I don't feel bad for men who drive minivans.  You made your choice, own it.

For some reason I am feeling kind of salty today.  Something is in the air.

Those bad boys get 30 miles a gallon.

If I had to pick any award to win, it might be that one.

This chick in England once told me I "spoke like an astronaut," so I am thinking of creating a new family crest that says (in Latin): "Speak like astronauts, smell like knights."

What is the Latin word for astronaut?

Did you give her your phone number as "Eight, niner, niner, three, niner, four, six, over"?

I just tried to park in a garage (hospital, pre-surgery labs for Mom) & apparently 6'8" is making me rub their PVC "are you sure about that?" tester...

Thankfully, the Smart Car driver behind me recognized my dilemma & they backed out so I could do the same.

I smell fat people!

Got a haircut the other day and got whiffs of fat people the rest of the day?  I know, who smelt it delt it, but I'm 5'10" and 170#.  I can only assume that the previous person wearing the haircut apron they put around my neck, was a fattie?  Got home and took a second shower that day.

Do you suppose Marlin Perkins did porn? He kinda had that look.

So when he said "Jim was wrestling the anaconda", was that really gay porn?

You know, I do fairly well financially, but I am still thrifty and anti-waste. I cut toothpaste tubes in half to use remaining toothpaste. Cheap?  Waste of time?

Yes.

My gp doc back in the 1970s was a smoker.

That brings back a memory from my childhood. My older sister's yearbook like many others had sponsors and stuff congratulating the graduates etc. One doctor had a picture of him sitting behind his desk with a lit cigarette and an ashtray on the desk. Man have things changed.

Watched about 45 minutes of avatar for the first time recently, couldn't finish it.  Holy shit, what an awful movie, and I liked some of his other movies.

My random thought is about the main dude in the wheelchair.  He has the same DNA as his dead, identical twin.  The most important space mission in human history completely relies on him using his DNA to operate the local avatar body and this company has spared no expense to excavate this planet.  Presumably, neither the space ship nor the operating bases on this other planet are ADA compliant...doesn't make much sense since other than Stephen Hawking, we've never sent a person in a wheelchair into outer space...let alone another solar system-no point in building out ramps everywhere.

So he holds all the cards.  They need his DNA, he has to go up there in person, and he has to be in his wheelchair on ships/bases that aren't designed to accommodate him so that will cause infinite problems in terms of logistics, delays, safety, etc.  So instead of telling the corporation, "In the interest of simplicity and effectiveness...I'll go.  Just fix my legs first so I can complete the mission."  But nope, the only person he accepts "leg help" from is a psychopathic, genocidal maniac who seems about as trustworthy as Heinrich Himmler.  Horrible fucking movie.

That genocidal maniac also played Ike in Tombstone.

What did you think of it when it was called Dances With Wolves?

Seeing it in 3D in the theater was pretty cool. Especially since they used the 3D to create an atmosphere, not to have things constantly flying in your face. “Unobtanium” was maybe the worst creative decision of all time.

Shout out to the episode of WKRP where the gang tracked Herb down in a 3D porn theater after he fled the hospital because of a heart condition and everyone wearing 3D glasses all would occasionally lurch simultaneously to one side. That was hilarious. And then when the cops raided the place, while most of the patrons fled, Dr. Johnny Fever dug both hands into his pockets and threw threw the contents into the seats across the aisle. That was comedy gold.

Also, Bo Derek was in her late 30's when she filmed "Tommy Boy" (eight years older than Farley and Lowe)?  Da fuh?  I mean, she looked smoking hot, like a 25 year old.  But she had already been around so long when that movie came out, I just assumed she was 50 in it (again with the body of someone half her age).  Didn't realize she filmed it at 38, it came out when she was 39.  She had just been a household name for so long, I dunno.

Yes.

According to my wife you should never pay for toothpaste, toothbrushes or shampoo.  She got into couponing a few years back and not in the build a huge stockpile way.  She's more into how much stuff they will pay her to take out of the store.  She left last evening to go pick up a RX and came back with 2 tubes of toothpaste and some makeup.  The items were on sale, she had an online coupon for the same amount at the sale price and got $5 back as "store bucks" to use  on her next trip.  So the items were free and she has a $5 store credit.  She does this kind of stuff every week or so.  Gives a ton of it to family and friends and donates the rest

That’s amazing.  I remember thinking I guess old people think other old people are attractive.  Felt like she was whatever geriatrics thought was good for their mid fifties, but did nothing for me.

If a Wilford Brimley cat fact gets dropped here I burning this motherfucker down.

At the time Cocoon was filmed, Wilford Brimley's exact age was equivalent to three "super senior" cats plus one "adult" cat's age.

Okay, that's just fucked up.  I mean, I get hollywood makeup.  But 42?  What the fuck?  I guess he died at only 71, so maths check out.  Fucking-A. 3 years younger than I am now?

That means he was like mid-30's when he made Dr. Strangelove?  That don't make no sense!

You forget sometimes with all the discussion of how Hollywood/TV usually used people much older than the roles they needed to play for a number of reasons.  And yes, they age people with makeup and lighting.  But fucking-A, a hardened, hardened 60-year old Patton being played by a 42 year old Scott.  I just had him pegged in my head as 15 years older plus the makeup.  They barely used Scott as the inter-war Patton.  I guess they knew what they were doing, apparently Scott won some accolades for the role.

Wow.  Mind blown.

& yet, you can't read.

My mind was blown, don't you get it?  How can I possibly remember?  I've reassembled what's left of it and done some rep.  Thank you for your concern.

Peace be with you.
