In the not too distant past, one comment mocking an American POW like that would have been a scandal and ended his political career.

Well, yeah. But now it's celebrated.  Time's change, bucko.

Yeah, when Jack tweeted a long post about why he supported the orange fuckface prior to the 2020 election that was the last straw even for my 79 YO dad who idolized Nicklaus. Jack tried to play the "I'm just a simple midwestern boy from Ohio, and I don't always like what Trump says but he's had to put up with so much crap and despite that he's the most diverse president I've ever seen! So vote for him unless you want America to become a socialist country!" angle. My dad, who never discusses politics & is pretty moderate, was extremely anti-Trump. He's also anti-social media so he heard about Jack's tweet from one of his golf buddies. He actually called me and had me read the entire tweet to him. He was stunned, and his reaction was simply "well...that's disappointing."

Fuck you, Jack. Your golf course architecture empire has been built on all kinds of shady deals and labor that cost less than the dirt moved at resorts all over the world.

Buddy of mine in law school played junior golf in high school. He told me about the time he was paired with one of his kids (I forget if it was Jack Jr. or Steve). Jack followed along for the entire round. At no point during the 4+ hours or after did he say anything to my friend, like, “nice match, or hi, nice to meet you.”  No, the only thing he said to him was when his ball was in ground under repair, “you can’t play from there” (which of course was wrong unless there was a local rule requiring a mandatory drop).

I never liked him but that story solidified it for me. Was completely unsurprised to find out he was a Trumper.

Openly hoping the economy crashes before the election …..

I mean.  Of course he does.  It's only about him.  Why is this surprising?  Not that there's anything he can do about it anyway.

the only thing surprising is that it was said out loud by a Presidential candidate and that it won’t cost him any votes.

Wait you’re telling me the guy who partied with Epstein, said he admired him, noted Epstein’s preference for young girls, lived minutes away from Epstein’s mansion, flew on Epstein’s private jet at least 7 times, hired Dershowitz to be his attorney, appointed Alex Acosta (who had recently given Epstein a sweetheart deal) to his cabinet, said he wished Ghislaine Maxwell well in prison, was ruled to be a rapist by a judge, and constantly sexualized his young daughters from as early as the age of 1 may have been involved in some untoward behavior with Jeffrey Epstein? That guy? Really?

Oh you’re just trying to persecute him!

How anyone supports this assclown is beyond me.

Quote

“When there’s a crash, I hope it’s going to be during this next 12 months because I don’t want to be Herbert Hoover. The one president – I just don’t want to be Herbert Hoover,” Trump said in an interview that aired Monday on the right-wing platform Lindell TV.

I'm not a doctor, but one might suppose that these are symptoms of neurosyphilis.  But I don't know.  I'm just asking questions.

I’m surprised he’s acknowledging that the economy is actually pretty good right now. In 2016 he was claiming it was shit when it wasn’t and then took credit for the good economy he inherited from Obama/Biden as soon as he took office.

Lou Dobbs, ha, what a piece of shit. That guy was screaming about immigrants before it became cool on Fox News.

No reasonable person takes Lou seriously. He’s a cultist, nothing more. Anyone who listens to him is a moron.

Remember when Trump inherited our military 🪖 whose stock was so depleted by Obama our soldiers and marines didn't even have bullets for their guns? I 'member.

This was, of course, bullshit.

Maybe on some stretch of the PCH or Death Valley?  Prolly not.

Nope, we traveled through DV this summer and while it was higher than TX, it wasn't that high. Also were driving around the PNW in the mountains in the fall and still wasn't 8 bucks. Maybe he means jet fuel for his lil plane?

And I am sure that his gasoline purchasing experience over his lifetime is close to or equal to zero.

I don't miss Trump in office one iota, but the occasional "watch" tweets were amusing

Sheeeeit, I paid $58.03 a couple of weeks ago!  Oh, you mean per gallon.  Maybe on some stretch of the PCH or Death Valley?  Prolly not.

I bought gas for $2.35/gal this morning.

I should probably mention that the same station now has it for $2.90/gal. But this morning it was $2.35.

Jorma quipped at the Cactus: “Now I know why gas is so expensive back home. They’re giving it away down here.”
