Chug some coconut milk. if that works, better than you want, eat more jerkey. Life is about balance.

I wish I had some of the grape jelly from the old C-rats.  Being in the reserves, we did a lot of 2 and 3 day field exercises where we had to jam a lot of training into a little time.  I would eat a tin of C-rat peanut butter on the Thursday before going into the field, and it would stop me right up for a couple of days.  No shitting in the woods and running to catch up for Lcpl Scheiss!  Sunday afternoon when we got back to the reserve center, I would eat a tin of the grape jelly.  About 8:00 that night I would take a long, productive dump.  It worked very well for me.  Like you said, balance.

A salad with supper last night and another for lunch today and I have a nice, empty gut.  I ain't the Scheiss Meister for nothing.

It's the temp of the fucking sun here.  I walked by my Weber Smokey Mountain a couple of hours ago, and the thermometer was reading 160. Yeah, it's black and in direct sun, but WTF?

I fucking HATE motherfuckers in pro sports (football, mostly) that are a "junior" or a "Third".

Motherfucker, the name on the back of your jersey is supposed to be your LAST NAME.  If you're "Joe Jones III", your jersey should read "Jones", not "Jones III".  The suffix modifies your first name, not your last.

That cunt golfer started this shit.  Golf scores with "1: Woods  2: Mickelson 3: Love III"

No you cunt, your last name is LOVE, not LOVE 3

On a conference call between us and our partner architect. A little finger pointing, but holy crap, the same damn talking points have been rehashed at least 5 times by both sides.

People have meetings and do that so they do not have to do any work. Outcome? "Hey Fred, lets schedule another Microsoft Teams meeting."

Misuse of apostrophes.

The plural of Request for Information (RFI) is RFIs, not RFI's.  Similarly, the plural of Change Orders is COs, not CO's.

Shit like this drives me bananas.

OTOH, do you put an apostrophe on a time period? e.g. 80s, vs 80's. I guess it depends on how it is used. Is it 80s music? 80's music? Do you consider music made between 1980 - 1989 a possession of the time period? Inquiring minds want to know.

PS. I'm not an English major so any grammatical mistakes are due to ignorance / stupidity. Just wanted to bitch about apostrophes.

Clients who do not know the difference between a RFI/RFP/TO and a proposal. No Sir, the government did not write the proposal for you to respond to. You write one in response to their RFI/RFP/TO.

On the topic of punctuation, those who think that a single question mark isn't enough to indicate that it's a question.

Or that a single exclamation doesn't communicate any alert or any excitement at all.

I don't know why they think that, but I get texts like this!!

Why??

It irritates me to no end because I "hear" the question as urgent in my head. What's happening?? I don't know, but it is annoying!!

Why can't they just be satisfied with one question mark???

What in the...

I had to look up "interrobang" and now I'm surlier. Someone named Martin Spinchter, or something, "invented" it. And the world is a little worse.

Now I wonder if in Spanish they do the double upside to start it.

¡¡Pinche estupida puntuación!!

Work dress code that says no "athletic" shoes on casual days but allows Chuck Taylor's and Van's.

I got called out for wearing a brand new pair of trail running shoes and the woman standing next to me was wearing Adidas Samba soccer shoes and got complimented on "how cute they were!"

valet parking only is definitely a top surly inducing thing.

unless i need to park outside a crowded stadium wearing a suit, with my family, under a thunderstorm... theres basically no other scenario where the uneasiness of letting a stranger drive my car outweighs the inconvenience of me doing it myself.

and then you have to pay them on top of that? pffftt

The incompetence of the USPS. I've been checking the tracking on a package that arrived at the North Houston distribution center last Friday morning. It has since moved to Missouri City, Houston, North Houston, Missouri City, Katy, back to North Houston. Almost a week later and it's back to where it started. Good job, good effort.

A follow-up on my insurance saga of my damaged truck caused by an inattentive driver (you get one guess).

I finally received approval to get my truck fixed.  The other driver's insurance company sent me an email providing me with a reservation number for a rental car.  So I take my truck to the body shop and then go to the car rental company.  Two people are working the store.  One is checking people in and the other guy is out pointing out all of the features of the rentals to the customers like he is a salesman at a car lot.  He takes about 10 to 15 minutes doing a walk around with each customer.  People are getting impatient inside.

I finally get to the counter and tell them that I want the "express service".  I give them my reservation number.  The employee types in the number only to tell me that they do not have a car for me.  Naturally I ask "why?".  She tells me that they had tried calling me the previous week to confirm the reservation.  I told her that I never received a call so I asked for the number that they called.  Come to find out they did not call my primary number (cell) or my work number.  They called the third number listed which was my daughter's number to call in emergency.  They did not even leave a message for her when she did not answer the call.  So I launch into my Seinfeld inspired argument about the meaning of "reservations", even referring to the fact that this felt like a sitcom situation from said comedy.  Unfortunately there were no other cars at the site.  The best that they could do is to have a car available two days later.

I show up two days later to get my rental.  They take me to the lot only to find out that there is a Mitsubishi Mirage waiting for me.  I tell them that that car is not acceptable and that I am not into driving Little Tikes Kozy Koupes.  I told them that I should be getting a "like" vehicle similar to what I drive which is a Chevy 4-door Silverado.  I was told that is what the other insurers reserved.  Again, there were no other cars on the lot to opt out to.  They tell me that they could have something different the next day if I wanted to wait.  Mind you all of this is taking up precious time that I really do not have to spare.  So I tell them to give me the car.  The guy begins to tell me about the car.  I interrupt him to tell him that I rent cars all of the time and that I do not need the grand tour; just give me the keys and I will be on my way.  He reluctantly concedes and I am on my way.

Fortunately I received a call late this afternoon from the body shop advising that my truck is ready ahead of schedule and that I can pick it up tomorrow.

cretors cheddar & caramel popcorn is literally crack. the bag you buy at costco is huge and full but they fill the bottom with the caramel and the top half with the cheddar instead of mixing it up

This is a natural outcome of being jostled and shaken during transit. Caramel corn is heavier than cheese corn.

Wet countertops.

A bit less trivial - people who don't take care of office, and do things they wouldn't do at home. E.g. we've been in our brand new, beautiful office space for less than 2 months, there are already coffee stains on the countertops that won't come out. It's partly a poor choice of material, but it's also people spilling coffee and not wiping it off. The microwaves are disgusting even though we have food covers, and reminders in the microwave to cover your food. And I've seen people just brush crumbs off the table onto the floor. Shit that they wouldn't do at home (hopefully), but they do at the office. Makes no sense and pisses me off.

Oh, they do it at home too.

I've complained about this atleast once before but I'll complain again: most software implementation of the mute function is stupid.

The icon should say mic, not mute. It'll be colored red when mic is on, and gray/muted when mic is off. That's the color association everyone knows when an A/V equipment is on (or "hot"). Or render some skeuomorphic toggle switch in the On/Off states.

**

On the left state, the mic is muted but the icon is red.

On the right state, the mic is live but the icon is white, and it still has the crossed line that implies it's off.

The design is signaling conflicting things

This has probably already been discussed in this thread. And it may not be trivial. It may be more important than the potential for nuclear war. It is the use of the word “like” littered throughout the spoken word.

Kids, particularly girls, sound like immature little humans. Adults using the world “like” as a space filler sound like sub-100 IQ individuals.

The use of the word “like” as a space filler will destroy the world.
