For those unfamiliar with the pitcher hitting eighth argument:

Thing is, it will only be Greinke once (I hope it's at least once, let's put it that way).  So then it's a question of PH versus Machete for the rest of the game.

I hope he bats three times. In two innings.

This is fucking bullshit. They can't keep doing this.

BP doesn’t matter according to Helo

BP is hated by almost all MLB players as a huge waste of time. That’s not where they get real work in, they do it in the batting cages hitting off tees & high speed pitching machines. Not the pitching coach just lobbing balls at them.

Don’t they have batting cages inside the stadium usually? I’ve seen some during the home run derby then they come up from the dugout.

The cage is where all the work is done but batting practice familiarizes hitters with the batters eye and how the park plays. It's not just about bp but on field workouts. Were they able to get any practice in today?

All these lesser franchises without a roof on their stadium.....it's goddamn annoying to have late October games affected by weather concerns.

Wait a minute -- if Castro's out with Covid, are we about to have the whole fucking team out??

Nevemind.  Apparently Soler missed a game in an earlier round the same way and it didn't affect any of the other Braves' statuses.

And can somebody explain to me how MLB can force us to have the roof open, but Atlanta is allowed to not even provide a god damned batting cage?

I hope some of our hotter-headed guys who've been hitting like shit are getting a little pissed off right now...

I bet he hasn't even tested positive, he probably was a close contact or some such shit or he had allergy symptoms or something and they haven't yet ruled out covid. He's not out for the Series....yet.

Sounds like a great COVID program.

I'll say 10-4 Astros tonight.

I like your optimism regarding Grienke's ability to limit their runs. Wish I shared it.
