Great find! I see his pic with kids in Ep 1, and he doesn’t look familiar yet. I’ll look some more.

I play 4-5 nights a week and know every regular as we only have 5-6 $2/5 tables running, max.

No cameras are allowed to be used, so he’s breaking house rules FWIW

ETA: ah, he’s plying $2/2 which I now avoid with the rake increase. It was arguably already unbeatable

It's funny how a prolonged downswing can tilt you and make you question if you even know how to play the game.

I question it even when I'm on a sun run.

Like all things poker "it depends". It can be a very nice weapon given the game and villians.

I think I need to expand my 3-betting range preflop in position.

Can you define your current button ranges for:
-Opening (includes opening over limpers)
-Calling a strong* raiser
-Calling a weak* raiser
-3betting a strong raiser
-3betting a weak raiser

*I determine strong vs weak as a combination of villains position (ie open raising UTG is almost always strong while open raising CO is frequently weak) and villains betting pattern (ie if they sometimes open limp, then when they open raise we know it’s stronger; also betting size tells). It’s also helpful to recognize if they were possibly targeting the limpers in front of them.

Needless to say, your opportunity is that last bucket, but you need a solid foundation in the prior buckets to base it on, because that’s what villain may be using to characterize YOU when determining how to respond to your 3bet

I don't know what your range is, but I think that comment is generally true for most 1-3 and some 2-5 players.  Especially if you are playing deeper stacks.

At the end of the month we’re going to stream a new game, $2/5 with a $25 BB ante. Buy-in will be $500-2000.

Lots of discussion and uncertainty on how it will play, but sounds like it should generate a lot of action from both $2/5 and $5/10 players. I’m guessing it drives a lot wider range from CO+ and BTN straddle will be OP

Just randomly jumped to a place on the feed
Q663 not a good hand
Q854 not a good hand

I’m trying to play proper on tonight’s stream. VPIP is probably 10%!

Anyone played at Winstar lately? I haven't been there in about 3 years and I've got a 3 day weekend. The last time I played there the orientals out of Dallas were fucking brutal.

Brutal hand at 3 hours 1 min, when I have AsAc2s2c in SB

Board runs 442KT and villain has K994

I'm an omahahahha fish, but seems like you lost the minimum there.

I'm relatively new to PLO but I'm never potting bottom set multiway on a Q-5-6 two hearts board. In fact I'm probably folding that flop quite often. Am I too much of a nit?

He was definitely a “bet to see where I’m at” kind of player. I’m not sure I fold to most bets on the flop, but like you I’m certainly not open potting it like he did

CHRIST ALMIGHTY this was tilting. Hmmm, let's see I'm 52% three ways, wonder if I should put $200 in then fold for $450 more. Eat dicks.

Realistically, if there were such a spot the pros and locals would ruin it. Instead, I’d look to where the whales are highest density, which is likely Wynn, and plan to play tight. Aria, Bellagio, and Venetian will have plenty of games, but they’re going to be pretty tough, generally since it’s offseason for tourists. I played MGM in Feb just to mix it up, but it’s pretty low frill and small ball.

i was in Vegas for 14 days in October and November. the poker rooms I went to, Caesars and Resort World, were strict about wearing masks.

other than poker rooms, i found that casinos didn't care at all about people not wearing masks.

Headed out Jan 7th. Hoping to get some poker in for sure. If I’m at Aria…is there anywhere else close by I might consider for a game? Maybe just play there?

Hoping Covid doesn’t crush this trip. Been waiting to see the Raiders too.

Location-wise, obviously easiest to just play at Aria and it’s nice well run room. Can also walk thru Vdara lobby over to Bellagio not too bad of a walk. Other than that just check the BravoPoker app and decide what looks good.

This is happening tonight. After a month of near-nightly discussions, it still appears no one has any idea how it will play out. Could be a train wreck and/or a ton of fun.

Before stream, sitting at standard $2/5 w $800.

HJ limps, BTN makes it $30. In the meantime UTG mistakenly tosses his cards on the floor and then tables 4dTs. I look down in BB at KsQs. No royal for me, but what the hell, I call. HJ joins. $90 pot.

AsJs3h. Fucking hell!

Checks to BTN who makes it $60. We both call. $270 pot.

Td. Bing! Check to HJ who makes it $50 w $200 more behind. BTN ($2k) makes it $150. I take a bit of a gamble that HJ will shove and open up betting again, so I just call. Sure enough, HJ shoves, BTN calls, and I shove over top. BTN calls.

$1930 pot.

5s. Not sure I needed it

HJ shows ATo. BTN folds when he sees my cards, so not sure about him.

Ship it!
