Texas Recruiting Notes 2022 - Idiotic Slapfights Unrelated To 2022 Recruiting

Drayton even retweeted that tweet without him mentioned lol

And you'll thought he doesn't recruit! 😂

If you read the text exchanges between Drayton and Carrington regarding offering Bijan, you will get a sense of his involvement in the recruiting process. He just says "offer", instead of asking for Bijan's number and call him directly. A good recruiter would pick up the phone himself.

This board can talk itself into anything. That’s quite the grasp you have

(Gerry Hamilton) IT Recruiting Matters: Texas re-offers, new offers

Spoiler

The Texas staff under Steve Sarkisian has hit the ground sprinting on the recruiting front.

With so many moving parts, IT provides an update on the 2022 class with many re-offers and new offers out since the staff began going to work in Austin.

Quarterback:
Quinn Ewers, Southlake Carroll
The Ohio State verbal hasn’t made a big deal on twitter, but he is well aware that Texas wants him to come back home. Sarkisian has been in contact. A.J. Milwee has been in contact with SLC HC Riley Dodge multiple times.

Cade Klubnik, Austin Westlake
Texas re-offered Klubnik Jan. 21, and the Longhorns are in the thick of a recruitment that likely won’t go past April.

Maalik Murphy, Junipero Serra (CA)
Texas re-offered the 6-foot-5, 225-pounder on Saturday. UCLA, Oregon and Michigan are the main competition, currently.

Running back:
Jamarion Miller, Tyler Legacy
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian re-offered on Saturday. The Texas lean has been picking up offers of late, including Florida and Iowa State this weekend.

Jaydon Blue, Klein Cain
Texas RB coach Stan Drayton has the longest standing relationship with the 5-foot-10, 200-pound playmaker with excellent hands. Texas HC Stave Sarkisian is also getting involved in this recruitment.

Le’veon Moss, Istrouma (Baton Rouge, LA)
Texas running backs coach Stan Drayton offered the explosive Pelican State back on Friday. The competition is LSU and Alabama for a RB out of Baton Rouge … woof. But a source very close to Moss says he wants to get away from home for college, so Texas could get in the mix to battle Alabama and others.

TreVonte’ Citizen , Lake Charles Prep (LA)
Texas RB’s coach Stan Drayton offered the 5-foot-11, 200-pounder Friday.

“He (Drayton) talked about their school and academic system. He talked about the program they have to get me on a path to earn my degree in 3 1/2 years. He also gave me some info about himself, and how he can help me improve my game.” Said Citizen Saturday.

Raleek Brown, Mater Dei (CA)
Texas re-offered the 5-foot-8, 185-pound sudden playmaker January 24. The competition in this recruitment is Oklahoma, Arizona State, California and Michigan, among others.

Zach Evans, Rockwall-Heath
If Texas signs a two back class in 2022, keep an eye on the 5-foot-10, 190-pounder. Stan Drayton is a fan of this kid.

Wide receiver:
Evan Stewart, Frisco Liberty
When Sark was hired, the 6-foot-0, 175-pound special athlete became a top target. The Longhorns are in a solid position, battling Alabama and Oregon. Stewart’s family tree has a lot of Memphis and the state of Tennessee in it.

Brenen Thompson, Spearman
The 10.2 sprinter was an Oklahoma lean for a long time. There is a person very close to Thompson that likes the idea of Texas.

Kevin Coleman, St. Mary’s (Saint Louis, MO)
Another speedy playmaker that is a top target of the new staff. He’s also a top target for Alabama, and about everyone else in the country.

Chris Marshall, Fort Bend Marshall
Texas HC Steve Sarkisian is a fan of the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder per someone close to Marshall’s recruitment. Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma and others all feel the same way.

Armani Winfield, Lewisville
Winfield became the first commitment for Steve Sarkisian on January 12.

Tight end:
Holden Staes, Westminster School (Atlanta, GA)
Texas TE’s coach Jeff Banks offered the Penn State verbal January 25. Banks was recruiting the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder while at Alabama.

