What a wonderful example of fatherhood.  I wish him all the peace and rest that is possible in our universe.

100% certified bad ass. People like him are much more deserving of hero status than someone that can dunk a basketball or catch a TD. Reading of his passing causes me to reflect more on the moment than the multitudes of celebrities that the media wont shut up about,  like a Kobe Bryant. And I respected Kobe more than most athletes.

They always kept him and the kid in the church near the starting line until right before the wheelchair start.

When they came out, the corrals up front would half-empty from runners just trying to get a look at them.

I almost started the thread but didn’t know how many would know the name. As the son of a 2 month old I finally get the love and what he went through to give his son a normal life. The crazy thing is he was never really a runner before their first run and still cranked out crazy impressive times.

The world would be a better place with more Dick Hoyt’s.
