Every single time a ND and a Bama player make contact, it's the ND player that gets sent backwards. Every single time.

This game was never going to be close.

This is why I said it'll be something like 42-14 in the end

Does Blow U look this bad to start v Bama? Fuck OU it is the way. But do they look this bad? I’m guessing no. Would they win? No. But can they compete with speed yes. And more creative play calling. Yes.

I like seeing bloodbaths like this.

It's actually sadly entertaining to watch them when you have no skins in the game.

Saban knows that he can't win a national championship if he has to beat two really good teams....one patsy and another good team is enough.

I know he wanted no part of OU. He'd at least have to sweat a little. ND is the perfect matchup for him.

I hope CDC is watching.  Recruiting matters more than ever.

If teams aren't competitive with only 4 how are we going to be more competitive by adding more?

The first time I've seen an argument to expand the playoffs so we can get more losers that will score more in their loss

You're acting like they get the 4 teams right every year. They don't. It's entirely possible tOSU gets fucked on tonight, too.

To expound - with 8 teams, this game would feature the winner of a 4 vs 5 game vs Bama - assuming they beat an 8 seed. There is so much less guessing work involved and the teams in the semifinal games would be more deserving.

So... They said ND is "physical".

"Physical" is football code for "slow".

ND would not win the Big 12. That defense is slow.

Absolutely. You hear this constantly about Big 10 teams. They are physical and disciplined. Aka they are slow and unathletic. Ohio St is really the outlier there as they are closer to Bama and Clemson than any of the rest of that conference.

true, there were plenty of idiots saying they'll beat ou. they'd get blown the fuck out by ou and we'd probably beat them with the team we finished with

Because Notre Dame sucks worse than everyone in the top 10.

The only team that had an argument was Oklahoma. They should be in for Notre Dame and nobody else had a legit argument

It's more for Ohio State's sake than Notre Dame's.

Yes. We must do OSU a solid. At least the Big 12 is 4-0 so far in Bowl Games. OU would be more fun to watch than this shit. At least they can play and hold in the trenches.

More quality games in the middle 8 vs 1 a beat down but 6 v 3 and 5 v 4 could be epic, and upsets will happen but only if the sample size of games increases. Plus 8 v 1 is about the upset only, that 8 seed is playing to win the first game while 1 is trying to put together a 3 game championship run.

So the solution to your complaint isn't to add more it's to find the correct 4.

Because talented teams are being left out. Pretty much every year. This is flawed logic to view it as this. Imagine the NFL going to a system like this lmao

I mean that there's three clear Playoff-caliber teams this year, so you need a fourth school to make up the numbers. ND is that sucker.

Yes but there is no "argument" in an 8 team playoff. 4, 5 and 6 all get in. As do 7 and 8. So you would actually see which of them are worth a shit before the semifinal round. You wouldn't have years like 2014 where the 4th seed was the best team in the country and the left-out 6th seed was probably no worse than 3rd.

It doesn't matter. It should be 8 teams. I can make whatever argument I want and you can too and at the end of the day it should still be 8 teams.

ND RB the only one that looks ready to play today.

he made that last 10 yard play all himself.

their oline is also ready and their one strength. power runs and screens IMO. bama looks like that are being shot out of a cannon at the snap. have to use that against them. some misdirection, maybe a few trap blocks. that oline for ND is legit.

If that's your argument then maybe the issue is with the selection.  The original argument that I responded to was that somehow adding more teams would prevent ND from being in the game.  Adding more teams won't prevent ND from being selected it will increase the likelihood that more ND's are.

Simple math really.

BTW; I'm for expansion but for the right reasons not complete flaws.

This plus the 8-1 game will not be a hyped semifinal game just a first round underdog game.

Notre Dame in the semifinals is a polished turd.

tOSU gets speed.
Yes, I want a physical team, but there are enough fast physical guys... Even enough to qualify for NDs oh-so-high standards...

But ND isnt close to football talent (ie, South). ND is close to basketball talent.

If ND wasnt THE Catholic school, they wouldn't get into the CFP this season, after being blown out by #2 a couple weeks ago.

I get what ND is trying to do,  but tough to see it working when they are already down 14.

They want to play their way. I don’t see them making too many adjustments honestly. Jmo.

Notre Dame keeps shifting TEs around to try and generate mismatches. But they can't. Every Bama CB can take on ND's strongest TE, and every Bama LB can cover ND's fastest receiver. There are literally no mismatches that can be had.

Dude... of course the issue is with the selection. With 8 teams the selection matters much much less. They are never going to get it right every year. Water down their power.