Jaleel Skinner, Greer (SC)
It will be a tough ask to pull the uber athletic TE prospect out of the Palmetto State with Clemson and South Carolina in hot pursuit. Florida is trying very hard, and Texas entered the mix with Jeff Banks offering January 26.

Offensive line:
OT Gunner Givens, Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA)
Texas OL coach Kyle Flood offered the 6-foot-6, 280-pound physical specimen January 18. The competition ahead of the Longhorns is Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Penn State and Virginia Tech.

OT Zach Rice, Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA)
Texas OL coach Kyle Flood offered the the 6-foot-6, 290-pounder January 18. The Longhorns are tasked with overcoming Alabama, North Carolina, Ohio State and possibly Notre Dame.

OT Tyler Booker, IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL)
Texas OL coach Kyle Flood offered the 6-foot-4, 310-pounder January 25. The Longhorns are looking up at Georgia, Florida and LSU.

OT Jacob Allen, Hun School (Princeton, NJ)
Allen has offers from nearly every national power, and Kyle Flood added the Longhorns to the offer list January 19.

OT Jacob Sexton, Deer Creek (Edmond, OK)
Texas OL coach Kyle Flood offered January 21, but the Longhorns are currently considered a long shot behind Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

OT/G Neto Umeozulu, Allen
Texas is all over the nasty run blocker with long arms and nearly ideal body quickness,

OG Devon Campbell, Arlington Bowie
Texas re-offered the athletic guard January 27. Jeff Banks and Kyle Flood were recruiting Campbell at Alabama before arriving in Austin.

OT Kelvin Banks, Summer Creek
Texas OL coach Kyle Flood has been in contact with the 6-foot-5, 300-pounder multiple times since being hired at Texas.

OG/T Kam Dewberry, Atascocita
Texas re-offered Dewberry January 27. The Longhorns are in a top ground that includes Texas A&M, Oklahoma and possibly Ohio State.

Defensive tackle:
Bear Alexander, Denton Ryan
The 6-foot-3.5, 325-pounder has Bo Davis and Jeff Banks all over him, and talked to Steve Sarkisian Thursday.
“He (Sarkisian) said they are going to strike the fear of God with this defense. They aren’t throwing out a bunch of offers, but only to the main guys. I’m a big priority for Texas.” Alexander told IT.

Jaray Bledsoe, Bremond
The 6-foot-4, 270-pounder has blown up on the recruiting scene in the past three weeks. Texas DL coach Bo Davis is all over Bledsoe, as is Texas A&M, Oklahoma and many others. Alabama, Georgia and LSU have followed with offers in the last week.

Khurtiss Perry, Park Crossing (Montgomery, AL)
Texas DL coach Bo Davis offered January 27. Alabama and Auburn will be very difficult competition for the Longhorns considering the 6-foot-2, 260-pounder is a wanted prospect by both programs.

Kaleb Artis, St, Francis Prep (Fresh Meadows, NY)
The 6-foot-5, 275-pounder was offered by Kyle Flood January 23. Florida State has also offered within the last week.

Defensive end:
Omari Abor, Duncanville
Texas assistants Jeff Banks and Bo Davis are in hot pursuit, but trail Ohio State and Oklahoma (family ties). The Longhorns will not go down without a fight here.

Ernest Cooper IV, Arlington Martin
Bo Davis and Jeff Banks are all over the 6-foot-4, 235-pounder. Stanford is the leader for a prospect that has a body type very similar to Jackson Jeffcoat.

Linebacker:
Trevell Johnson, Arlington Martin
Texas re-offered Friday. Jeff Banks and Bo Davis have already had a hand in recruiting the 6-foot, 200-pound striker with the ability to call the defense.

Kip Lewis, Carthage
Texas assistant Blake Gideon offered the 6-foot-2, 200-pound tackling machine January 21. Texas A&M, LSU, TCU, USC, Oklahoma State, Arkansas, Baylor, Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Houston have offered since the state championship game.

Defensive back:
S Landon Hullaby, Mansfield Timberview
Texas defensive backs coaches Terry Joseph and Blake Gideon re-offered the 6-foot-0, 185-pound versatile DB Friday. The Longhorns are considered to be at the top of the list for the younger brother of Texas LB Jaden Hullaby.

