The big deal is being lost in the hype. What should be getting the attention is the development of a reusable rocket, specifically the engineering required to land it. Skip to about 9:30 in the video:

It's very cool, but unfortunately much of their landing technique doesn't scale up. The New Shepard comes to a full stop in the air, stabilizes, and slowly touches down because the small engine (BE3) can deep throttle down to something like 20% power.  Bigger rocket engines have a harder time doing that, with Blue Origin's next-gen BE4 engine no exception.  If SpaceX could land the Falcon 9 like that, I'm sure they would. Instead they had to learn how to do a suicide burn at the end to get delta-v to zero right at zero altitude.

Y’all can ride Bezos’ rocket; if I’m in Van Horn, I’m eating a green chile cheeseburger.

With extra chiles., onion, and a fried egg. THEN you jump in Bezos’ USS Kosher Schlong a few hours later and let nature take its course.

Lmao blue origin is announcing a new commercial space station being built and developed in partnership with boeing.

I wouldn't trust starliner to make any resupply or recrew mission on time at this point...

American comedian and actor Pete Davidson, who has made headlines recently for his new relationship with Kim Kardashian, is going to space as part of a six-member team on Blue Origin's next flight next week, the company said Monday.

The Saturday Night Live star will be the only non-paying guest on the voyage aboard the New Shepard rocket, which is set to blast off from the company's Launch Site One in West Texas on March 23 at 8:30 am local time (1330 GMT).

Quote

It will be the fourth human flight for the company, which launched its billionaire founder and owner Jeff Bezos to space on its first crewed mission last summer.

Davidson, 28, has been in the news lately for dating reality-star-turned-entrepreneur Kardashian, whose contentious divorce from rapper Kanye West was finalized earlier this month.

Quote

The other crewmates are CEO and investor Marty Allen; husband and wife Sharon and Marc Hagle, who run a nonprofit and business, respectively; teacher and explorer Jim Kitchen, and George Nield, who founded a company that promotes commercial space activity.

The ticket prices remain a secret, as they have since the first flight.

Bezos' Blue phallic craft about to launch an all-female "crew" on a tourist sub-orbital flight, including Gayle King (Oprahs honey), Katy Perry and Bezos's fiancee Tits McGee

I know nothing about Bezos' relationship with his girlfriend, but blowing up a rocket to walk away from crazy might do it.....so these other chicks, I might sit this flight out.

Not sure what they charge for this - but IMO it is overpriced for a 10 minute sub-orbital experience; without watching it again I'm guessing maybe 3 minutes weightlessness. If I'm paying to be launched into space I want to do a couple of laps around the Big Blue Marble we live on.

you can rent a refurbished 747 to experience the same thing you experience in that trip- free fall. Same thing you feel for a few seconds on the Guardians of the Galaxy ride at Disney World.

But you don't go into "space" in the 747. Space being defined as 62 miles in altitude I believe, a fairly arbitrary height, although I'm sure there is some official reason why "space" begins at that height.

Blue origin flights are just a fancy IG flex that you overpay, or get to ride because of being famous or who you know. Your celebrity is the cost of your ticket. Odds are that eventually there will be an accident and possible fatalities. Then everyone will start talking how they knew there was a problem. Think of the recent Titanic sub disaster even though I don't have any reason to believe Blue Origin is as reckless as that sub company.

Your crew in quotation is spot on. These are expensive carnival joy rides. Maybe there is some kind of scientific advancement with these but I’m thinking Bezos has gone from selling crap we don’t need to launching “space” flights we don’t need either.

You haven't lived till you've been on a cheaply sourced Chinese spaceflight delivered to you overnight by an Amazon Prime delivery driver working a 20 hour shift.

Was there seriously no other way to design this thing? It absolutely had to look like a penis? Because that's literally all I can think about when the story comes up with photos.

Also, regarding the penis shape:

The capsule that contains the "crew" has to be big enough for the "crew" to experience "weightlessness". Which means they need some room to float around in for a couple of minutes. If they just stayed strapped in their chairs, then the capsule could be smaller, with a diameter the same as the rocket booster. But then famous people couldn't do famous shit that the rest of us don't get to do, and what's the use of being a billionaire then?

Bonus: a billionaire gets to troll everybody by launching a giant penis.

In other words, its all bullshit.

Here is a sight where they can book space flights for you - including a circumlunar mission, 10 days in space including orbiting the moon (how much is the lottery?)

The whole thing was a pretty gross spectacle.   I watched the (recorded) launch and the return and was a little surprised at the extent to how this made me feel.

Self-indulgent, performative crap.  Ugh.  Just fuck off you bunch of shitheads.

Wonder how long until a DOGE-led FAA/NASA try to shut down Blue Origin.  Wish I was kidding.

Just caught up on the all female "space" flight story.  The left blinker was left on for the entire 8 minutes, and somehow there was extreme curb rash left on the rocket's right side.  It also landed with the fuel gauge on empty, to which Besos' girlfriend threw him the keys and asked him to go fill it up so they could go again later.

Blue Origin is no threat to NASA or Space X unless Musk decides he wants to get into the Six Flags of "space" exploration.  Bezos sits in a sweet spot because he has capitalized on the unquenchable thirst of American consumerism which drives the economy. He keeps his head down politically enough to avoid the ire of the left and the right. His repeated launching of a penis is a sideshow and I give him props for strategically tapping into superficial dopamine release Americans desire in order to make himself one of the richest individuals in modern history. Good for society? No. Good for Bezos and the reshaping of delivery of goods and services? Sure.
