One of the nice parts of hiring Sark is that I can now go back to hating Urban Meyer with every fiber of my being.

I was just thinking I hope he's a huge flameout for the Jags.

I'm not sure I "hated" him before this saga but yeah he can fuck off.

a lot of this was driven by the fact that Herman simply had to go.  He was a disgusting piece of shit that was torching our program on his way out the door.  Fuck him.  He was so much worse than people realize.

Can you elaborate? I know the public side. He was cocky and his humility felt rehearsed and insincere, and he did silly shit to look hip.

I'll be in the cautiously optimistic but burned before section, but at least winning won't be hard anymore.

He checks a lot of boxes and we weren't getting UM.

I'll be all in when he beats ou sucks.

Mack beat OU in his last year.

Charlie beat OU in his second year.

Herman beat OU in his second year.

Beating OU isn't enough. Beating them more than once in a row is my desire.

I really, really like this hire.
To fill its job opening, Texas needed someone with experience, who can coach, and who can recruit like a fiend. Sark is all three.
Yes, Sark has made mistakes. Serious ones that crushed USC. But he has apparently learned from them. And he's now at an age, 46, where he is coming into his prime as a college football head coach.
Perhaps most importantly, he is a charismatic leader, which this program desperately needs. Chuckles couldn't handle the limelight, and Mensa was just an asshole who couldn't win big conference games. Neither was big enough for the job. Sark has been at USC, Alabama (twice) and the NFL. He has been on this stage before.
Once, of course, it broke him. But if he has grown in the last five years, this could be a great hire. After a decade-long shitshow I want to believe. So I'm betting on a Sark redemption tour, kickass offenses, and I'm damn sure excited for 2021. Choo choo motherfuckers.

Texas is a terminal coaching job. There is no “up” from here. Win and build a dynasty. Lose and . . . well, ... Bye. (Curly Bill gif here)  We also pay handsomely for the opportunity. Be that as it may, Hook ‘em! 🤘😎

I agree it’s a terminal coaching job on that we have had to terminate our last six head coaches.  None of whom moved on to greener pastures.

With some speed and talent, along with Sark's offensive scheme things could get very exciting in Austin.

The question won't be about the skill guys.

Will Texas ever have badass assassins at OL again?  That will be the differentiating factor.

It just amazed me watching him scheme the best players into a mismatch ever play. The flares to the RB and how he could consistently design plays for the top WR in the game, that should always be double covered, to be matched upped in single coverage with a LB or Safety were pornographic.

Main line that koolaid straight into my veins on O. Even without that level of talent (soon mother fuckers... soon) the decided shift to a scheme that highlights your weapons will provide instant dividends.

Bijan has got to be thinking the sky is the limit...

You want sunshine? I’ll give you sunshine.

The hiring of Sark will turn out better than Meyer ever would have. Yup. Sark has been exposed to both Carroll and Saban’s greatness. His offense is a way better scheme than Meyer’s. According to a friend who knows him well he’s a great guy. He’s younger. He’s going to be better.

Unprovable statements rock.  If you had to pick right now between Sark and a motivated Meyer who wanted to come, who would you take?

Sark. Urban would've won a lot but I would've been a little conflicted about the team given that he's such a shitbag. We had to take the shot though.

I'm fine with this calculated risk on a younger guy without a history of fake health problems.

Same, Man....same.  I obviously don’t watch enough GOOD teams play, because I felt like I was watching football for the first time, again.  Both teams were playing REAL football and it was glorious.

Here’s to some REAL football being played in Austin in the very near future.

i'm sure i'm just echoing sentiments expressed last night, but who cares 😋...there were easily half a dozen offensive plays that i did a double-take on, as in "whaaa...??"

and they worked! i really hope he can bring that creativity here as head coach! i'm excited 😁

It’s irrelevant because the cosmic tumblers have aligned and dropped Sark into our lap. We were unlucky with Herman, McWilliams, Mackovic, Strong. It’s our time.
