So, I bitch at Dusty a lot but he managed this one perfectly down the stretch. Has nothing to do with win or loss or results. pR at the right time. PH at the right time. Used his relievers in the correct sequence.

At least one person disagrees…

He's pissed because he has incentives in his contract and he probably feels like the organization is intentionally depriving him of the opportunity to hit those numbers.

"I think it's pretty frickin obvious. I mean, go take a look at it."

I'm not defending what he said or the wisdom of saying all that publicly before airing out his grievances with Dusty, Strom, and Click, but he has a point when he said "I'm glad we won because I would've been blamed for only going five innings."

He's pissed at the organization--which is obviously not ideal--but in his frustration he's taking a shot at the fans as well. This is a very bad development.

It’s ludicrous to even imply that Odorizzi’s usage is tied to contract incentives. They are in a pennant race and are going to do what is best to achieve that immediate goal.

I'm not implying that is the reason Dusty yanks him, I'm implying that's why he is mad about getting yanked.

I want guys that don’t suck. I hated the OFO signing as pointless from the word go. Take the 20 you are going to give whatever shortstop you Shon on the market and add Odo’s 20 to it and you can bring back Correa. I’m beginning to low key hate click.

Lots wrong here. Odorizzi was signed when it was thought that Framber would be out for, at least, the majority of the season. It wasn’t pointless at the time. Secondly, it is stupid to say that not signing Odorizzi to 3/$23M would free up the $300M needed to sign Correa.

Agreed but his comments suggest he distrusts the organization, which is not good right now. He should've kept his mouth shut and addressed it privately.

We had 5 guys without framber.
Every $10 million a year helps.

So before the season you were expecting Luis Garcia to be a reliable starter in the rotation?

And he’s counting Javier as a starter.

And Bielack. And possibilitt

of Framber coming back. And Martes. And a bunch of other arms we could throw at the problem to find a credible 5th starter.
And making a trade at the deadline if none of that worked.

When you have 4 arms you trust and a bunch of guys knocking on the door you don’t have to have all 5 starters wired on opening day. We could have had $10 million in additional capital to use at the trade deadline or make a better offer to correa.
I didn’t know Garcia would be great. But I knew we had enough options we didn’t need to do that.

Every player in baseball distrusts the organization.

Big whoop.

It's a whoop when they cry to the media, especially when that media is already predisposed to the narrative that the Astros organization is big evil meanies.
