The Athletic - National recruiting big board: The 10 most impactful uncommitted 2022 prospects

Includes Denver Harris (#1) and Devon Campbell (#9)

  Quote

9. OG Devon Campbell

The particulars: Five-star prospect from Arlington (Texas) Bowie
Ranking: No. 7 overall, No. 1 offensive guard

The buzz: You could make the case that Campbell is the most important remaining uncommitted prospect in the state of Texas. If you wanted to argue that Campbell should be No. 1 on this list, you’d have a strong case. He was clearly one of the top prospects at the Under Armour All-America Camp Series regional in Dallas in mid-March. He’s big. He’s fast. He’s agile. And that’s why he is considering offers from Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State, Alabama, USC, Oklahoma, Houston and LSU. His importance to the in-state schools goes without saying, but every top program that recruits Texas is trying to land the talented offensive lineman. He hopes to be able to visit schools before making a decision, and where he ultimately lands should give us a nice indication of which program is recruiting the state the best.

Last month’s ranking: 10

with Jamarion Miller looking unlikely

This is rather unfortunate. He and Citizen were by far my favorite RB2 options, but I never considered Citizen very likely so I was really hoping we’d get Miller. We still have some solid options, but those guys are difference makers.

But doesn't Tavorus Jones fit the bigger back mold better than Jamarion Miller?

Jones is listed at 5’10, 180 so no. You might be thinking of the other in-state kid IT likes. Can’t remember his name.

I also don’t buy that we need a bigger back that much. If a big back happens to be your best option, like Citizen, then great, but it’s not such a need that we should pass on a better player like Miller.

I think IT is high on DeAnthony Garson out of Newton. Can’t remember if that’s the site that’s high on him or not though.

I think both Beard and Sark would like to have full-time committed athletes since both programs are in rebuilds. Just my wild speculation.

My wild speculation is that Sark would be fine with Marshall doing whatever and that Beard would want better bball prospects

Looks like our pals in College Station did a great job of selling the SEC. Auburn, Alabama, LSU, and Texas A&M.

Genius 100 year decision.

Hey, we finished 4th! We almost beat Clemson once! Our losses are quall-itt-teeee. Our Hall of Champions is full of...full of something.

Thanks. We'll fill in the blanks, Aggie.

Yup, agreed.  And their “100yr decision”  is a perfect example what happens when one’s contempt for their “rival” outweighs the love of ones self.  Their actions are clouded by hate.

Acosta is taking over for Burton at Del Valle. Caleb has already said he won’t play for DV this upcoming season.

It’s funny, but Burton should know better than to put his dads backfill on blast on social. “Look at this dude begging me to play”. Come on man.
