They don’t need one man. The corporate opportunities in sunflower seeds and chicken farming sell themselves.

I just don’t understand why everyone always forgets about the vast opportunities in meat judging.

"The Tweltht Man Foundation is  a seperate entity from the athletic department"   see if the IRS believes them this time.

Of course. Already happening

That’s what I’m talking about. This is what we need. Literally cut out one Starbucks or CFA meal a month, $10,$20,50 a month May not seem like a lot but it adds up quick. Get your friends in too!

Is it better to split my donation evenly between Burnt Ends and Texas One Fund? Or should I favor one over the other?

You should double your contribution

That was the plan. But, I'll ask again so that even you can understand.

Say I currently contribute $1000 a month to Burnt Ends. And I want to have a total donation of $2000/month. Should I just do $1k each to Burnt Ends and Texas One Fund? Or should I do $500 to Burnt Ends and $1500 to T.O.F. ? Or just put it all in T.O.F.?

Burnt Ends benefits the tight ends and sometimes with overages, they help other guys out. TOF goes to the program and other programs at UT (if you choose). If TEs are really important to you, push in on BE. If they're important but so is the rest of the roster, then split it.

Neither. You should cut funding to both groups and instead donate to Junior Bonner's Human Fund, serving humans throughout the Bonner household.

Some of y’all have taken a long time to contribute to TexasOne. I’m glad more people are pitching in. I’m a little shocked there hasn’t been more participation prior to now. I’m extremely grateful to the guys who set it up. That was the hard part. Twenty bucks a month should be easy.

Anyone who’s gainfully employed and has time to waste on this board clearly has enough money at his disposal that he ain’t worried about his next meal or his kids’ education. That guy needs to donate. Otherwise, go make some more money and get the fuck outta here until you are no longer poor and can donate. Drive an Uber or something. Fuck. Do something productive with your phone. Surly and porn don’t count.

Yeah, I think once the tide turned on Collins, (still time to take him for granted), we are sweeping the remaining 5 stars we are finalists for, 5-stars like to play with 5-stars. Just can't completely shit the bed this season, which is also a slight concern.

Speaking of corporate (or moreso small biz / individuals), anyone know if that Opendorse platform has gotten any traction? Always felt like mobilizing all the small businesses in town could pay off big time but harder to crack than companies with big marketing departments, etc.

Love the burnt ends but depends on if you take the standard deduction or itemize. If you itemize your taxes I’d always recommend the approved 501c3

Take one parlay off your card and put that cash towards TOF. Easy

Not only do they not have a functional NIL, but they think that they have the best one and are way out in front.

Eve of announcement intel: Latest buzz ahead of Colin Simmons commitment
Horns247 Staff

TLDR version, courtesy Getafix:
  • Hank South:  Simmons to Texas.
  • Jordan Scruggs:  Simmons to Texas (still LOVES his CB).
  • Hudson Standish:  Simmons to Texas.
Rest of the article:  Turn the tide; inside track; upper hand; tipping his hand; close to the vest; recruiting is fluid; heavy smoke; pole position; traded blows; battled back and forth; traded haymakers; much needed momentum; SEAL THE DEAL!

Eve of announcement intel: Latest buzz ahead of Colin Simmons commitment
Horns247 Staff

The Texas Longhorns are in the middle of one of the fiercest head-to-head battles of the 2024 recruiting cycle with LSU regarding Duncanville (TX) five-star edge rusher Colin Simmons. The 6-foot-3, 225-pounder is set to announce his commitment on Thursday, Aug. 10 via the 247Sports YouTube channel.
As Steve Sarkisian, Jeff Banks, and Pete Kwiatkowski look to close on the five-star prospect and No. 1 target on the board, the Horns247 recruiting staff share the latest VIP intel on Simmons with less than 24 hours until his announcement.
Hank South: With just under 24 hours to go until we learn where five-star edge Colin Simmons will play his college football, my thoughts on the situation remain unchanged. As Horns247 has reported throughout the summer, there’s confidence on Texas’ end that the Duncanville star will end up in Burnt Orange. LSU was considered the early favorite, but since his summer official visit to the Forty Acres, sources have felt the Longhorns turned the tide, even withstanding a late visit to Baton Rouge at the end of July that resulted in buzz for the Tigers and industry predictions in favor of LSU.
Texas’ need at the position, the push, and the connections he’s built in Austin are significant and a major part of the reason I feel the Longhorns have the upper hand ahead of Thursday. Speaking with sources outside Texas, the feeling that UT has the inside track is growing in sentiment.

