptions. It gives you a firsthand look at the rambling, incoherent rants of this utter buffoon.
