I saw a clip of Herbstreit saying they'd have different commentary crews in dynasty that would be based on the importance of the game.

That mean someone is going to have Dave Lapham talking about jack hammer feet?

Or Lowell Galindo talking about having to stand on an apple crate to get his mouth lined up with the glory hole.

Never understood why only EA NCAA basketball had the ESPN weekday crew with vitale and the CBS crew for weekend games. EA FIFA eventually followed suit and put in league announcers and cup announcers, FIFA eventually included the proper presentation graphics for the main leagues as well.

It’d be cool to have big10/12 games covered by Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt, ESPN have their tier 2 and 1 broadcasters and CBS crew for SEC games.

You want to listen to the fools that cover sec football every time you fire the game up?

Any chance Ewers is a cover athlete? There will be multiple cover athletes but just one QB, so Ewers will probably have to beat out Shedeur Sanders, Jalen Milroe and Carson Beck among returning QBs.

Matt Brown: Here's what I know about the EA Sports College Football 25 cover athletes

Quote

I’ve previously reported that EA Sports College Football 25 is tentatively scheduled to come out on July 19, with a “full reveal” from EA Sports coming in May. While previous reporting (from myself and other reporters) has mostly focused on licensing, assets, and intellectual property, I’m told that the company plans to provide additional gameplay and feature information in their May update.

One of those details the company plans to release in May? Who is going to be on the cover of the game. I’ve been making calls of my own, and I can share some details to help everybody narrow their guesses a bit, thanks to multiple conversations I’ve had with multiple individuals with direct familiarity with EA’s cover choices. I can share that:

  • There are multiple cover athletes, since EA is releasing multiple versions of the video game.
  • Each cover athlete is a current college football player who plays in a different power conference. There was plenty of internet speculation that the cover athlete could potentially be a coach (Nick Saban?), or any number of athletes that played during the years the game was not released (previous Heisman winners?) or even fans/mascots (the Oregon Duck?!?). Those were reasonable guesses, but I’ve been told that the athletes will be current athletes…people you will see play actual college football this season.
  • The athletes all play different positions. That means there’s only one quarterback, one running back, etc.

Happy guessing!

So I'm seeing one player total from each conference? Since we're now SEC, it'll be interesting to see who they add. We'd have to beat out the Georgia, Bama, and LSU rosters, etc.
Hopefully, the cover curse doesn't come back after the long break.

The hate would be flowing. Bring it. It don’t make a shit.

I think there are going to be multiple individual cover athletes for the regular version.

I don't think I've ever preordered a digital copy of a game. Trying to figure out when I'll be able to play. Preorder says game will be available July 16th. If I look at PlayStation it shows this:

Does that mean download will start then? Or I'll be able to play it then?

Thanks.

ok so I haven't bought a video game system or game since Ps3 ages ago and I am completely out of the loop.  I want to play the new CFB game and I'm leaning towards Playstation. Any particular place I should buy it from or which version/package I should get? I figured I need two controllers but that is all I really know. I would assume there are the same price pretty much everywhere.

Since it’s been out a while it’s easy to grab one directly from Sony at the PlayStation site.

Unless someone does a bundle you can find for cheaper at a game store…but the bundle usually has a game. I didn’t see any with CFB 25.

Prime Day is in a few days if you’re on Amazon. That’s an option if they do a deal.

I said fuck it and bought on Amazon along with a couple games and controller since that’s running through my Amazon cc that gets 5% back.

Ordered the football game and MLB the show through Best Buy and picking up next week. Ready to relive my teenage years next weekend.

Couldn’t get dynasty to work for me in my short little play time this evening. Something about the cloud.

Did a play now in the Cotton Bowl and the fans were on the wrong sides. Not a great first hour of the game for me.

I know I probably missed the conversation.

Can't play until next week, so I was just going to wait for a hard copy anyway.  Any benefit one way or the other, digital/hard copy?

No. There's only downsides because physical you need the disc.

You have to have the disc in the console to play even though the game doesn't use any data from the disc. It's solely for drm, that alone rules physical copies out for me.

