At those restaurants that you walk in and order, then sit and wait for your food......the credit card terminal ask you for a tip when you order.

I think they kinda miss the whole point of tipping.  It's just "give me more money" at this point.  Can you get a refund if you get poor service?

This is EXACTLY what I came to post. Since when are you expected to tip 15%+ for counter service?  The whole point of tipping is to reward excellent service, particularly for waitstaff, bartenders, etc., that make less than minimum wage because tips are an expected part of their compensation. Now with those counter credit card terminals, you’re expected to tip a cashier, who is making at least minimum wage.

And for the surlyite they said “just don’t tip,” remember, the cashier is still putting your order together. Still ample time to slip a loogie in your Frappuccino.

I throw a buck, buck fifty for a carry out order if the server has handled everything all the way thru.  Not throwing it to a hostess who just hands me a bag of food.

Overheard at work bathroom of some homeboy lecturing his SO about their spending...  " I know you like seafood but that shit's expensive..."  Had to bite my lip to not bust out laughing.  There was more, talking about how they both make good money, should've stayed longer to hear more about it.

I used to be the one trying to bump draft the slow people to speed up. Now I just say screw it and slowly speed up and then cruise just below the speed limit. I enjoy getting people's pressure up. If it causes you to be late. Leave earlier the next itme. Also get off my lawn.

You are a certifiable piece of shit.  Just move the fuck out of the way.

Anyone who refers to me as my dog's dad. That shit is just disturbing on many levels.

Yep, I completely consider my dog as part of the family, but I ain't his dad. My son listens to me better than my dog (unless food is involved).

I get real ragey about people who abandon their pets cause they get too old, or it just isn't working out.

Yeah, that's a non-trivial thing that makes me surly.  If you adopt a pet, it's yours for life.  That's why I can't bring myself to let the wife put down our 19 year old cat.

Yeah, even when you're making the right decision it still sucks big time.  The problem is so many people consider pet ownership something very trivial.

Maybe I'm just jaded or a curmudgeon, but I can't stand the "day of the week" announcements at the office.  And every office has at least one of these people.

Monday:  "Happy Monday!  Ugh, wish it were Friday."

Tuesday: "Hi there.  One day closer to Friday!"

Wednesday: "Happy hump day.  We're halfway there!"

Thursday: "We're almost there. One more day!"

Friday: "Happy Friday!  We made it, haha!"

I hear some variation of this routine every day, every week either to me or to someone 10 desks away by a woman who sounds like corporate accounts payable Nina from Office Space.

My wife (no pics) generally works Tuesday thru Monday, and she absolutely hates Fridays, just because of that shit from all the M-F admin turds.

She usually gets her revenge on Mondays, though. She says it really pisses people off.   Plus the joy of sending lots of demanding emails over the weekend.

She works seven days a week? How is she getting revenge on Monday when she has to be back at work on Tuesday?

Uber drivers who aren't listening to directions from their fare. Hey fuckstick, I can tell you don't know where we're going and neither does your electronic toy. Try listening to your passenger who does know. Whatever, glad I'm not in a hurry nor paying for the gas.

or drivers bad with directions or don't know major streets in their own city

Damn...what does she do and is her job hiring?  I'm a hard worker and feel I deserve a vacation every other week.

Requires a medical degree, a shitload of debt, and the ability to work 16 hour shifts when you’re on.

Do the math. It ain’t no picnic.

But yes...she is hiring.

What about the people who announce that they're taking a couple of days off, so "Wednesday is my Friday! tee hee"

Shitload of debt?  Check!

Ability to work 16 hour shifts?  I can probably adapt.

Medical Degree?  Shit!  I'm out.
