CJ Hinojosa with another strong performance at the plate tonight in Round Rock. 2-for-5 with 2 doubles, an RBI, and a run scored.

A Machete hit wouldn't have mattered.  Garcia was up next.  Sure out.

Next game...

If Dusty actually sent him to the plate in that situation -- as potential winning run with two outs -- he should have been banned from baseball for throwing games.

I went to the Skeeters/Express game last night at Dell and the Skeeters jumped all over the newly-promoted hard-throwing Yerry Rodriguez. That kid was throwing hard early (mid 90's fb and low 80s changeup) and worked a scoreless first inning but the Skeeters took him to pound town after that. Norel Gonzalez and Miguelangel Sierra had no-doubt HRs off of him and even Garrett Stubbs barely missed one to left center that caromed off the top of the fence. (Stubbs is so small and has bird legs, how the hell is he a catcher??) Hinjosa looked like he deserves to get tested at the next level as a utility IF...The main takeaway on the pitching side was Baez and Josh James. Both pitched one inning  in relief and neither allowed a run, with James giving up a double and a wild pitch before getting two strikeouts and a fly out to end the game. Baez gave up a walk in the 5h but then got a gidp and a fly out to end the inning. Baez wasn't throwing over 90 however so I'm very interested to see what the organization does with him in the next couple of weeks. He either has to be activated to the 26-man roster or DFA'd (assuming he doesn't suffer a convenient injury setback that allows them to put him back on the IL....) I'm surprised to think this, but I feel like Josh James might have a better shot at the active roster than Baez.

Hinojosa isn’t on the 40 man. Wilson has been crushing AAA this year. .288/.395/..630. Not a fluke either. Had similar numbers in 2019

See, your problem is that you are bringing facts to a pity party.

Yeah I completely forgot about Wilson because he was just claimed off waivers a few days ago and iirc hasn't played yet for the Skeeters. His spot on the 40-man guaranteed that he'd get another cup of coffee before CJ.

Sounds about right.
