Lauren Boobert - Tits and a Gun

She's not a bad public speaker.  It's all unfactual garbage, but she does have a bit of the "it" thing to get the base going.

That's why I considered it nightmare fuel.  It's like a TED talk for the easily duped.  I guess you could call it a GED talk (with the 'G' having a 'J' sound like Jed).

I still remember my father watching these WWII documentaries on WGN as a young kid.  And he would point to this man speaking passionately and recite the same thing in shock, "A failed painter led a country the size of Montana to war with the world.  And it took 6 years to stop him."  It wasn't until I was like 8 years old that I learned 'failed painter' meant artist, not like a house-painter which is what I envisioned as a kid.

This failed restauranteur wears her inferiority complex like a six shooter at her side.  But she can project optimism and blame like few I have seen in a long while.  MTG comes across as dour and petty.  Boebert comes across as something far more dangerous because she's far too comfortable in her own skin.  She'll be burning something, a book or an ethnicity or my cheeseburger order before the end of this decade.

Now I'm not a constitutional scholar, but I do think I heard once about this concept called the separation of church and state.  But I could be making that up.

Anytime anybody I know in Texas brings this up in person or FB or whatever, I like to point out that Catholics are the largest religious sect in the state, and that if they want more God in the classroom and government, then we'll be getting orders from the Vatican.

Had it happen more than once in my wife's former Sunday school class, and they get really silent when I point out that if they want their kids taking orders from the Vatican, they should send their kids to Catholic schools.

what church has she attended the past 10 years ?

also a record of her charitable contributions in those past 10 years.

1. A Baptist church.

2. Way too much for my liking, but pre-covid they offered decent childcare and summer camps and other activities, so it was easy to ignore.

Most of these people, especially Baptists, have not really thought about the fact that Catholics are the largest denomination in Texas - they get so focused on the megachurches, the seminaries up in North Texas, etc. and the whole Bible Belt thing.  And they don't realize the Lutherans, Methodists, etc. are not going to march to the Baptist way of life.

Well thanks a lot for the fucking nightmare fuel

History books will compare the Nuremberg rallies with what happened at that strip center mega church.

we’ve always been this gullible and stupid.  But we used to try to hide that fact.  Now we can’t broadcast it more proudly enough

"If Jesus showed up today, he would say everything that you can say, you will have it!"

That sounds like Jesus to me. You say you want the homos not to marry; Jesus says, done!

You say you want a quasi-religious fascist cult running the US with malice towards all; Jesus says, outstanding idea! Done!

You want a nice house? Just say it!

I'm not religious, but these guys really hate having Christ as part of Christianity. At least a lot of people will be harmed if they have their way, so there's that. Well, not real people.

What would Jesus don't?

And I didn't even cover the fact her baby daddy and now husband got kicked out of a bowling alley for pulling his dick out. It don't get more whiskey tango than that -- fuck!"

Blasphemous Prosperity Gospel is a grift. The God of the Old Testament would have smited her down.

This page brings home a sad fact of modern Christian life. My wife was raised in Abilene in the Church of Christ, and until I made a reference to the red letter Bible, she had never heard of it, nor had she heard the term "red letter Christian".

They hardly ever quote the man whom their religion is supposed to be based on. They ought to be called "Paulites" not "Christians".

If I could attend any one of her Town Halls, I would gleefully wait in line until I could stand at the podium & say:
"I do not let women teach men or have authority over them.  She must remain quiet.

You can find that in 1 Timothy, 2:12

Bitch.

I yield the balance of my time."

They needed a Glock-19 when it happened?  Meaning, the rape.

Uh, does she understand how the vast majority of rape works?  It's someone you know, it's a date, it's a relative, it's a friend, it involves drugs and/or alcohol, it's usually in a familiar place or a hotel...not some back alley.  Most women don't show up to a date or a college party or family house party with a fucking Glock-19.

I would suggest that Congresswoman Boebert get brought up to speed on how most rapes happen in modern society.  And nobody better to give her the first-hand tutorial than her husband who himself is a convicted sex offender.

These video bites of Boebert and Greene seem to come during "general speeches," which are unrelated to pending legislation.

We probably ought to abolish that shit.

Remember when Weiner made that grand speech from the House floor to an almost empty chamber?  It was railing against something quite obvious ("You must NOT say the sky is blue!" type generic shit) & he was for around 10 seconds celebrated as Mr. Awesomesauce...

Rep. Lauren Boebert declares that Christians must rise up and remove ungodly leaders from power

Oh, I agree with her 100% on this idea...just as long as she is the first ungodly bitch removed from power.  While they are at it, please sell admission to her stoning or crucifixion or whatever old Christian punishment they can think of.  This wacko is the very definition of "ungodly leader".

I can understand how she accidentally paid 4 months of rent from campaign funds.  One time I went a stretch of 5 straight months in which I paid my utility bill out of a combination of 3 of my kids' checking accounts on which I am a co-signer.  I tell you, it shocked me when I realized what I had done, and I immediately reimbursed their money.  They were very understanding.

I'm not sure how Venmo works, but I imagine that it is tied to just one bank account.

So if you use Venmo, you know pretty damned well which account it's coming from.

And who would use Venmo to pay rent, anyway?

And, her fucking hubs makes half a million a year, wtf are they doing dipping into campaign funds?

I use it rarely, but I just checked the app and it shows my checking account, and also has a "+ add bank or card" option, so presumably one could draw on multiple banks or accounts.

Republicans decry the use of other people's money to pay for things.  That's socialism.

So what do they call it when they use campaign funds (money from the rubes) for rent and mileage reimbursement when they traveled around the planet 7 times during the campaign and when they buy their books with campaign funds.

She was fighting socialism by paying the socialist Democrat tax lien with freedom funds.

TIL she represents Durango and that gave me the sads. Spent one of the most fun, drunken nights of my life in that town.

LaPlata County (Durango) was +16% for Boebert's Democratic Party opponent.

Grand Junction (county: Mesa County) was +27% for Boebert. https://coloradosun.com/2021/06/01/lauren-boebert-unaffiliated-voters-colorado/

Mesa County has the crazy election official who teamed up with the Pillow Guy to  overthrow the election.

She does not represent the vast majority of the people of Durango.

The Western Slope becomes very red as you go north from Durango. With the upcoming redistricting with the addition of a representative she will not be representing Durango in the future.

Same with Telluride.  Ridgway on the other hand...

Honestly, I've spent a lot of time in Ridgway the past year and the people are nice, but just rural and uninformed.
