Some Jamaican news,   Sounds like the injures are hitting them as hard as us,

from a Jamaican fan:

- Daniel Johnson (Preston North End) has now pulled out of the squad. There goes a locked in starter in the already depleted central midfield.

So this brings the total absence list to:

Out

Daniel Johnson
Leon Bailey
Ethan Pinnock
Cory Burke
Anthony Grant
Ravel Morrison

Questionable (haven't dropped yet but might due to injury)

Liam Moore
Jamal Lowe

There's no word yet on replacements but Johnson's absence leads me to believe that we will actually be starting JeVaughn Watson in the midfield on Thursday. This is the 38 year old with 5 club appearances in the last 2 years (3 coming this year for a small club in the Jamaican top tier).

We are not a serious team and we don't belong in Qatar, so it is what it is. I accept it.

I'll just say this to USMNT fans: If you do not walk out of Q2 stadium with AT LEAST 2 clear goal victory, you should just send Berhalter packing. We are a joke, so anything less is simply not acceptable for a side with the quality and ambition of the USMNT.

I think that if Jamaica hadn’t had such a poor showing in September, some of these “injuries” wouldn’t be enough to keep the English-based players from traveling.

But when you add their poor performance in September to the whole “red nation” travel issue, those “injuries” suddenly become significant enough to keep guys back in England over having them travel to matches in “Developing countries” on suspect pitches.

I’m sure that John Brooks’ back problems are completely unrelated to his disdain for CONCACAF away games and CONCACAF competitions in general. 🙄

I did not think that Gregg would immediately place him back in the starting XI based on the way he responded to a US Soccer podcast question last month.

He said that McKennie had served his punishment, but that he still needed to earn back his teammates’ and the staff’s trust.

I took this to imply that he wouldn’t start the first game back, but rather would start on the bench and then be reinserted into the starting XI if he could show that he could respect the team rules. I was wrong.

Odds that Q2 has the "hold near reader" ticket scanners working for this game? Was a clusterfuck when those were the tickets for USWNT against Nigeria. I'll be ready with the ticketmaster bar code but hoping to not have a 30 minute entry process again.

Hopefully months of Austin FC experience will make that better. I have the tix in my Apple wallet, which has worked fine for all the Austin FC games.

Yeah same, but the US tickets in the apple wallet don't have a QR or bar code. At least mine don't. They say "hold near reader" like the screenshot below.

Those "tap" scanners were not functional at the USWNT game so everyone had to login to ticketmaster to get the barcode which cause the line to move incredibly slowly. But yes I would hope they've worked out the kinks since that was the very first event at Q2.

I emailed our season ticket rep for AustinFC about this and his response was "The ticketing is all done through US Soccer and Ticketmaster. There will be ticket reps at Ticket HQ assisting at the stadium if you need help, but there are no barcodes.".  I don't have a ton of faith this is going to go well.
