No, you don't get it. When shit hits the fan, everyone is going to want gold. Not food, water, shelter, toilet paper, guns, ammo, or any other necessities. Gold will be the most valuable thing in the world.

Don't forget your Mercury dimes. You'll need those Mercury dimes to barter for eggs and potatoes, just like people do right now in Honduras and Somalia. Mercury dimes!

Seriously, the Russian troll game on this board is a hot mess right now.

Speaking of Russian trolls, apparenty the GME redditors might be "Russian Disruptors".

So ridiculous.

Finding gold and silver bugs in the wild is always an eye opening experience.

Except that once you get them talking, they'll never shut up.

Or wait, maybe I'm thinking of bitcoin investors...

As a Peloton owner, I feel triggered by the post.

musk: to what degree are you beholden to citadel?

vlad: market makers did not pressure us in to the restrictions we put in place due to the clearing house capital restrictions?

musk: wouldn't they have a strong say (in this happening)?

(other people in the background silently laughing)

I must say I am less than impressed with this supposed silver squeeze. A 2 dollar bump in price is not all that unusual. Sure, somebody came out of the woodwork and bought up lots of physical, or is that just the dealers holding back expecting higher prices? I want to see some big dumb mindless mob action.

I really don't see the strategy working with a commodity, but I'm very interested in seeing how it goes. If it works, I have half a mind to set up r/farmsteeetbets.

I’ll just note their are massive fund longs in pretty much every Ag commodity right now, with corn and soybeans inverted and wheat nearly there.

lulz...

Unpopular opinion: I think he is spot on here. The hysteria around what amounts to be a black swan or black swan-like speculative bet of a generation is going to encourage a bunch of anti-social neckbeards that they have figured out and broken the secret to Wall St. and they will chase those dopamine highs of the last week and it's not a sustainable path to healthy living in this world.

I'm reminded of what Ignatius J. Riley would be if he lived in 2021, complete with yellow-stained sheets in his mom's basement complaining that GME and NOK and BB are making his valves hurt.

This was always going to end the same way:  A collapse and capitulation.  It's been this way since tulips made the scene.  While I love the small guy kicking the shit out of Hedge funds, it's unfortunate that a bunch of neck beards have learned all the wrong lesson about market investing.  To use a casino analogy: It's not about hitting a specific roulette number, it's about using a simple, disciplined card counting +/- system to grind black jack into solid gains.

It’s not real, nobody on wallstreetbets is making that recommendation, it’s bots, and they are getting downvoted to Bolivia. It’s an example of market manipulation by feeding BS to financial writers and saying that “Redditors” are driving it.

You had me going until you mentioned a basement, in New Orleans. Because we both know that Ignatius was averse to entering the Har' o' Darkness outside town.

But maybe it was the basement of Myrna Minkoff's future Crypto-Feminist Dog-Walker Co-Op in the hills outside Burlington, Vermont.
