How is this any different than picking the food up yourself?

That part isn’t different, just a downfall and highlighting how inferior picking up most foods to go is versus being served dining in. My broader point was how much it sucks to pay almost double for the honor of getting soggy inferior take out versus paying regular list price to pick it up yourself. In either case your food experience at home is inferior.

Agreed.

Some stuff travels well like pizza or chinese/Thai. A lot of stuff doesn't.

It's fucking stupid that every time I watch an old song on youtube there is a comment on there asking "who is listening in 2024?" I don't read them but they display so I inevitably bump into it.

Trivial? Yes.  Makes me surly.

I know two people who have had recent college grads come to job interviews with their parents in tow. One mother couldn't understand why she wasn't allowed in the interview with her adult child.

I don't know you in real life, but you can make that three if you want.  Also, we had a new hire that wasn't working out at all, untrainable, always late to work, argumentative to coaching.  We had to cut him loose and he showed up to appeal the decision with his mother, who did most of the talking (screaming).  We had to get security to escort both of them out.

Or if the delivery driver is dicking around on the way and takes way longer than what a customer would driving straight home I think.

WAY BEYOND SURLY at this one.

I had a lull between my projects so I volunteered to help a team in another part of the country (not Seattle) with their project. Bid date was 08/19 (Who the fuck bids a project on Monday?)

Anyway, had to book 2 trips, go there on Tuesday, come back on Friday to attend my wife's grandmother's funeral, fly back on Sunday and leave Monday.

Now the bid date is pushed to 08/26 (Who the fuck bids a project on Monday?). My initial thought was to keep everything the same, but push it back a week. But I turn 50 on the 21st, and there's no fucking way I spend my birthday alone in another city.

I've told their division president I'll get there Thursday. We'll see what happens. But this whole work thing is really cramping my lifestyle.

So good news (?). We dropped the bid, and I won't be flying out to El Paso, on my birthday. I get to spend the entire day in CA with my family.

Maybe this belongs in the trivial things that please the ever shit out of you?

I’m not saying that all delivery drivers are the smartest, but they’re getting paid by the delivery so they’re incentivized to not dick around. They make more money the faster they can complete a delivery.

A Chick-fil-A that doesn't have a drive-through?  Or would that be too much human interaction?

I remember when there weren’t any stand alone Chic-fil-a restaurants. You had to go to the mall for that goodness.  Maybe grab an Orange Julia’s too.

Julius. And absolutely. I hated malls. Mom would bribe me with a sandwich and a trip to the hobby store. I would still pitch a fit when it was time to get clothes for my brothers at JC Penny's. I was a lot younger. All my clothes came from the PX. Talk about knock off brands.

Back to food delivery. Pisses me off when something is missing. Like the drink. Are you going to wait for them to go back and get it? Nope.with chocolate at the bottom. Co-Worker one night ordered a sundae from McDonalds. I laughed. It arrived as expected. Vanilla milk

Still irritated with light bulbs that stay lit for a fraction of a second after I turn off the switch.

This is a feature not a bug. It's called a "fade" and helps you see where you're going as you leave the room/area etc when you turn off the light. It's usually around 1 second, but can be as long as 2 seconds.

Climate change has caused the speed of light to decrease, so it's really just caused by the last few light waves finally reaching your eyes after you hit the switch.

People who cannot do a simple job. Two examples I have seen in the past 24 hours. First is in a movie theater. I rarely go, is this normal? If so who thought it was smart? Second is just pure fucking laziness. They redid the entire street and all the rest except these two are fine.

Why is it every time I buy coffee to go, the coffee lid is invariably positioned so the drink hole is right above the seam of the cup?

Like, there's 360° of cup but 99 times out of 100 that lid rotated in a way so that the drink hole is positioned smack above the seam of the cup. This can't be a coincidence.

Kind of like USB plugs.  You'd think you have a 50% chance of putting it in the correct way.  But no, 100% of the time, it's wrong.

When I can I like to have my doctor’s appointments first thing in the morning to minimize lost time. I had an appointment at 8:20 this morning. They did not call me back until 8:50. How can you already be 30 minutes behind so early in the day?

Apparently you’re not familiar with @tx 3 putt work/posts in the IPIHB forum, otherwise, you’d understand.

What is with (some) women drivers who don't pay attention with what's going on around them, who then deliberately speed up and try to close the space between their car and the one in front when I've already had my blinkers on for the past 30 seconds and have partially moved into their lane?

Fifth and Sixth words in your sentence. That is all you had to say.

digital cameras have gotten really good at shooting in the dark, so there's more night landscape scenes in shows and movies. but you can tell from the hard shadows that they're just shooting in daylight with a heavy filter applied instead of actually being in the dark.

Words of wisdom from my dad, "Losing 15 minutes in the morning will get you an hour in the afternoon."

Short videos that autoplay on apps, such as the MLB app, but when clicked to view larger they insert an ad in front of it before resuming playing.

Also, 20 second ads on clips that are 15 seconds long.

Also, any advertisement in general.

Surly-making? Any TV ad for drugs that have 48 of the 60 seconds listing side effects.

Especially when they include hair loss, blindness, shortness of breath, decrease in libido, and "cardiac events including stroke, heart attack, or sudden death".

I need to listen better - I've only heard unwanted anal leakage, which I would have thought unneedfully clarificational.