CB/N/S Bryce Anderson, Beaumont West Brook
The versatile DB recommitted from LSU Saturday. The Longhorns re-offered January 23 following a conversation between Texas DB’s coach Terry Joseph and the Anderson family. Texas A&M, Alabama, Stanford and USC are very much in the mix with the Aggies having been trending since Christmas.

S Bryan Allen Jr., Aledo
Texas DB’s coach Terry Joseph re-offered January 23. The former LSU verbal has Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Texas at the top of his list. Michigan is the most recent offer.

CB/N Terrance Brooks, Plano John Paul II
Alabama is the most recent offer for the elite and versatile DB that can play any spot and in any scheme. Texas has re-offered, and the Longhorns are very much in the mix along with Alabama, Stanford and Oklahoma. Texas A&M can’t be counted out due to the family connections.

CB Denver Harris, North Shore
The Longhorns are all over Harris. Bo Davis has years in the back pocket recruiting North Shore, and Terry Joseph will provide help. Alabama, Ohio State and Texas A&M are setting up to be the main competition.

CB Bobby Taylor, Katy High
Texas re-offered Taylor January 26. Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, USC, LSU and Arkansas are in the top group.

CB/N Jaylon Guilbeau, Port Arthur Memorial
The Texas verbal has TCU and Texas A&M making a run, among others. A call from the Texas staff has calmed the waters, for now.

Jarred Kerr, Lexington
Texas DB’s coach Terry Joseph has been in communication. Texas, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Florida and Oklahoma are at the top of the list.

Chace Biddle, Garland
Texas DB’s coach Terry Joseph has been in contact. Texas and Oklahoma remain the top two, at this point.

That would be a kick in the nuts, make no mistake. The annual aggy winter/spring surprise.

Seeing chatter now it be another transfer??  Perroni also posted about him when the tweet came out and not really much upvotes so maybe it's something else.  Those aggy Rivals mods are like Hamm with those forecast picks.

It's January/early February. Let's worry about this "commitment" shit when football season starts.

Some people act like this staff just throws their hands up and says welp, that sucks. I guess we'll just have to move on. If only flips happened...

You do know a kid committing to a rival school is a bad thing right? It's like an opposing baseball team having a 7-run inning. You still could be in it, but it's not great, Bob.

You know that these coaches flip kids all the time, right? Unless you just want to panic. We have 7 months to work these kids, rival school or not. Plus no one knows if he's commiting to aggy or not. This uproar over commits is dumb. Give the staff time. They have been on the staff for all of 3 weeks.

Much harder to flip from a rival school. This is why Aggy is trying to get as many of them to commit early as possible. It's a very good strategy given that we have a new staff.

bear is a possibility imo we have banks and Bo and sark on that recruitment. Bo's recruiting pitch is hey ive coached nfl players and college and I just left the NFL, lets go. I think that's a better pitch than anything OU could do. A&M makes more sense than OU

Outside if Troy Omeire who has straight up flipped from either school to the other?  Several have decommitted and eventually ended up at the other school, but once a recruit commits to Texas or aggy, the other school can pretty much forget about it.  It's why we are hoping guys like Perkins, Dewberry, Banks hold off.

I hardly think Bear is gone or anything like that. Just the idea that a kid committing to a rival is totes nbd is moronic.

Who've we flipped in the past few years from aggy? Pretty much just Omeire. And that was when they weren't a top 10 team.

And I don't mean just in terms of pure flips. I mean anyone who's publicly committed to aggy at any point. We pretty much just don't get them. They at least bite on the SEC sell and go east.

I agree, but the coaches aren't just giving up. They're kids. The see shiny shit and they get wide-eyed. Jimbo had one good season because of Covid. He's a great recruiter, but let's take a second and chill for now. We all thought Billy Bowman was all Texas until he wasn't. It's not like you can't flip rival recruits. See Troy O.

I think Omeire was our first aggie flip in years

We also had Chuckles and Herman. We're in a whole other league with this new staff. Give it time.