Simmons himself is keeping things very close to the vest and not tipping his hand one way or the other. And in this era of recruiting coverage it’s pretty impressive the unknown built around this announcement. When we caught up with him in person in June following his official visit to Austin, even then he declined to do an interview, opting to wait until he was done with all of his visits. He did, however, leave us with a "Hook 'em."
As everyone knows — and as I say often — recruiting is fluid. LSU and Miami aren’t just going to stop trying despite Texas buzz growing. There are no sure things in this business. But with all the information we’ve been able to gather, I believe there should be cause for celebration on the Forty Acres Thursday evening in what would a massive recruiting win for Steve Sarkisian and the Texas staff.
Jordan Scruggs: Early on in this recruitment, there was never just one school mentioned as a favorite by sources, it was always the pair of LSU and Texas. Depending on who you talked to around his sophomore and junior season, most would say that the Tigers were already in front of the Longhorns and that LSU had been in a better position much longer than Texas had.
The narrative that the Tigers were the leader was immediately changed as soon as Simmons made it to the Forty Acres for his Texas official visit on June 23, and within 24 hours of the visit starting there was already heavy smoke that the five-star would possibly be moving up his timeline, and in large part due to Steve Sarkisian and his staff absolutely crushing the visit with Simmons and his family.
I originally entered my 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction in favor of Texas for the five-star when I started to hear the aforementioned smoke as Simmons Texas official visit hit the 24-hour mark back in June. At first, I felt good about the pick (but not great) due to the long-planned visit for Simmons to attend LSU’s pool party at the end of July.
Fast forward to about a month and a half later, and the five-star took the highly anticipated visit to Baton Rouge, which was extended last minute to be a weekend stay and in turn canceled his visit to Texas A&M’s pool party.
Coming out of that weekend, the smoke around Simmons and LSU was at an all-time high, and for good reason, but that wouldn’t stop Steve Sarkisian and Co. from speaking with Simmons and his family every day as we got closer to Simmons’ planned commitment date for August 10.
While I do think LSU has been in pole position over Texas for a majority of the last two years, both schools really started to trade blows throughout the summer and nobody was able to gain more ground in this recruitment than the Longhorns who more than made it known to the five-star and his family that he is their No. 1 priority in the whole 2024 cycle.
The prioritization along with the pitch to play closer to home, opportunities to see the field earlier at Texas than anywhere else, post football opportunities, NIL opportunities, as well as the Texas staff using several players on the roster that had long standing relationships with the Duncanville native like Malik Muhammad, Johntay Cook, and Anthony Hill.
With all of those factors really starting to go in Texas’ favor, I started to gain more and more confidence earlier in the week but my confidence rose to a new level when I was able to speak with several Dallas area sources over the last 24 hours.
Simmons has yet to call either staff and to my knowledge, the plan is for each program to find out where he’s going just like the rest of the world will when the five-star announces his commitment at 2:00 PM CT tomorrow on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
Even though a call to a staff member to give a silent commitment is not expected, the sources I spoke with yesterday all reiterated that Simmons has known where he’s going “since the beginning”.
I’m definitely expecting some theatrics with Thursday’s ceremony, as those who’ve been following the five-star know that Simmons is a true showman. With that being said however, I mentioned yesterday evening that I “love” my crystal ball prediction and at the time of this writing I do not expect that to change and neither do sources.
Hudson Standish: When I joined 247Sports one of the first stories Mike Roach told me was about his conversation with now Ohio State EDGE Omari Abor when the former Top247 prospect was entering his senior year at DFW prospect factory Duncanville. Mike asked Abor who he needed to keep an eye on in the future and without hesitation, Abor called over his younger teammate Colin Simmons. Now a five-star, Simmons would make his mark as a sophomore on Duncanville's state title runner up squad, including a playoff game against Spring where in my first live evaluation of him he tipped multiple passes at the line of scrimmage resulting in interceptions and had a scoop and score strip sack.
Simmons level of play would only increase as a junior last season racking up 79 tackles, 33 TFLs, and 22.5 sacks en route to a state championship and MVP honors on TXHSFB's biggest stage. That level of production compounded by his athleticism and the Longhorns' need for instant-impact playmakers on the edge resulted in Simmons' vaulting to the top of the board as the 2024 cycle kicked off.
Texas and LSU battled back and forth leading into official visit season with the Tigers holding the advantage, but that shifted during the Texas OV. Steve Sarkisian, Jeff Banks, Pete Kwiatkowski, and Jeff Choate along with the support staff all pitched in and nailed it with the No. 1 target on the board answering nearly every question Simmons and his family had about the program and football fit before they even had to ask.
However the Texas official visit didn't completely seal the deal and LSU traded haymakers with a strong unofficial visit in late July providing some much needed momentum. While the usual caveats of "anything can happen in recruiting" should especially be taken into account with this recruitment, I'm sticking with Texas as the pick and trusting the intel we've been receiving and posting about over the last week. One last note, Miami is in Simmons' top three and while we've discounted the Hurricanes' chances their has been some chatter today about them having an outside shot. I'm not as convinced Miami is a threat to Texas here, and if Simmons selected The U it would be the biggest shock selection in my career, but I felt it was at least worth mentioning.

The only thing you left out is “2:00 PM Central”

Of course…I’m double booked on conference calls at 2 tomorrow

Girls who have kids and are gainfully employed read this board and donate too.

I have no doubt of that. My post wasn’t targeted at women because most of them are more productive with their time than men, and/or they waste their time on Pinterest or other garbage sites and aren’t going to donate to TexasOne, anyway. But if you felt left out, I apologize.
