They travel in a caravan because it's a hell of a lot safer than migrating with just your family over a couple thousand miles. The number of people crossing between the time this was newsworthy and the time they reach the border will be greater than that of the caravan as well.

It's called democratic socialism.

I don’t think that a political philosophy or a political party drives the culture. I think that it is exactly the opposite. And that general view is applicable worldwide.

So now the water has piss AND shit in it?

Gross. I'd rather live in Flint.

Why confiscate rosarys? That seems chicken shit to me.

Detain them and kick them back to their country, I get that because it's illegal to do what they are doing, but to take their rosary's and let them continue their General Sherman march seems extremely stupid.

It is not illegal to do what they are doing.  Stop spreading lies.

Okay, I'll admit I'm not sure if it's illegal for Hondurans to cross the border to other central American countries and Mexico and technically, you are right, they have not illegally crossed into America yet. I guess I should have said their attempts at illegal immigration which is in WIP status.

Hey Siri. What’s the difference between an emigrant and a refugee?

"Playing Led Zeppelin" is what she said when I asked her that. Did you do that on purpose? Cool joke!

Of course you are, and we both know it.  You're not good enough at trolling to get away with injecting subtle lies into your posts without getting called out.

Wonder if Bolton will try to sell Trump on a "Vietnam" solution to the Honduras problem where we invade and terrorize/genocide the populace in the interest of breaking all resistance to our client government.  Maybe it could work this time around.

You give me way too much credit.

By the way, is your username a troll one where you are saying you aren't really a Longhorn fan? You are 1/1024th a Longhorn fan in your DNA a la Elizabeth Warren? You sir, are the troll and consider this being a called out as a liar yourself because every accusation is a confessional indictment of intention and character!

All kidding aside, I'm assuming you are referencing asylum seeking and passing the interviews of credible fear or whatever, but that's you being disingenuous (I won't call you a liar) because historically speaking, there is data referencing that a percentage will enter a place illegally due to impatience with the legal process or being denied or whatever.

Rosaries confiscated from migrants crossing the desert into the U.S.

I see Rosaries. I see no evidence that they were taken from migrants crossing the border. That photo could be from a Rosary vendor for all I know. Can you give us more to go on?

Going to need to see the chain of custody on those rosaries.  Latin migrants with rosaries?  Doesn't sound very plausible to me.

You're kidding, right? Lots of Catholics in Mexico and Central America.

will all disappear? to be fair, his post doesn't really imply all or none, it's ambiguous on total but if i had to guess, the poster leans more towards "all". and yes, if the MAJORITY do show up, that would prove his statement is bullshit. and your post is slightly disingenuous because i never said anything about being fine with that percentage. I was only answering the other poster's wonderment and inaccurate assumption.

And being completely insulting in the process.

Insulting to racist bullshit? Yeah, I’m cool with that. It’s called being an American. Welcome to our country!

"When you look at the [PRRI] report, [marriage and abortion] are a very low priority for Republicans and for white evangelicals. The real key to understanding white evangelicals is through their anti-immigrant attitudes and fear of demographic change," Wong explained. "They are the group that is most conservative on the travel ban. They are also the most conservative of family separation, which to many people is a moral issue."

"They are also the only religious group to contend that immigrants threaten American values," she added. "It is really this potent mix of nativism and racial anxiety and white Christian nationalism that underlines many of the other policy attitudes that you see presented in this report."

The Trump administration said it would prohibit people who illegally cross the U.S. border with Mexico from claiming asylum, as the president seeks to choke off migration from Latin America.

The change to asylum procedures was published Thursday by the Justice Department. President Donald Trump has blamed U.S. asylum rules for luring thousands of migrants a year from Central American countries. The new rule is almost certain to be challenged in courts.

“Our asylum system is overwhelmed with too many meritless asylum claims from aliens who place a tremendous burden on our resources, preventing us from being able to expeditiously grant asylum to those who truly deserve it,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker said in a joint statement.

The new restrictions on asylum claims won’t take effect until Trump issues a proclamation limiting or suspending entry into the U.S. from Mexico, according to the rule. Trump plans to issue the proclamation on Friday, an administration official who asked not to be identified told reporters in a briefing.

Plenty of policies discussed here to address border situation besides just a wall. I thought this was interesting. Specifically I like the idea of designating the two largest cartels as foreign terror orgs.

Darby is one of the reporters that spends all his energy on the border/cartels, not just when there’s a “crisis”.

lol Scott Adams.  You might as well post something from Alex Jones.

Appreciate your valuable input.

I didnt realize he was a loony conspiracy theorist.

What about the journalist he’s interviewing?

I realize it’s too long of a substantive conversation to post here.  About 40 minutes. Just thought I’d share.

The Dilbert guy isn’t a conspiracy theorist like Alex Jones.  He’s more like a sophisticated Diamond & Silk grifting for profit on the Trumpkins.

Wrong. He is a satirical genius who skewers both the tediousness of office life while at the same time owning the libs by recognizing that he and Trump are brain geniuses who have used pick up artist techniques to hypnotize the American public. Also he named all his characters something-bert like dogbert and catbert because he is a creative genius.

Created by Congress in 1990, the Special Immigrant Juvenile program has sought to provide minors facing danger in their birth countries with a path to legal permanent residency and citizenship.

Until early last year, all qualifying immigrants under the age of 21 could apply through their state courts for what is known as SIJ status.

That was until U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services changed its definition of what qualifies as a juvenile court, effectively eliminating relief in the Empire State for immigrants between the ages of 18 and 21.

Pure evil in this administration.

Fuck trump and the shit for brains that support him

Quoting myself but the gf just said the decision came back today, trump lost. SIJ is again an option for 18-21 in at least 4 states, but no articles/links yet. But they got SJ, so it’s done, should help the case in CA that has a prelim injunction at the moment. My last post for the night cause at a bar...
