I don't want to spoil anything, but good recovery from the "embarrassing incident" story at Whataburger to breakfast cereal and sugar babies.  His sugar baby story was the funniest part of the 'cast.  Well, that and "3rd and 17."

Fun podcast guys, thanks.

Speaking of shots:

I thought it was interesting when the piss-chart conversation got going and someone mentioned "championship piss without the championships." Shark's negative response to that definitely shows the disconnect between fans and players, and how players might take criticism of the coach's regime differently than fans think they will--even if the player just got done bagging on the coach. These are still proud guys that love their team and the program.

On that note, you guys may want to temper the whole message-board-Herman-hate-and-inside-jokes bit when you get a real player on to talk about Herman. Caused some dead air when Shark didn't have knowledge/want to play along. And leading off with the burnt toast stuff was fun but it kind of limited/circumscribed what could have been an illuminating conversation. There was some really interesting nuance to the Herman stuff that Shark brushed up against but didnt get a chance to flesh out: Herman was an asshole but also the smartest football guy in every room; Herman was intellectual but also socially awkward; Herman was aloof with his players but introduced Shark to his real estate agent and talked investments with him.

So i'd say just let the player talk and open up a bit about his take, and then mix in the hard-hitting questions about burnt toast, piss charts, and sociopathy for some extra emphasis. May get a better framing of the whole conversation, and a different take from the player with inside knowledge than the one we all have on the outside looking in.

But great to hear from a player like this and really appreciate you guys doing the podcast. Great work.

Great interview guys. Shark seems like a classy individual with a good head on his shoulders. Hoping he can make a career out of football, but if he doesn't, he definitely has another path forward. He's a model for any recruit looking to get an education and have a chance at success at the next level football-wise.

Looking forward to the next former player y'all can get on.

I enjoyed the interview.  My only criticism would be that on a number of occasions Shark was interrupted while telling a story by a question from immamac.

If the interviewee is opening up and telling tales - let him.  Save the questions for when the conversation ebbs.

This. There was a couple of times you probably could have got more out of him especially as the conversation went on.

What’s funny is my username is basically my name for everything. It’s my initials. I’ve been called rgb3 since kindergarten

Well as long as you're not cheating on your wife with a porn star from pflugerville and bragging about it here then you should be ok.

Thank god y’all mentioned the captain razor blade crunch slicing the fuck out of everything. How are they still in business

You have to put your milk on the Cap’n Crunch and then take care of an errand or something and THEN come back to the Cap’n Crunch.

Cereal was out at Castilian my freshman year for every meal. At dinner, people would get up halfway through their meal and go get a bowl of Cap’n Crunch, cover it with milk, and bring it back to the table.

Then as you continue to put away your dinner, you would occasionally use your spoon to submerge cereal that had mainly stayed on top.

Finally, when you finished your meal, the cereal was perfect.

Because it is absolutely delicious. Worth the pain

I don’t dig on pain, but well-soaked Cap’n Crunch is the best mother fucking cereal on the planet!

Thought it was a great first effort at interviewing someone from within the program, and y’all have a lot of good takeaways for next time. Definitely gotta avoid things like “championship level piss without the championships.” I thought the interview was over after that. Solid save. I’d also recommend feeling out their relationship with TH before dogging on him too much. Maybe there’s more in the parts you had to edit out, but it seems like Shark has at least some respect for the guy based on his help with business connections. Also, the comment/laugh about Sam always being serious... What was that about?

Overall it was highly entertaining.

I got the idea he would have liked to say more about being a black athlete at UT after getting into the Whataburger incident.   Maybe you guys wanted to not CR up the place?  NTTAWWT, but I got the idea from the awkward pause after Immamac tried to switch to recruiting, that Shark might have wanted to expound more.  Maybe not.  RGBIII made a good save to wrap it up though.

Otherwise it was a fantastic interview.   Such a different view of the world than we get as fans.  He really opened up and didn't bombard with cliches.   The part about his mom wearing the hat was awesome.

I've finally caught up.  Went back to listen to all the podcasts from the beginning.   Interesting to see the change in attitude towards Herman over that time period.   The sound quality has really improved as well.  Headed to Houston next week to get some Pinkerton's ribs.

I cut nearly 34 minutes. Can you tell me where?