I've read that the sliders posted on Operation Sports (sorry, can't get working link on work iPad) are great at making the game a little "easier" or at least more realistic. I will try it out when I get home today. That being said, I have one dynasty going right now to just try out things. I went 10-4 in year two with Southern Miss, mainly because I got them to 8-2 before I skipped the last few games. I almost never play defense, just offense. That keeps the games from taking too long and keeps me from throwing my controller. :) Anyway, the game isn't perfect but dammit I love it. Been waiting a long time. Some things I really really like so far:

PROS:
- LOVE the graphics and the movement of the players. Looks GREAT. Forgot to say, I got rid of my original Xbox One and got a new gen just for this game. So, I am not used to these updated graphics. I played Madden       some on the Xbox one, but not a lot. So my real experience in football games was years of playing on the PS3 and the last few years on CFB revamped.
- The "little things" 1. The players on the sidelines help brace for impact when a player runs out of bounds. Maybe not every time, but it happens. Can't remember if coaches do too.
- Little thing 2: They have updated the "hometown" list so it includes a LOT more towns. Love that I can put my hometown now.
- Little thing 3: You can set pipelines and instead of "Texas" or "Iowa" they have other areas like "Metro Atlanta", "East Texas", and more. Very cool.
- Little thing 4: Some of the pregame stuff is cool. In year two of my dynasty they referenced the matchup the year before. Surprised me.
- The sounds on the game are VERY NICE. Makes me want to upgrade my sound system. I haven't paid too much attention to the play-by-play, but it sounds ok. I like that they have different crews depending on the         game.
- Recruiting is pretty challenging, especially when you are a one star or two star team. I like it though, makes it more challenging. The transfer portal thing is really cool too.

CONS:
- WHY THE F DID THEY CHANGE THE WAY YOU DO A READ OPTION!?!?! This is really throwing me off. Will take some time to learn.
- Teambuilder is not on the game...yet. I hope it gets in there soon.
- You cannot edit players/recruits in Dynasty. That really sucks. If I want a 300 lb running back with a fat belly, dammit, I want to be able to do it.
- You can't edit real players in the main menu. Ex: I wanted to increase Jaydon Blue's sprint speed, couldn't do it. I switched a generic player to Alfred Collins but you can't edit their skin color. That kinda sucks.
- I have thrown A LOT of INTS in gameplay. Granted, I am a throw-happy team but still. LIke I said earlier, playing with the sliders helps.
- No other real gameplay complaints.
- WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE READ OPTION!?!?!??!?! Ok, sorry.

Ok how do you get the QB to keep on the RPO? I cannot seem to make it work.

Also and recruiting strategies? I just started my UTSA dynasty. I usually have been going “send the house” or whatever on my top targets. Seems to work pretty well to land them (landed the number #1 overall player in year two after going 7-6 and was 3-4 at the time of commitment) but I don’t seem to be able to fill out a class.

My first two classes each consisted of 1 or 2 5* guys, handful of 4* and 3*. Great except I only was able to land like 18 guys total each season. I guess I need to try doing the “sway” and “hard sell” stuff.

Defense is fucking impossible. Lost game 1 of year two to aggy 73-63 (I only play a couple games a year, 7 min quarters).

I like it but man I throw a lot of INTs…

Also I can’t wrap my head around the new zone read/rpo/etc controls. I fake myself out half the time.

I’m already getting beat down by the drum line beat in the main menus. I’ll be turning that down soon.

I like that there are 2 “big game”(ESPN) and “broadcast” (abc) teams but man this really woulda been a huge opportunity to go big by adding the “fox” crew of Gus and Joel as a 3rd team. I’ll forever hold EA NCAA basketball in high regard for having the ESPN vitale crew and the CBS Kellogg crew for 2 different broadcast feels. FIFA/EA FC has down this with the overlays but they only do a league and national announcers.

Someone needs to do a “rpo for surly dummies” on here because I’m struggling.

Furreal.

I did practice for 15 minutes just on RPO.

I thought I had it down.

Turns out in game I was wrong.
