How much alcohol will that be paired with this evening?

more than my usual zero

i mean we had a consulting group inspire me to ask our CTO (another longhorn, great guy btw) "please tell me we didn't pay these guys very much" and I had the distinct pleasure of reading my CEO tell some asshole vendor that he sucked at his job

yesterday, Doctor appointment, please buy a blood pressure monitor and send me the results, go see orthopedist about your hand

Monday and Tuesday this week, audit; meeting starts a 6AM sharp my time and lasts all day

anyway good week

Also worth adding the neat thing was that there was exactly one of each, no more, no less. Absolutely have had days with more than 4 meetings, including all 4 services. Just never EXACTLY one of each.

EarPods can get fucked.  I’m going back to the old school headphones

Agreed. I have two that I like. EarPods always fall out of my ears.

My go-to for traveling are the in-ear Bose corded noise-cancelling.  These are perfect for long flights. I recently thought about buying the Bose EarPods, but two problems:  first, they would fall out and get lost in an airplane seat; second, the battery life is only 4 hours. Forget that nonsense.

The other that I like are shokz bone-conducting headphones. They let you hear other things in the environment. Great for the gym or while running outside. And they don’t fall out.

They either fall out or I flat lose them.  I've got some Bose, great noise cancelling for now.

Not quite ready to get rid of my Airpods until a better, non noise cancelling option comes out. I still like to hear what's going around me when I have my earbuds in. I see plenty of people with death wishes walking / biking with noise cancelling earphones on.

Question I have is how do people jog without their airpods falling out?

Use shokz. They’re awesome and you hear everything around you. I love the ones that strap around your head, but they make over ear things too.

While eating a third-rate hamburger in an airport bar at ORD this evening, Billy Squier’s “The Stroke” played.

Do you think he intentionally wrote/bought/recorded that song as a retirement plan? Knowing that it would be a staple of topless dancers until the end of time?

When’s the last time you were at a strip joint?

Since when did Undertaker become so closely affiliated with UT/ UT sports?

And why never anything with Owen Wilson... is he not interested his alma mater as much as McConaughey is?

Feel like the Undertaker has always been around.

Not sure about Wilson, but I know he was pretty jaded about not being accepted into the RTF program

Not sure which thread in the football forum this belongs in so I’ll post it here. I just heard an interesting stat on local sports radio (WBNS 97.1 FM “The Fan”). This past weekend, the state of Florida’s FCS, FBS, and NFL football teams went a combined 0-11. The Miami Dolphins have a chance to break the streak tonight on Monday Night Football where they’re 2.5 point underdogs to the L.A. Rams.

That depends - are you George Michael or Richard Gere?

I get irrationally annoyed whenever this rumor is spread. I owe Gere nothing and I have no chance of changing the world here; it just bugs me for no particular reason.

No, wait, but what you don't understand is my neighbor's sister's brother-in-law's cousin's boss was dating a nurse on duty when he came to the hospital. It's so true.

I don't live in San Francisco anymore.

So far I've hit Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, In N Out. The day is still young...

I've membership status at Total Wine has been upgraded. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

They've taken a lot of my money the past couple of year as I've bought too much whisky. At this point, I have 20+ bottles, and would take some hard work to power through those if I drank by myself.

On a mini-tangent, I've started an unofficial happy hour at the office. I hold my staff meeting every other on Friday at 3PM. It runs 'til about 4PM at which point the ice bucket gets filled and  the whiskys and whiskeys starts to flow. It started with just 3-4 people, and now it's about 12 with the VPs joining as well. It's a good time to just kick back for an hour or so to unwind from the week.

Easy Don Draper.  This isn't 1955 Manhattan.  HR will be putting a stop to that pretty soon.  The Seattle guys will probably rat you out.

I saw that too.  MNF upset kept the state of Florida from 0-12.

Rami Malek is such a bug eyed looking creep and Timothy Chalamet looks like a Calvin Klein models from the early 2000s when they favored androgynous twinks, why do both of them get so many Hollywood roles

HR is in on the action as well.

I’m a mere cog in this big machine. If the senior VPs, and occasionally the division president joins us for drinks, who am I to deny them a pour or two.

Chandeliers are stupid and 99.8 are horrifically ugly

why are the bulb holders a minicry of wax candles and why do they all have a thousand tacky plastic teardrop ‘crystals’ and why is the ornamentation of the arm the cheapest faux old world style

Out of potentially millions?  That's quite picky.

Trying to use up the rest of my lime scooter pass I bought while traveling.

Rode around Austin and did some photography last weekend. Headed to San Antonio for work figured I’d buzz around and take some architecture pics.

San Antonio has no lime scooters

Why?

Because the dumb fuck city made a year long battle for them to get a permit, limiting the amount and banning them at night and all this stupid shit. No CR but damn what kind of absolute retards run of the silly scooter people?

I assume that there's a much greater probability of scooters ending up under water in San Antonio than in other areas where a river isn't as central to the entertainment district.
