I'm not Herbie but I definitely agree. Never understood the hype.

The old releases were delicious, come on.

It’s overrated as all get out. Is it swill? Absolutely not. Is it worth more than $50? Absolutely not.

I refuse to pay more than MSRP for any whiskey, and there's almost no reason to pay more than $50 for anything.

For the most part I would agree, but I paid $58 each for Rebecca Creek Spanish oak and felt it was a steal at that price. I’m about to the point where I’m going to pay secondary to get my mitts on some OWA if it doesn’t show up soon in my hood.

It’s not that much over retail.
$100 vs $60
Almost a no brainer to not have to fuck hunting it down.

I’m trying to remember the last High West product I really liked. I felt like shit asking a friend to  mule me a Prisoner back from Utah. We cracked it when he got back and it was disappointing. It did open up towards the end, landing somewhere near fine for me. Not worth the money. Interesting bottle if it was under $80.

Their cask strength bourbon is good-ish, but too much money.

Bourye was terrific when they still sold it in Texas.

Guy a row ahead of me flying with a teenage boy, presumably his son or perhaps towel boy:

“Only drink single malt Scotch or single barrel bourbon. That’s the good stuff.”

I am so thankful these people exist and that the liquor industry produces products to separate them from their money, so that bottlers and distillers can afford to produce an abundance of excellent and widely available products for the rest of us.

This might be better than I remember it being. Things could get interesting in a blind with Old Fitz 8. As always, I wish I bought 2.

I've still never seen this on a store shelf, but I've looked for it when I'm out there.  I do love the Distiller's Collection version of it that Spec's usually has.

You look like a Bourbon Junkies fan.  How's their Evernorth products?

It’s great! Great bang for your buck (most bottles are anywhere from $60-80) and they’re really starting to put out some interesting stuff. They’re doing a lot of blending with 6-8 year juice from MGP and Sagamore.

I’ve been a Patron of theirs for several years so I get access to their releases.
