What did you guys think? Caught it a couple of nights ago and enjoyed it.
Bob O. killed it as Shelly Levine and Bill Burr’s Dave Moss was funny and very appropriately cast. Michael McKean was awesome too. The definite bright spots for me.
I thought Kieran Collin was just okay. Started off slow and finished strong however, but I guess as the most decorated guy (Oscar) he got the biggest response from the audience. He was at his best when he was able to refrain from his signature snark and sarcasm and was at his worse when it felt like Roman Roy acting as Richard Roma.

God I agree with almost all of this. My wife went with me and knew nothing about the storyline so naturally she was lost for most of Act 1, I had to explain things over the intermission and she enjoyed Act 2 much more.

Those actors are really exposed on stage and I have immense respect, no being saved by anything other than interesting dialogue. Caulkin was good but yeah, lots of Roman Roy vibes. Bob O and Burr really separated in this environment.

I would see it again, I bet it’s somewhat different every night.

The night we went the cast then came back out after the bows and did an auction for an AIDs charity and so we got to hear some ad libbed back-and-forth between Burr and Kieran, etc. I think someone ended up with a signed playbill for $2,000.

Broadway CARES.

A woman in front of us paid $21,000 one night for the typewriter gibberish between Radcliffe and Groff in Merrily We Roll Along last fall.
