This is inaccurate. Bills in the House are prefixed with H.R. for "House of Representatives." A simple resolution would be styled H.Res.

HB isn't a thing in Congress, but it used for house bills in the Texas Legislature.

Yeah you're right.  Got my legislative history twisted up. Despite practicing in a federal area for most of my life, I think I've done more Texas legislative history research.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. Do not underestimate this gal. I don't like her, the drama is a distraction, but it is working for her and she and MTG are holding their own in the GOP. They waited too late to sideline them, and now they have to bring them to the dance. They are there to suck up the news cycle, generate outrage, and otherwise create chaos as they grift and publicity seek.

You can call her stupid and as I've said before--she's not traditionally smart as near as I can tell, but she has the other kind of smart. We'll see if she flames out, but she has two years to cause problems if they don't find their spine and  kick her out soon.

Can we call a moratorium on use of the term "gal?"  Also, if we're already making requests, how about "hubby" goes away for a while.

She's trashy as fuck.

We don’t even elect people who have their shit together enough to be porn stars, like Italy has. No, we elect people who can’t even make it that far - they just hit a level of “cheap and trashy,” and park there.

Pure America. This is what we are.

Since neither (Boebert or Greene) are likely to be removed, I'm guessing Boebert, provided she weathers the Insurrection fracas, will win the Crown for Queen of the Deplorables. Marjorie Taylor Greene is crazy, but Boebert is cunning.

Pics?

Ilona Staller, former Italian MP:

She remains active in politics: In 2012, Staller founded the Democracy, Nature and Love Party (DNA). Its objectives included the legalization of same-sex marriage, the reopening of former brothels ("closed houses"), a guaranteed minimum wage for young people, improvements to the judiciary, and the elimination of the privileges of the rich political "caste".

I love all the weird shit that comes to light. This story from July

https://www.thedailybeast.com/qanon-curious-house-candidate-lauren-boebert-of-colorado-gave-her-customers-diarrhea?via=ios

In 2017, a Colorado restaurant’s tainted pork sliders poisoned dozens of attendees at a local rodeo, who came down with symptoms ranging from nausea to bloody diarrhea. Now the restaurant’s proprietor is running for Congress on her small-business-owner credentials

Authorities suspected the food had not been stored at proper temperatures. When health inspectors visited Smokehouse 1776 a couple days after the rodeo, they found it had no “cold holding” or “hot holding” procedures to maintain safe food temperatures prior to service. They also found that the restaurant “does not maintain temperature logs so there was no way of showing that food was kept at proper temperatures,” and reported “bare hand contact with ready to eat foods, no handwashing station, [and] no barrier protection from insects.”

Health regulations are communist! Why do you hate the freedom....to make people shit their guts out...while also having “tort reform” that makes wrongdoers immune from any consequences?!?! You sound like a commie socialist, and probably also a Muslim because you the pork sliders.

Boebert has to be thankful to Rep. Greene. Because of her, Boebert isn't the most insane member of Congress this term.

and yeah...not proud of it...but would.

I'm not keen on the tweets dragging her for not graduating high school. That she waited until right before running for Congress to get her GED, put that on blast and fire away with it obviously not being a priority. But she was a teen mom, and while many unrecognized teen moms do graduate high school, it's a tough row to hoe.

That still doesn't make her acceptable as a Congresswoman, however. Her track record of being able to skate on offenses implies an ethos at odds with the rule of law that she is duty bound to observe and follow. Based on the photos of her 'associates' back home in Rifle, she has some sort of an allegiance with them and if they are actual 'Oath Keepers' members, then they are current or former military, law enforcement or first responders in some form or another. That should (although it doesn't) make people queasy. It's that whole in-groups that laws protect but do not bind and out groups whom the law binds but does not protect concept. Calling up your constituents and saying 'hey y'all lets go wilding at the Capitol' really really should not be swept under the rug. But it's going to be.

The GOP has determined it will be swept away like yesterday's ashes.

I'm very keen on those tweets.  Nothing about her indicates she's a deep thinker.  She's made one mistake after another, and here she is, in Congress.  Public figure, how does it work?

This district is likely to get safer for her in a general election as Colorado is gaining a seat

The redistricting commission will likely create a more competitive seat, in order to shore up incumbents, near FoCo/Greeley, removing Aspen and Glenwood Springs from Boober’s CO-3 district into CO-2 with Boulder to make up for loss of the northern part of that district to the new CO-8.

The liberal, rich ski towns currently keep it from being a blowout R win, but that’ll change. It’ll be almost everything west of the Rockies and south/southwest of Colorado Springs, dominated by rural towns like Rifle and Grand Junction. Pueblo alone isn’t enough to keep it competitive.

She can lose in a primary but this district will end up safe R, I’m sure.

Eh, I believe in nuance to a certain degree, admittedly hard to do with the character limitations of tweets. I don't agree with a general slander/stereotype--hey you're an idiot you couldn't even graduate high school. At the same time, I don't think we should celebrate idiocy, certainly not in governance. I've said it before: she's not a deep thinker, she is cunning. Those two things can exist simultaneously mostly without any repercussion  if you're a white female. Sarah Palin made it pretty far with not being a deep thinker even if she didn't have the rap sheet.

Haha--fair enough. I don't like her. At all.

I am, however, a little sensitive about the HS/GED/College comparisons admittedly. I take her to task more for the lateness of going to complete the requirements (for show) than I do anything.

A lot of that has to do with my family background/class, and being first gen college I'm sure.

It's a huge district that includes Pueblo, Aspen, Crested Butte, Steamboat and the entire Western Slope.  Basically the entire western half of the state.  So it's got some diverse pockets of blue vs red.
