One of the most fun interviews I ever did was with Juan Pablo when he was a rookie racing for Chip. He was talking about how hard it was for him to be living in Indianapolis while still being underage to get into any clubs. He was really cool.

Yep, that's super easy to do, though. They don't really pit off turn 4 until carb day, and they have to slow soooo much to hit pit speed that it's super easy to lock it up and spin.

After 15 years of the same names winning everything IndyCar is desperate to market the young guys as the next generation of the series.

Yeah, a bit of both is correct. But it doesn’t have to be mentioned every lap.

NBC has to try to get their entire annual investment in the series rights squeezed out of this one race. It's the only one that gets decent viewership.

Of course the other races have just as many breaks, but they're all ads for other NBC shows, not outside money.
