Not to mention the university sponsored keggers at The Union at the beginning of each semester. They did that when I was a Freshman in 79-80, but I don’t recall those by the time I was a Senior.

The dorms had floor sponsored keg parties over in Jester and Moore/Hill are back in the early 80's at the beginning of the fall semesters. Not sure if they did the same over in the Kinsolving area.

Volver Volver!

I love to play this song when hammered. Wife hates it when I blast this shit because she knows I’m hammered and about to start kissing people and speaking very loudly in Spanish.

Might I turn you onto Mariachi de Bronx then. They have several tracks in their collection that might connect with the drunk you

Damn... you just transported me back to the Jebel Ali “sandbox” circa September ‘96.  All three ships from our amphibious ready group were in port with only pierside liberty.  USO hired an Aussie ex-pat to DJ while 3000 Sailors and Marines sit around drinking skunked $1 Heinekens and smoking dried out Cubans.  The first night of Liberty he played this song and the entire throng belted out the “Who the fuck is Alice” part.  It nearly started a riot.  The ARG commander himself went up and told this guy not to play the song again.  30 minutes later, the DJ spins the record again and gets escorted out of the compound by security forces.  Good times.

Nowadays I'll have a sip, but my kidney advises me to stop long before the music starts.

I had no clue that The Raft of the Medusa, my single favorite painting in all of Paris, was on a Pogue’s album cover. Heady stuff.

Not sure if this counts, but Boomer Sooner makes me want to mainline meth and black tar heroin.

Just listened to David Allen Coe - "You Never Even Called Me By My Name"

Also get a kick hearing Alan Jackson - "Pop A Top"

That will do it - drink one for ol KT Oslin, she passed last week.  Come Next Monday is a good one

Oh man, I hadn't heard that.  KT Oslin was a friend of my dad's, they both went to Lon Morris Jr. College way back in the day and stayed in touch over the years.  He hasn't mentioned it to me, so he probably doesn't know.  That's a bummer.

When I was younger, and old Robert Earl Keen song would get me in the drinking mood, but for the last 10 or so years, I seem to get blackout drunk every time I hear The Eyes of Texas.
